Vincent Pike is the child of the infamous Shackles Pirates William Pike and Blue-eyed Bonnie. Growing up shipboard he spent most of his formative years aboard Bonnie’s ship The Lady’s Flower, and only occasionally aboard William’s ship Besmara’s Scourge. Vincent was always fascinated by technology, and trying to figure out how things shipboard work. He’s always monkeying about the rigging, climbing about the hold, and figuring out how the catapults and lone cannon worked.
As he grew into adulthood, he learned the ways of navigating and captaincy alongside his mother and her crew. They raided throughout the isles, taking great risks, and capturing great prizes, stashing the treasure and sharing among the crew. It was a rough life at times, running from Taldan and Cheliaxian warships, but the freedom of the open water was alluring to young Vincent.
Sadly though, these things never last, and William grew jealous of Bonnie’s success. The saw each other less frequently, harsh words always closed their meetings, and Vincent stopped sailing aboard The Scourge. Finally, it came to a head, when almost predictably, William doublecrossed Bonnie, slaying her and her crew, and claiming her ship as his own, now Besmara’s Fury. Vincent was broken by this, deeply saddened by the loss of his mother, only was able to keep her pistol, carved in the form of a mermaid, which he has since named Bonnie’s Revenge. He’s sworn to avenge his mother’s murder, and retake her ship as his own and restock it with a crew of his own.
His mother was a fair pirate captain, while his father was cruel. She was even, while his temper would flare. She used respect and rules for her crew, he ruled them through fear…
So now Vincent has been taking on with crews where he can, while looking for William’s ships and trying to take revenge on his father for her murder. Note: William Pike is a Half-elf.
