About Urek Spieler
Urek was born in 4569 to the Spieler family in the Little Janderhoff dwarven neighborhood in Kaer Maga. His father, Grazith Spieler, and his mother, Henwig Spieler, worked Spieler printing house. Of the thirteen children Urek was inconveniently placed at number 9. There was not room enough in the family business for Urek, and ignored as a middle child he ended up spending much of his time on the mean streets of Kaer Maga.
Urek ended up involved in petty crime, from pick-pocketing to breaking and entering. Urek was invited at some point to work in the Commerce League syndicate in Kaer Maga, eventually advancing from associate to soldier to a minor captain in the organization -- overseeing recruits and running collections from several of Dakar's gambling dens.
Urek met his wife, Adana, when he was still a young dwarf of 54; she was a daughter of the Dwarven Commerce League underboss Lozunri. Over the course of the past hundred years, Adana and Urek had five daughters and one son.
Urek's family largely distanced themselves from Urek, as it bacame clear that Urek was involved in unsavory work. But Urek still treasures the flyssa gifted to him by his grandfather Mu'rek, who had spent several years in Thuvia. Mu'Rek told him that the dagger's name is Krutost – the Varisian word for Cruelty.
Urek's fist daughter is named Brigha. Urek's second daughter, Frizzah, is living in Magnimar with her husband Mach; a prominent member of Sabriyya Kalmeralm's Magnimar Crime Syndicate. Urek's son is named Mokek. And Ureks last three daughters are, respectively, Janel, Reza, and Ayn.
Just after Urek's one-hundred-and-fifty-fourth birthday, Urek was visiting Frizzah and Mach. At dinner with a number of Sabriyya Kalmeralm's captains, suddenly a group of Shiela Heidmarch's Pathfinder Society thugs came to break up the dinner; they were under some crazy idea that this simple gathering was part of a plot to kidnap Eando Klein.
Long story short, the Pathfinders did what Pathfinder do. They presumed guilt on the flimsiest evidence, and threatened summary justice to persons at the dinner who did not agree to join the Pathfinder Society. So, Urek joined the Pathfinder Society, working for Calisro Benarry -- the least objectionable of the mucky-mucks in the Pathfinder crime syndicate.
