About Veradiran
Veradiran is one of the few (less than a dozen) Vulcan Separatists in the Federation. Veradiran has a natural flare for languages, and picks up new languages in the same way that most humans pick up new card games.
He has multiple degrees in xenopsychology, xenohistory, and xenobiology. He has ratings as an emergency medical tech, with field medicine license. Veradiran entered Starfleet Academy, and although it was expected he would pursue a science career, based on his race, he instead went for tactical training, with command track and diplomacy concentrations.
He served well, and competently, and showed a shocking amount of empathy with alien species, easily approaching the levels of empathy an average Betazoid was capable of, without the reluctance to kill when necessary that came with that.
He shows a remarkable ability to get along with people, and to mentor those he trains, and also the unique ability to turn around and ruthlessly make choices that may then put those subordinates in danger, if that is what is needed to succeed at the mission or save the ship. This ability to change mental gears at a moment's notice makes it difficult to take him by surprise.
