Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
I said it before but I’ve had no idea how to fix how horribly wrong Varor’s character has gone since this campaign began. I think we finally reached the point where we can put all of the crap behind us.
I feel confident in saying that at this is it, we will never get to a point this contentious again. Even if he's still angry I don’t believe he will be so volatile anymore. Even if his character never develops from this point on and he just become static from this point, it is something that I, at the very least, can be satisfied with.
Thank God! I can feel a huge weight off my chest.
And to all of you, I sincerely apologize for how I feel I’ve had to play his character until now. If any of you want to kick me from this point on or any point in the future just say it and I will be gone. I completely understand.
EDIT: I breathed a huge sigh of relief; got a glass of tea and I’m now feeling more excited about this game since it began.
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
“She stood up to me,” Varor said happily and unaware that he's thinking out loud. He also forgot that Kalem was still in a place where he could see the smile on Vaaror’s face. And Varor clearly didn't hear what he said. “It’s about time. Maybe she’ll finally ask someone for help. Probably won’t be me though. Well at least everyone else will feel better.”
I imagine all of you can hear him.
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
It’s not that I’m not going to heal you or anything like that. I’m trying to goad her into action. She's asking everyone to be patient with her but isn't asking for help. she didn’t answer Varor herself, apparently just taking Kalem answer.
I'm going to go back and edit my last post to detail this but I want to make it clear here. he is of the opinion that she needs to defend herself not let other people come to her defense without a word. she needs to speak up.
EDIT: Nevermind, I can just make a new post detailing how happy he is he got a reaction from her and why.
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
Varor stares at Zamanda as she gives him a down dressing. ‘Not the one I was expecting to react but what I was expecting to hear. Double win. Let’s see if I can get a triple.’
His eyes flick over to Kalem. “Well Kalem, you’ve been strangely quiet through all of this. Are you actually trying to figure out my reasoning this time or you just restraining yourself from punching me in the face? Because if you are, feel free to. One black eye or broken nose is not going to bother me.” ‘And if the group wants to make me the punching bag... so be it.’
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
When I originally came up with Varor I intended him to be a very forgiving person. He ended up becoming very antagonizing.
How did my intent and execution go so wrong?

Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
After listening to Kalem answer Varor realizes that Kalem is only half right, but does raise a valid point. So Varor decides to stop being afraid of treating Ilsa like a grown woman.
And if Varor’s wrong and Kalem is completely right to then it’s time that Ilsa starts facing her fears.
“Ilsa, I’m sorry,” Varor places a hand on her shoulder after she gets up, “I wasn’t being clear when I asked you that straightforward and direct question. I’ve been having a bad day, with everything that happened at the manor house, everything that happened not even an hour ago, to all of the imagery we’ve seen down here I have been having a really horrible day. Not helped by my worsening headache.
“And I should also apologize for how I acted back at the manor house. I was angry and taking it out on everyone I could, and I wrote off your opinion without a second thought. I’m sorry.”
Varor takes his hand off her shoulder and waits for the briefest acknowledgment of his apology before delivering the backhand. “With that said, thank you for proving me right to write off your opinion, don’t talk to me ever again. I won't be talking to you, you simpering little coward.”
Varor turns his back to Ilsa; challenging her to say something.
He knows she will, and it won't be now.
“Let’s go people. The sooner we clear this place out the sooner we get out of here.”
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
“Ilsa,” Varor says exasperatedly, “do you have any idea what courage is?”
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
Scimitar versus green zombie: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 171d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Varor continues to attack the undead when he hears Ilsa scream. “Oh great, now what?”
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
Me neither.
EDIT: Don’t gaslight me, especially with something as stupid as “Undead are evil no matter what” when redemption has been the core of my character since the very beginning.
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
Again, zombies and skeletons are undead that have necromantic energy pumped into them. The undead that actually do have souls to speak of are usually ghouls or vampires.
Also, if we go with this Bashiel has to accept the fact that Ilsa gains much of her power from undeath option then everyone has to accept the fact that Varor is going to be pissed. I know everyone’s tired of this and so am I, which is why I’m bringing up here instead of letting everybody walk into it without a second thought. If Bashiel allows her to get away with messing with a corpse in any way it is holding up a blatant double standard. Why did the Jester have to die but Ilsa doesn’t?
As I said, everyone’s tired of it, which is why I’m bringing it up here. Is everyone willing to put up with this again?
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
Two options immediately come to mind to me. The first is that Bashiel breaks his tenants and becomes an ex-paladin. The second is that we have Bashiel telegraph to Ilsa the tenant of his beliefs and role-play it. Have Ilsa be afraid of Bashiel killing her should he ever find out about her powers.
Obviously those aren’t the only options and I don’t think those two are the best, they’re just the ones that immediately come to mind.
And Kalem, this was already brought that up earlier in the gameplay thread.
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
Bashiel, didn’t you kill the jester earlier because she was messing with the bodies of the dead? Isn’t Ilsa casting command undead a bad idea because of that?
Varor moves to the door opened by Zamanda to engage the undead from the other side.
Scimitar versus green zombie: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 211d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
Varor thinks about what Bashiel says before shrugging. “Lots of spells require materials in the forms of gold and jewels in order to function. Or it could just be symbolic.”
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.

Varor, seeing another cultist go down, spots the open and charges in, switching his hold on his scimitar as he passes Kalem to attack with the blunt side.
Non-lethal scimitar vs green cultist: 1d20 + 7 - 4 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 7 - 4 + 2 = 201d6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 2 = 4
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
Yes, that was a joke.
But on to serious matters. Is my stat allocation really such a bother? I get the complaints of Varor as a character and I’ve been trying to fix them, but is this really a “need to talk” issue?
I’m genuinely concerned about this is because I believe this is the third time you’ve given me a rebuild. If this is really such a problem I’ll change my build so that everyone can have one less problem to focus on and so I can stop hearing about it. I just want to know what exactly is so wrong.
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
We will honor your sacrifice.
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
Naturally I would love to take these people.
Varor, not seeing how he could be of any help at the moment, draws his scimitar and stands at the ready.
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
Or in dungeons that are made of, you know, wood.

It’s really just because we’ve been rushing this adventure.
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
I only gained a 4th level spell and domain power.
“Not unless one of us feels like triggering the trap.”
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
Varor grits his teeth at the gleeful display of death. Listening to Kalem only tightens his nerves. “Kalem, there is a lot wrong with everything you just said. This is not the time or the place to be making ill-conceived jokes. And this is not some intimidation tactic. Read the room, why would it be?”
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
I missed a lot.
HP: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 1 = 9

4th level domain powers.

Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
Varor notices Ilsa shifting around. ‘She really needs to figure out what her issues are, or get a little bit of confidence so she doesn’t look like some first time criminal having an attack of conscience.’
“Let’s just get this done. I have a growing headache, and a merchant I need to go talk to. Sarenrae, give us strength to raise this unholy work.”
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
Varor decides to let Bashiel and Zamanda handle explaining the situation to the Commander. Mainly because they were more well spoken than him and partly due to his worsening headache. He does take one opportunity to try and help where he can. “We’re here to try and make the city better not worse. We didn’t kill any of the gray maidens when we had the chance. One of them can attest to me personally not killing her while she was down, for what it’s worth. And I will try my best to ensure that we bring Davaulus back alive, for proper questioning and then social justice.”
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
Varor could feel his head throbbing pain again, and he couldn’t stop himself from clutching his head with one hand due to the pain. He pushes it down as best he can he can lay down and rest after these Urgathoans are finished. “All right, let’s get in the left and head down. I don’t want to take a chance on there being a secret escape route down there.”
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
Varor knows that he has nothing else useful to say so he begins looking around the room searching for anything that they may have missed now that the fighting is over.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
I don’t feel right calling dibs on a post because it feels kind of childish. The way I complained was also childish but I left that on the post as a reminder of the type of s*** I need to stop. To keep a long and personal story short I had a very terrible time with social growth so self-confidence and being an adult are things that I’m still working on.

Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
I just finished writing all of this for nothing. Thanks, Kalem.
Varor quickly cast Guidance on himself. “Good for you,” he says, placing the palm of his hand around the maiden’s helm and gives it the most patronizing shake possible. “But the city has our loyalty and the city is sick, unlike anyone in this hospice. Now take a look over there.” He turns her head to the Varisians. “Look at Varisians who are getting better right now and are clearly not dying of plague. They’re not getting up because they were cured of the disease, they’re getting up for the same reason that you’re conscious now, basic energy that any basic paladin or cleric can use. That energy can’t remove a disease. These people aren’t sick, so why are they here? Because the doctors weren’t curing the disease, they were causing it. They admitted it and much more.
“Ileosa hired these doctors and put you, her personal metal soldiers, in charge of protecting them. They’re trying to make this plague more lethal experimenting on innocent people of Korvosa, the very same people that she is supposed to be leading. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s the one who started the plague in the first place. So why does she have your loyalty?”
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 12 + 1 = 26
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
Varor looks at the dagger, shakes his head and says, “No, but we should probably keep it, we keep finding strange daggers.”
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
I can’t see you but I can see the patient, the one you just use the cure spell on and just unbuckled the straps of.
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
Prayer, not bless. And sorry, my mistake. But that doesn’t change the fact that we still need to get out of here.
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
He settled on seriously stupid. “You idiot, a cure spell isn’t going to do anything, this is a disease. Even if that did work we don’t have time, we got to get out of here.” He turns back to the double door and grabs ahold of his holy symbol. “As much as it pains me to fight those who have made the open worship of Urgathoa illegal I see no other way for us to get out of here.”
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
Varor’s eyes narrow at Zamanda, wondering if she’s serious, if she’s stupid, or some combination of the two. However, instead of staying anything he taps the helm of the unconscious gray maiden.
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
I do have the Prayer spell ready and I believe my actions are resolved first so if we go with the Babble plan I can help with that.

You could have done that the whole time? Why not use it to draw out the invisible doctor? I mean I know he’s probably hiding under the table but come on.
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.

Varor catches the maiden6s sword on her swing and uses to guide his scimitar down to the sword guard, ramming the pommel of her sword against her helm, knocking her out.
“Nothing. ‘Don’t worship evil’ is one of those unspoken rules that everyone agrees to but nobody actually makes legality.” He takes advantage of the lull for some quick heavy breaths.

The sad thing is that we sold a smoke bomb just before we came here.

nonlethal damage: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 151d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Hate to spoil the good perception checks, but wouldn’t this be a heal check to identify stuff relating to the disease?
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
Sense motive: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24 “There are no followers of Urgathoa here. This is a house of healing. You’ve been given a chance, now you will face justice.” If that was a lie. Varor says, “You are terrible liars!” Or, if that wasn’t a lie or he couldn’t detect it as one, he says “You are gullible or evil!”
Scimitar nonlethal damage: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 241d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 And that should hopefully knock her unconscious.
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
So am I the only one concerned the fact that no enemy reinforcements have arrived yet?

Scimitar nonlethal damage: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 201d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 Her being prone and me using non-lethal damage both cause a minus four penalty so I left my attack bonus as is.
“Sorry!” Varor says as he swings the blunt of his scimitar at the gray maidens head, hoping it’ll be enough to knock her back into unconsciousness.
Male Elf Cleric/7 7d8+(14 con)+(7 fc)=Hit Points 59/59. Initiative: +6. Perception +4 Speed: Walk 30 ft. AC: 19 (+2 vs. evil) (Touch 12, Flat-footed 17, CMD 18, FCMD 16). Saves: Fortitude: +7, Reflex: +4, Will: +7.
Rebuke Death: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Varor quickly gets down to stop the grey maiden from dying... and readies himself to prevent Kalem or Bashiel from killing her. And deliver a quick, nonlethal, blow to knock her out if he heals her too much.

Continued Animation. So... disturbing the bodies of the deceased basically? Tch, anything to say Bash?

Draw his scimitar and attacked a gray maiden behind him. His first swing doing nothing. His second doing something but not enough.

No, I knew that when I was drafting the post but I was drawn away for about a minute so the ‘you’ve been away for too many seconds’ message popped up. When I hit the back button I thought it got everything so I didn’t think I needed to readjust the ending. I wasn’t paying enough attention.
