Race information

:
Where they come from...

The shade is a subspecies of human created as a promotional event for the game developers other text based mmorpg known as Darkened Hesitation. A vampire mmorpg which focused on the teenage audience. The shade was a race specifically created along with others as a reward for reaching a level specification in the sister game for the promotional event. A task which is not easy without making use of the microtransactions in said other game. The shade is a unique race
whose high level requirement to collect and rarity gives it the odd
choice to spawn in either the life temple or the death temple and are segregated by this fact. All shades appear to be a shadowy humanoid figure in terms of features and color but while those who start at the temple of death hold darker colors, purples blues and blacks. The shades which begin in the temple of life have more luminescent colors, light blues silvers and whites. Each shade has a colored core reminiscent of a gem seen through their whispy features which is their heart as well as their way of expressing emotion through different colors. It is said the shades are created from a well to the realm of death as shades are spirits of humans where all dead players go... but no one is quite sure how to find the well as it is hidden behind mists which make one lose the ability to remember things well, deemed The Mists of lythe after the river of the underworld in greek mythology.

Their ways and culture...

The shades are a conservative species created from their closeness to the realm of death and lack of care for many things that stems from that fact. While there are outlyers to this, most shades tend to be rather bleak emotionless or withdrawn. Yet almost as if to counteract this effect most shades are accomplished spell casters of one sort or another and enjoy crafting things with magic, this is not limited to only mundane items but in fact seems to lend them to be magical item creators and such. Even though their species is small in number and rare to be seen they are always notable by the way they tend to take an idea and become the best at it they can making themselves accomplished specialists in whatever they decide to do. Most shades differ from each other and tend to not even get along with other shades tending to rather find other species with similar interests to gather with. They have no easily found society where they are coalesced but there are rumors that near the well where they are created a hidden village of shadowy arts is found in the mists of lythe. Due to their single minded determination they are widely respected by the other species and their devotion to their arts even seen as good luck if one can attract their attention. Shades are known as just as variable as the human they are a subspecies of the human. If a bit more odd in comparison to the enormous race.

The history of shades...

The shades are a relatively new race. The shades started to appear after the promotional event under the guise of a large stormcloud covering the world for an entire month. At the last hour of the month a single rainbow bolt of lightning struck the distance far beyond where and race had ever been before. It was at this point every being felt that which was a tear in the world as the realm of life and death was merged at least slightly. No one ever found anything coming of that but after a couple months shades started to appear from elsewhere, their odd appearance startling many into fear of the dark creatures. The shades took no mind and quickly went about starting projects one by ones and quickly making the other races gape in awe at their skills. When asked where the shades come from they simply say they do not know as in order to come to the other races they had to cross through the mists. An obstacle none yet have managed to avoid. The shades have been around for barely a century making some older lived races still remembering their appearance yet still long enough for them to have created a place in the society around them. There is still an amount of prejudice to the race due to their features and relative newness. Not helped by the fact they tend to outshine even dwarven smiths on occasion and elven magicians. Hence creating a rift of jealousy and envy between other races. Yet the shades have not yet done anything directly harmful to other races being seen as a mostly neutral party. They tend not to become violent unless provoked being known to even simply start up their projects again after jealous humans or dwarves destroy their crafts.
