About Vesto Slipher

The son of Halfling slaves, Vesto was orphaned at a early age and he does not speak of the fate of his parents. He fled the Chelaxian noble's household to the streets of Kintargo and survived by joining a gang of outcast youths led by the half-elven bard, Mordecai. These young halflings, gnomes and humans were fed, clothed and housed by the bard, and they looked to Mordecai as their surrogate father. Mordecai taught some of them to entertain crowds with music, dance and tumbling while others cut the purses of onlookers and passers-by. SOme of Mordecai's "children" were trained as burglars, taking advantage of the small size and nimble fingers of the young thieves. While not employed in these pursuits, Mordecai would frequently regale the youths with tales of adventure and Cayden Cailean - Mordecai even claimed to be a former Pathfinder and that he originally hailed from Absalom.

After a few years, Vesto heeded the call of the Lucky Drunk to embark upon his own adventures and stowed away aboard a ship bound for Absalom. Upon arrival, he boldly demanded employment at Cayden's Hall and was rewarded with a menial job and a cot in the back room by the High Priestess Saphira herself. Vesto's hard work earned him further respect and his interest in the faith of the Accidental God was nurtured for several years before he was invested as a acolyte.

When not fulfilling his duties to the Church, Vesto socialized with the adventurers and Pathfinders that frequented Cayden's Hall. Given his history, he gravitated toward the less savory types and eventually fell in with members of the Shadow Lodge. Not long afterward, Vesto was referred to Grandmaster Torch and became a fledging member of Pathfinders. After being betryed by Grandmaster Torch, Vesto joined the Grand Lodge faction. Since then Vesto has become somewhat disheartened at having his ideals betrayed and he has become more of a risk-taker, volunteering for more dangerous missions with the Pathfinders.

Vesto is currently learning the art of brewing of both beer and mead when not engaged in the business of the church or the Pathfinders.
