in the coming months i will be returning home to continue my campaign. one of my players has come from damphir to a full vampire, by a dark ritual with the aid of another vampire in a need for power to avenge his destroyed family. the character is being played to believe hes going to still think and act human and be able to resist his bloody thirst, the player is hoping that eventually he will succumb to the darkness and act as a true vampire would. in an effort to aid him with this for story and flavor, im attempting to come up with scenarios and metaphorical questions to warp his perception of the world around him eventually killing people like rodents and the like. problem being is im not able to come up with much besides the standard obstacles, i need help finding something different or out of the box. any help is appreciated

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Honestly I think it would be cool to use Radovan and count Varian jaggere for major characters in hells rebels. Or any of the characters from their stories really I know I use them.

So in a sense a real life version of the pathfinder chronicles? This I like

This is a great plethora of information, I'll be trying to use as much as possible. Heck I might even make this an entire multilevel society during my deployment and send it up to paizo and see if they can use it for one of the lost cities during the battles either during or after the quest for sky

Honestly I see this as a cool opportunity to have the players fight the succubus in their heads, defeating it with roleplay to break the domination. Ex. All of their minds connected to the succubus dominating them and if they figure out how to overwhem her or beat her or even escape her mind. Then they could get the jump on her

I really appreciate all the info and ideas thus far, definitely going to add some of these to the game. One thing I've been trying to figure out is how to build challenging enough traps/hazards that won't outright kill someone, but not easy to roll right over

The fiery dwarven undead sound awesome, as well as a guardian.
Also what's your suggested average for dungeon rooms? I often find too many is tiresome but too little produces a lack of accomplishment

So I've been working on an adventure and is like to build one as forgotten dwarven ruins from the quest for sky and if course fighting orcs. Well, there's a team if folks now trying to excavate said ruins to find an artifact of power the party wants to get to before them whils eliminating this group. Biggest thing I need help with is what is most common with dwarven ruins. So far I have good stonework as well as a few secret doors, statues and decor showing family's and honor to them. And of course a big forge.
Haven't figured out traps yet or creatures in them. I would love to hear any ideas the community can give me

For the creature might want to look into terrasque, pretty cool.
As for building quests seems like you already have some ideas what might work better is if your having them fight big monsters or a monster with minions have some obstacles to use, ex. Loose rocks to help an avalanche or forests for creatures to get through. Have them go looking for powerfull npcs to aid in this big problem for supplies or maybe pathfinder society helpers. You could also have lets say if there's a huge creature fight parts of it to help take down the creature kind of like cinematic fighting. I've done that a couple of times and my players loved it lol
You might want to also give them their levels as you see fit vs having a budget, it not only helps you with flexibility of when to have their power grow but could also make it seem like their levels are from the deeds they've accomplished. Plus with a basic line, depending on how rule-run your game is, stats are easy.

Hello all, got a need for some inspiration. Getting a group together for a game and they're starting level 3 basic books for now but might use more as the game goes on. Anyway the idea is that after a couple quests in varisia they will be given a small mission to deliver a letter of peace. Thus will go horribly bad when the queen dies and they are imprisoned. I've got the adventure set up for the letter and the jail break but need help with those first few quest ideas and also adventuring leading to possible war between chelaix and varisia. They might be able to stop the war before it happened but probably not. I have all the books so I'm good on stats if they decide to enter a big battle but events while it's happening I can't seem to think of the right ones. Any suggestions or ideas would be much appreciated.

So does that make a vorpal blade a+5 sword or a +1? I know it costs +5 but can you add more
And what is the point of a normal +2 longsword?

So if I have a +1 flaming weapon and I want to ad frost to it would it become a +2. Or a vorpal blade add shock be a +2 sword for the cost of a +6?
Also how do things like a +3 shortsword of returning work/cost?

hello everybody, been dming for a bit and have usually just used all of the magical weapons and armor in things like ultimate equip ment the Dungeon Master's guide and so forth, but a few of my players have asked for some custom gear they want to create. the big question around the table is after the weapon is made for enchantment does each special ability count towards the overall bonus to armor and or attack or is it based off of the bonus you have toward the +10 maximum for price or is it just the highest bonus. I can give more specific details if needed any and all help is welcome and appreciated

hello everyone, been DM'ing a game for a bit and i know a couple of my players will soon be seeking out specific guilds for services/items/fame.what i cannot seem to find anywhere is a full comprehensive list of the known guilds in golarion other than a couple here and there from the guide to the inner sea. if anyone could tell me of such a list i would be very appreciative :)

Would definitely recommend ” we be goblins” as its a level one, gets the basics and lots of humor to show the players how fun it can be, AP wise. runelords is great add well as the legacy (green books can't remember actual name has ameiko kaijitsu on cover) worked for me.

So I've got this player that's a pacifist cleric that uses 2 steel Shields to block and push enemies. Not a big deal really sept every once in a while he needs to do damage when his exception comes into play and goes offensive. Another player likes to go old school fighter and uses his Shield to attack with due to the shield having spikes wanted to know on any suggestions on amount of damage for Shields types, as well as rules for using them for lethal damage. Also any feats for using them in different ways or attack types?

Many thanks, ive been trying to find something exactly like this for a while

So I've searched and can't seem to find solid rules but one of my players contacted lycanthropancy when he was young and wants to learn to control it with an amulet which has a part to play in the story.my question is what are the effects to his characters stats, feats, abilities, etc in hybrid as well as full lycan mode? Any help would be appreciated.
