It's no problem, I'm sorry to see this go but it was fun while it lasted. I hope the real life issues improve

Walking through the market, Vincent took the time to explore much like a visitor in case he was being watched or followed. He made Khint keep close, spending some coin on any food for his canine companion to keep him at heel while he wandered. When he was satisfied that he had stalled long enough, he set his sights on searching out any places that could house gambling. That was where he had heard his target had been frequenting and he'd need to start there. While looking for such he'd also keep his eyes peeled for that dark cloak or red mask.

Vincent nodded as the boy ran off, pleased with the information he had rreceivd. With the destination in mind now, and knowledge of what he was looking for, he'd head off to go search out his enemy. He'd feed Khint some more meat from his pack on the way, keeping him ready to obey in case he had to send the dog bolting after his intended target. The man had sent him on quite a journey and would certainly pay for this trouble.

Seeing no other option, the male dug into his bag and handed over the 7 platinum and five gold pieces. The 'boy' though, if he truly was though had struck a deal now. To Vincent, that made his life forfeit if he went back on their bargain. Likewise, if he turned out to be truthful, he'd show gratitude as proper.

To say he had been caught of guard would have been understatement. Though surprise quickly became a glare, figuring the 'child' before him was not as he appeared. No street child would be so bold and crass. "Shrewed...I assume I'm not the only one to fall to such a look," Vincent sneered, putting away the coins as this became a matter of real business and price. "I'm looking for a man in a red lions mask. He's stolen something that must be recovered. That is all you need to know and I'm sure one so clever would know where to find him now," he pitched, ready to hear what this would cost him.

Vincent eyed the child, a slight glare in his eyes as he had caught the child sneaking up from behind. He knew a pickpocket when he saw one, likely trying to buy food with his money. "Trying to steal boy?" he asked, his voice low and deathly serious. He would pull out three gold coins though, likely more than the child had ever seen so close if his sneaking around was actually as poor as it seemed, "Normally, I'd punish you for trying such a thing, but instead how about a trade?" he asked, holding the currency out but not letting go. He doubted the boy knew a thing, but he'd ask all the same and still pay him for his real service, to spread the word to those who he was looking for.

Vincent looked over every detail the pair passed together, frowning more and more as they passed through the streets. It was indeed hard to believe, and didn't know too much on the Aspis Consortium but doubted any who could cause poverty with their mere presence could be any good, When the beauty left him to his own to search out a lead, he kept glancing after where she had vanished some before shaking his head. Perhaps he'd search her out again, but for now he had to search out a lead before nightfall. For now he walked, Khint at his side as he looked around, keeping an eye out for this guild

Giving a sigh, he should have known the information he needed would cost him. Seems he had been right about what really motivated her and likely what would motivate her friends. Still...he needed the information and gave a nod. "Very well...take me to your friends at the guild and I'll pay. I need to find an assassin and thief. He wore black with a red lions mask, and seems to have mastered a crossbow of some sort."

He'd arch an eyebrow as she seemed intrigued by his story, glancing to his hound as she mentioned him. He'd actually let out a chuckle for once, if a small one, before reaching down to pet the canine. "There is something. I assume a lovely woman like you knows plenty of this town. I need to know where a thief and assassin would go with such an artifact. Where could I find him or someone who might know him?" he asked, looking back up to her as he scratched behind the dogs ears.

He hesitated for a moment, question just how open he should be with a woman that was still an unknown factor for him. She had helped him, but could he trust her. For now, he supposed he really only had more to gain by trusting her then he had to lose. "I'm on a job looking for an assassin and thief. A pair of magical gems have been stolen for a temple that hired me to reclaim them."

Vincent soon trots up behind, glancing back for a second and after Khint at his side. He'd give a bit of a sigh at the training the dog still needed, but was pleased at the companion he'd still prove to be. "I should thank you as well, you proved skilled yourself and didn't abandon me as thing grew more troublesome. My name was Vincent, it is a pleasure now to meet you Kayla," he'd tell the young woman, truly meaning it as he turned to her now. Despite his resignation earlier about her, she seemed truly on the level.

Seeing that the girl seemed trustworthy enough, especially after fighting alongside him. He did a quick scan of the area to make sure no patron remaining would follow or attack, sheathing his weapon before moving to follow. Letting his path move alonside his canine, his hand tugged on the dog as he walked by, clicking his tongue for the dog to follow. Taking a 10 with combat over should get him moving

Vincent glares slightly at the dog currently making a mess. He partially blamed himself for the dogs inept ability to follow every command, but mostly blamed the ugly brute. He only hoped the ogre was currently lying somewhere dead to feed the birds and his remaining canines. Making a mental note to more formally train the dog later, he turned upon the last man, giving look of disdain as he did. "Mediocre..." he sneered at the last man trying to stand. A fool who didn't know when to quit, Vicent would walk upon him, clearly not feeling threatend as he swiped harshly at his midsection with his blade.

Vincent only nodded as his attention turned to the two remaining enemies that he had been asked to deal with. He'd swing twice at whiched seemed the least injured, letting his blade try to bring that one down, spinning to plac is electrified palm on the other.

He had tried to talk, scare and leave the idiots be. Everything he could to not bother ending their useless lives. His generous choices were met with ignorance and hard headed defiance. Growling again, Vincent would give a whistle to Khint, trying to get the dog to follow him while reaching out to grab at the woman. The drunken idiots were a mess of ugly swings and idiocy without their leader. Grabbing the woman, he would try to tug her away from the brawl, wanting to lead her and the dog away from the mess and be done with it. He'd rather not spill the blood of these baffoons if he could help it.

"Enough of this foolishness!" Vincent would growl out in anger, having had enough of this motley of drunken idiots. He'd grab the one he that was hurting himself on his armor, throwing at him a look that promised death he hoped would get through the drunken idiots obliviousness.

Intimidate: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22

He'd turn his sights on the third one though after, the only one seemingly focused still on a task at hand. He had grown tired of this and if they did not heed his words he would bring upon them swift pain that his look could not properly convey.

Vincent himself had had enough of the group currently attacking him and the woman he had just met. Drawing his blade, he'd channel his magic into it, enhancing and keening its blade to be sharper and put these fools back in the place they deserved to be in. He'd swing for the one Khint had scared and pinned, ready to bring the fool down. He was confident the woman could handle herself, and the damage he had taken from these fools was miniscule at best, having only felt the punch of one he was currently ignoring to bring down the other.

Vincent at first scowled at the foul, drunken idiot. He was yelling so loud at over her shoulder, provoking irriating from the merc, but no more so when he declared to attack him as well. Was this what the woman was after, protection? It pained him to work for free, but this man had brought it on himself, and the man could actually respect the woman now a little more for choosing a strong one to hide with. Charging his hand full of electricity, he decided to give the man a lesson he wouldn't ever forget, moving from his chair to deliver the shocking grasp in the one place he doubted any would wish to receive such a shock. It was fine though, a man like him shouldn't be having kids anyway. As he'd deliver the blow, he'd give a short whistle to his canine friend, hoping to get him to attack one similar to how he aided the ogre.

The mercenary glanced from the bartender to the woman now locked at his side. Whether she was some tart after his money or something more sinister, Vincent wasn't truly interested. At this point though, he had to hope it was only the prior and play along. No normal traveler would turn down a woman like her. "Just here on some business with my little friend. You come around here often?" he'd ask, right now making small talk to avoid any suspicion.

"Hellknight..." he corrected at first, trying to brush away the notion of the knights in his dream as just a coincidence. He was hunting a criminal, this was usually a Hellknight job.

"And no I'm not. Just a professional hired by a friend to find something he's lost. I suppose I'll have to ask around, maybe at the docks for anyone who would have arrived recently," he finished, eating up the rest of his food as he heard Khint quickly doing the same with his. A lead would pop up sooner or later. No one could just vanish.

The male cringed, not expecting such prices for such a place. He wouldn't question it though, he couldn't afford to if he needed to blend in, and dig for answers. For now, he simply paid up the six, but he would pull out another six. He'd await for the mans return, ready to bribe for both his silence and help in his invesigation. Down to 756 gld now

"I could use you a bit of help if you don't mind. I'm tracking a criminal who might've come through this area. Have you heard of any one with a pair of identical gems he's trying to sell?" he'd ask after the man had returned with his food and drink, setting down the extra for Khint to eat while he talked.

Vincent would take a moment to look a the entire tavern, taking in every persons look and position to memory. The woman at the corner was a curious case, one to make note of being a little out of place here, but jumping to conclusions could cause trouble which could alert his target. For now, he'd play this simple, but keep her in his thoughts. He'd make his way for the bar, a soft whistle to keep Khint following as he moved to sit. "Ale, food for two, and a room to stay," he said pretty point blank, digging into his bag for a handful of gold coins. For now, gold would be plenty to get things going, but this barkeep could prove a well of information if Vincent played his cards right. Luckily, at the moment, he had money to throw at this.

After walking in with no problems with his companion, Vincent figured his next task should be to start finding a lead and procure a place to rest for the night. Both of these tasks could be started at whatever local tavern or inn he could find. Enjoying a hot meal while picking the brains of the locals over two gems recently having been brought here seemed like the smartest choice for now. Hopefully they wouldn't make a fuss over his dog.

The trip felt more tolerable now with his canine friend, and Vincent found himself even growing fond of him. After some hunts, he could trust the dog to follow simple commands and stay close, likely from receiving far better treatment with a human than with the savage from before.

He walked in without any sort of hostility from any of the guards, the men of this city seeming far too focused goofing off than to bother interrigating the newcommer and dog. He hardly had time to worry about such things though. He had a theif to find and every day he wasted was another he could jump on a boat and forever be out of his grasp. He just needed a clue, anything would do. With his new canine friend, a scent would be plenty to find his target.

Comfortable now with food and drink, Vincent would allow the dog to relax with him by the fire. Sleep wouldn't come easy, never did in the wilds, but after a certain point of the night he'd truly allow himself to actually sleep. With the new supplies, reaching his destination seemed now as a simple enough task. As he pet at the dogs head, mostly absent mindedly as his thoughts wandered, they returned to the oreads and the would-be assassin. His true mission would begin soon. The last thoughts on his mind before finally allowing himself to sleep that night were back to the new canine though if it stuck around. Khint seemed like a fine name for the companion.

Vincent would watch the dog, not to concerned about the things hiding in his backpack. He was curious after it took his food, and was healed, but it seemed to have a far better opinion of him at the moment. He'd be foolish to let his guard down around a strange dog, but still was happy to see it up and about. When night was in full swing, Vincent would try hunting for food, his magic would make catching some game easy, so long as he could find it.

Giving a sigh at the animals pathetic display, he chose to swallow it down. It wasn't the beast's fault his previous owner had been poor, the ugly savage clearly unworthy to be trusted with the lives of other creatures. Knowing his food would be running low, tomorrow he would have to spend the day looking for a new water source and more food or he would not make it comfortably to Sedeq, if at all.

Still, Vincent was a bleeding heart to animals and children, and despite the notion of it making his trip more difficult, the male shared some of the remaining dried meats he had left, offering the dog food. Using his wand as well, he would press the tip the dog, using the cure moderate powers to heal the wounds from their battle the day previous. He would follow up with healing his own wounds from yesterday as well with the same wand, using 2 more charges to be sure.

Unable to discern its properties himself, he would simply pocket the strange liquid. He'd shake his head slowly to cure himself of the overwhelming feeling of staring directly at the auras of arcane power, taking the large sword with him as well. Looking down at the dog he had saved from death, he couldn't bring himself to simply leave the poor beast to die. He would be no better than the ugly brute he had chased off. Digging into his bag, he'd grab at the old cloak from his clothing from before he had acquired his magical one, tying a knot at one end before moving the dog up onto it before tying another. Now carrying the mut would be easier and he could drag him too once he found softer ground or grass to do so. He'd have to find food now for two mouths, but it would weigh better on his soul.

Vincent would try to used detect magic and identify what the liquid was. He'd observe it for a moment, concentrating on the vial as if the contents would be of some concern. Lucky him it hadn't smelled of something foul, but he had to wonder what could that ogre have worth hiding.

Vincent would give the liquid a disgusted look, holding the bottle up and shaking it. He certainly didn't immediately recognize it, daring to open it and risk the smell in order to attempt to decipher what its contents were. If I moved first could I get him? I'm not sure if he's got more than 30ft movement? If I still can't get him with a move also than I'll just magic missile. Shame to waste the crit lol

Vincent would glance at the blade, before returning his gaze to the fleeing ogre. His stare cold, he'd raise his palm high, pointing it at the back of the fleeing brute. "No...the wolf can live, but you will not. That is the price you pay for your mistreatment of dogs and assault on my person," he growled, not loud enough though for the running ogre to hear before beginning the chant of a spell, calling forth the power of the Scorching ray spell.

Scorching Ray touch attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Scorching Ray Crit confirm: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 248d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 3, 3, 3, 2, 2, 3) = 22

Scorching Ray 2nd ray: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 174d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 2, 1) = 11

It would be after his attack that he would reach down for the blade, if the beast still hadn't fallen after his parting gift he wouldn't hunt it down. It would have earned its life back after such a blast, though he doubted it would make it.

Also for the record, one the dictionary definition of propaganda is:

information, ideas, or rumors deliberately spread widely to help or harm a person, group, movement, institution, nation, etc.

The word can be a positive or negative thing, but it certainly isn't a neutral term to only mean mass communication. Just sayin xP

As we say in old country: "Must...crush...capitalism..."

Its ok. I have to use spell combat in order to cast a spell and attack with my weapon. Once I cast the spell as part of the combat, I can than use spellstrike to deliver the spell instead of using my free hand. Believe me, I'd rather not take the -2 to my attacks, but I have to in order to cast Shocking grasp and still attack with my weapon, regardless if its still with one hand.

Its similar to how monks use flurry of blows. They don't technically have to use two hands, they can do a flurry of kicks with one foot and it'll still take the appropriate minuses and still give the same number of attcks.

Likewise here, although all my attacks came from my weapon, in order to get the third one empowered by Shocking grasp, I needed to take the appropriate minuses, but its fine, I rolled high so I assume I hit the ugly beast.

Even if I missed the first attack with shocking grasp on it, the spell is still there until I discharge it, which means my second attack still had the extra benefit of having the crit which means I'll get an extra 5d6 anyways. Lok was on my side here xD

Yes, I used spell combat and took a -2 to my attacks, and used spellstrike to deliver the shocking grasp

No real problem, I was just making sure I wasn't derping really hard and missing the sentence anywhere.

Hardly willing to back down against the ugly beasts and its companion, Vincent channeled more of his eldritch power. He would reactivate the energies of his blood, calling for the Displacement energy as well as a hardend shell of the spell Protection from arrows. With the spells in place, he'd swing at the ogre, looking to take down the more dangerous target swiftly in order rid himself of the headache it caused. He wouldn't let the ugly creature go that easily though, preparing to combat with his spell, his first swing coming in hard with the channeled power of a shocking grasp spell.

Wait what?! He pulled a sword out? He just has a bow out? Did he QuickDraw it earlier cause I wasn't told :c damn...woulda put up displacement instead had I known. Oh well

With three images left, Vincent chose to ignore the wolf and what it could be capable of in favor of the grotesque archer. He charged the ugly thing, calling upon his latent pool once more not to enter his battle state, but instead to empower his weapon for the moment. He could feel his eldritch magic channel into his weapon, empowering its bite and keening its edge. With his magic flaring and his anger boiling, he charged headlong into the brute, swinging his blade for his exposed flesh.

5 points left, weapon is now a +3 Keen

Dang, thought I had a round to cast it for free pre combat when I heard it coming. Oh well, guess I'll just have to start my turn that way

Initiative: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23

"Bought time you showed yourself you ugly, stupid thing. I'm gonna make you regret making me work for free. Don't worry though, your punishment is worth being free of charge!" he growled at the creature after casting his spell. He would remain close, not wanting to give the creature too running room to come barreling at him, but still moved away from the cliff edge, not wanting to be knocked off. His eyes would remain on the ogre, prepared to do all in his power to drop it.

Vincent smirked as he heard the footsteps, stepping over and away from the dog to face his incoming enemy. His sword was out and ready, his eyes watching the treeline and his body at the ready. He whispered a spell under his breath, swinging the blade as part of the components as cast a mirror image spell as he had in his dream. He would wait for the ugly thing. He had such anger to unleash.

Mirror images: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Vincent would kneel down, checking on the two dogs that lie on his feet on after the other, working to attempt to stop their bleeding. The stupid beasts had infuriated him, but he knew it wasn't truly their faults. They were animals, and with the right care and treatment they could be taught against whatever they had been up to.

Heal checks: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 151d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19

After doing what he could, he'd glance up at the treeline, half expecting an ogre or some other creature to show up, likely the owner of these creatures. He had words, or moreso, actions to take up with the owner. Vincent would slice his throat and leave him for the crows if he showed up.
