Salutations, new guy here, and I WAS working on a character concept I was very high on but it would seem that some peers of mine informed me that there were some aspects of it that appeared as if they might be contradictory or even outright illegal.
Doing some research, while a good consensus of people out there seem to disagree, however from what I can gather the Dark Tapestry mystery is completely legal unless that has changed at one point or another.
According to Archives of Nethys, however, this is not the case. Now then, the real problem is this:
I was informed that Oracles require a patron god associated to the sub/domain equivilent mystery, and if they are in fact right, this means that due to the Dark Tapestry subdomain being possessed by no legal PFS deities, that this would render the Dark Tapestry mystery unplayable.
While I've not seen anything that would imply that this is true, I have likewise not found anything that also disproved it.
"lthough the gods work through many agents, perhaps none is more mysterious than the oracle. These divine vessels are granted power without their choice, selected by providence to wield powers that even they do not fully understand. Unlike a cleric, who draws her magic through devotion to a deity, oracles garner strength and power from many sources, namely those patron deities who support their ideals. Instead of worshiping a single source, oracles tend to venerate all of the gods that share their beliefs. While some see the powers of the oracle as a gift, others view them as a curse, changing the life of the chosen in unforeseen ways."
The above within the quotations is not hard validation, however it would argue that the Oracle is not actually pidgeonholed into acting or worshiping the chief cause of their power (and plight, given they are universally cursed from the start). Given that Gods of the Dark Tapestry have been referenced in several books, even including The Black Butterfly's deity bio, that the Outer Gods are indeed somewhere in the vast recesses of the Material Plane within the Dark Tapestry.
Now my personal argument, assuming my friends were wrong, is that it should not only be possible to play a Dark Tapestry Oracle, but it should not be scrutinized as a PC choice since the character never got a choice in the matter and that the Old Ones goals and morals are beyond the scope of even mere godlings.
