Appearance

Vic is a little over average height at 5'9", broad-shouldered and stocky. His overall appearance is best described as athletic, though he looks a little more like a linebacker than the high-school track star he was.

His face is unremarkable, with deepset blue eyes and a cleft chin being his distinguishing features. His hair is dark brown and medium length, though he usually wears a baseball cap (a habit picked up from his balding father).

He's never been too concerned about his appearance, usually wearing well-worn blue jeans and an old collared work shirt, even in warm weather.

Background

Born the only child of older parents and raised in small town Texas, Vic comes off as a 'country boy' to those that get to know him. Prone to simple pleasures, rural mannerisms, and fiercely independent, he tends to get along well enough with most folks even if he's not especially memorable or fun to be around. His father was an avid outdoorsman, and as a result Vic knows a little more about fishing, hunting, and firearms than he ever really wanted to know.

His school life was easy, his modest smarts and a little effort allowing him to coast through the academic end and his genial nature, slight social cluelessness, and annual performance in cross country meets making the social end less trying than it was for many. It was high school that saw the development of his interest in cars, with shop being one of his favorite classes. Much of his leisure time was also spent on races around some of the local back roads, encouraged by his father and chided by his mother.

His father retired at the end of Vic's junior year and the family moved to Galveston, Texas. Though initially resistant, the move expanded his driving interests to seaborne vehicles. He spent the summer working for a jetski rental service and found himself joyriding his father's boat during the school year.

After graduation, he went straight into auto-repair and made a modest living for himself. After being fired for a particularly reckless driving stunt with a customer's vehicle, he looked to the sea for his employment. He wound taking a position on a cruise ship, being trained as an athletic assistant for the various activities on board. After a year's worth of various tours around the gulf and eastern seaboard, he's starting to chomp at the bits for a more exciting job, or at least one where he's not away from home and his vehicles for weeks or months at a time.
