About Uhg Li
Ugh li was abandoned by her human mother after she had given birth to her at a monastery in the Osirion lands. Homely and untutored, she served the monks fetching and hauling a variety of things until she became athletic and strong.The monks would whisper that "the Ugly One should be able to do this"...or "ask the ugly one to do that" until she began to answer to her name, Ugh li, not knowing it was insulting to those who are more sensitive to the ways of a more judgmental society. The monks merely stated facts and didn't truly treat her any differently then any of the other orphans in their midst.
She was then utilized as a sparring partner slightly better then a straw practice dummy, but not much at first, but then due to the fact that she had shown aptitude as a sparring partner she was invited to join the monastery as one of the students of the monastic arts. While she was taught many skills over the next few months, she thought often of her parents as a child, but eventually she made peace with their abandonment through her studies of death. As death is an end and a beginning: She was dead to them and they were dead to her and now she held no other allegiances then to serve the Osirion monks --who serve the nation and all her people.
Shortly after her acceptance she was asked to serve them as many of them do, by traveling and representing Osirion and their ways during her journey down her OWN path.
