Victor narrows his eyes. A sound plan. Stake out the place and wait for the Assassin to leave. Then make off with the loot. However, one question rings through the thief's mind. "How do I know you won't tell the nobles and have them put the place on constant high alert?"

Sense Motive (don't know if this opposes Intimidate, but I'll go for it): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19 Wow. Victor's eyes narrow and clenches his dagger tighter. "It seems we're at an impasse, Assassin. But think for a moment. We're just doing what the bastard Colin told us. It's his fault for playing us for fools. I'd say, you give me the statue, you continue to protect the nobles, and then we exact our revenge on him. We both get paid, we both take our anger out, and no one gets hurt. And maybe we lighten his I didn't come here to kill the nobles. All I want is the statue. That's it. I get it, I leave. I have too much riding on this job." Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Crossing fingers.

Victor ignores the blood being drawn. He closes his eyes and sighs. 'I can't fail. I need this. For... Marigold.' He opens his eyes. "Is there a way to compromise? Perhaps if I give you part of my cut for the statue that I'll get from my contact? Surely you've heard of Colin. Bit of a b*****d. But he'll hold his end." Diplomacy (if I need it. Most likely, no): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 Dang. This is getting intense. Victor really wants this thing.

Feeling the blade to his throat, Victor turns to look at the assailant behind him. Seeing the half-elf behind him, his hazel eyes seem to glow with fury. He remembers this man. He remembers seeing him at a good deal of the scuffles between the thieves and assassins. He remembers seeing this man kill several of his friends. Scowling, he whispers out, "Assassin. What an odd sight. Never thought you'd survive the destruction. So what are you here for? I'm assuming you're hear to kill someone. But then again, you might be hired to be these nobles' guard mutt. Stand aside. All I'm here for is the statue." He adjusts the dagger in his hand, anticipating a fight to break out. Quick question. Would Victor know that this noble family was allied with the Thieves Guild?

Okay. Sorry this is late. Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 Doesn't hear a thing. Victor curses as he bumps into the painting. But he continues to make his way, drawing a dagger since he knows he's caught. But doesn't know when they're coming. And Tobias is up. Will this break out into a fight? Hopefully, we join forces! :D

Victor smiles as he collects his newfound loot. However, he looks out the door and thinks, 'Okay. According to the map and the general layout of the place, the vault should be right there. However, there's only one in and one way out. How do I get in there? Hmm...' He ponders for a moment before coming up with an idea. Carefully, he sneaks over to the farthest end of the mansion. Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
He then heads into a nice large, spacious room with only one way in and out. After... "liberating" the room of its valuables, he begins his trap. Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
He starts by sabotaging the door so that when it closes, it will lock, trapping whoever is inside. [dice=Disable Device to sabotage the lock]1d20 + 9[/dice] After sabotaging the door and leaving it open, he then begins to create a lot of noise, luring the guards over to him. After he makes enough noise, he then carefully leaves the room and lies in wait. Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 Once most or all of the guards enter the room, Victor closes the door, trapping them inside. He then sneaks over to his starting point and lies in wait for the moment to strike. Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Oh, boy. I got a feeling that with that 8 stealth check, I might get caught. Really getting down to the wire.

Victor waits for a moment before looking around. He carefully climbs up to the attic and pokes around. 'There may be something of value in here.' Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
After that, he slowly heads to the door and sticks close, not opening it until he's sure that he's safe. Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

Victor moves to the next room's window. He listens carefully and stays hidden, checking for traps. Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
If the room is clear...
Disable Device for unlocking window: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
He then opens the window and heads in, making sure to shut the window and leave no trace. He then heads into the nearest hiding spot to wait out the hysteria. Bluff (to hide signs of presence): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Victor looks at the door. Then he looks back in the direction that the footsteps are coming from. Thinking quickly, he heads out the nearest window, making sure to close it behind him. He then sneaks across the rooftops to the window that leads to the room he needs to get into. He then waits for the coast to be clear, after which, he sneaks into the room through the window (after checking it for traps and unlocking it with his thieves tools). Stealth (inside): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

After the half-elf leaves, Victor steps carefully out of the closet. He whispers to Weylyn, "Come on. Let's get to the Vault quickly. Before that the guards or the unknown man have a chance to capture us." He moves his way to the Vault. Perception vs traps: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11 / Take 10: 18

Victor carefully takes the ash tray and the statue and stashes them into his pack. Confident that the guard is gone, he opens the door and sneaks out, carefully closing the door behind him. He sneaks the way to the vault, keeping an eye out for guards, traps, and any other valuables. Ever once in a while, he might go into a room and scope it out for loot. Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Victor looks intently at the map before folding it and placing his pocket. He takes the time to investigate the room for anything of worth or, at least, catches his eye. Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
He then places his ear to the doors and tries to listen for any movement or guards from the other side. Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25 |
