Growing up, Vax had always wanted to be a Bridger like his parents, helping people cross the floating islands of his home planet of Orry. That changed the first time he and his parents helped some outworlders navigate the planet's dangerous gravity. Fascinated by their technology, especially the idea that he could augment his body, Vax knew right then that his future was out in the Vast.
As he grew older he found he had an even deeper connection to the fluctuating gravity of Orry, and as he developed his burgeoning solarian abilities he saw his chance. Joining up with a mercenary band on the Harmony-One station above the planet, he got his first trip into the stars. He's never looked back, going from one job to the next, earning whatever credits he can, and always looking to improve himself.
