Vanzulii is a bastard son of a Free Captain and a Red Mantis Assassin. His hair is red, which is favorable sign in the Red Mantis community. His face is scared from many brawls with pirates. Vanzulii's mother trained him in the arts of deception and he uses his skills to spy on the free captains for the Red Mantis. It his is secret hope to one day gain enough favor with Achaekek to join the Red Mantis. Vanzulii boarded the ship in Mediogalti continuing his duties for his mother as a spy.
