TACTICS
Before Combat: While Twigs' jittery nerves don't lend so well to ambushes, they're nontheless his preferred plan of attack. (Fighting fair's fer chumps an' deaders, see?)
During Combat: Twigs prefers to pick on isolated or flanked targets with his enforcer feat, trying to put them in the dirt before they can swing at him. (My advice for fightin'? Kick 'em in the teeth and scarper!)
Morale: A coward at heart, Twigs will withdraw into hiding if seriously wounded. (Don't make the other berks too happy, but see, I can run away from them too!)

Addendum:

CHARACTER
Appearance: A gaunt frame, lank greasy hair and a broken-toothed smile frame a face best described as something the otyugh dragged in. His wide, watery eyes are constantly moving, as if expecting to be struck each second. Twigs' mismatched clothing suggests a life on the run, and his long limbs don't seem good for anything save for running away.

Ends: Twigs' one and only concern is to be on the winning side and to survive all of the horrible misfortunes that seem to follow him at every turn.

Means: A dull knife, duller wits and the lack of moral backbone required to cut and run when things turn sour. Twigs' habit of constantly chattering tends to see him written off as unthreatening, although that is less calculated bluff and more honest truth.

Ties: Twigs generally divides the world into those that aren't out to get him and those that are. Nonetheless, Twigs has a few friends on the bottom rung of Matharyn society, most of whom having written the thief off for dead months ago and rather glad to be rid of him. Among the army, lawkeepers and higher-ups of Talingarde, Twigs is wanted in various counties for smuggling, brigandage, arson, kidnapping, looting, desertion, depravity and general lawlessness, and will find no friends there. The tattered remains of Twigs' former unit, however, their position compromised when Twigs broke ranks, might be particularly happy to see him.

Backstory:
A notorious cut-throat, coward and ex-convict, Twigs found the criminal life through a combination of terrible parenting and worse luck. Perhaps if Twigs had known his mother, a poor serving girl and devout Mitran whose pursuit his father could not shake, he might have turned out for the better. But alas, she survived only long enough to ensure that her child wasn't left in the woods to die before the rigors of the bandits life claimed her.

His father died not long after, cut down by the Knights of Alerion in an expidition into the Borderlands, with all Twigs had to remember him by being a trick elbow and several scars. He managed a brutal existence among the remaining bandits, who payed him no mind aside from the occasional kick. They dubbed him "Twigs", for his thin, malnourished frame, and kept the scared, squirrely-eyed whelp under their heels until the last of the bandits were routed and captured, and the frightened child taken to the capital to be raised by the monks of St. Macarius. In the orphanage, Twigs learned several valuable lessons that would see him through several prison sentances: just say the prayers and keep yer bloomin head down.

Hardly soldiering material, Twigs was nonetheless booted out of the orphanage and into the army when he came of age. A constant disappointment to his sergeant and his platoon, Twigs was kept well away from the front lines and earned the position of quartermaster. Deciding that the winds of opportunity were finally blowing his way, Twigs began to skim a little silver off of the top, and soon found himself on the run for embezzlement and desertion, narrowly escaping a hanging by fleeing into the Heartlands and laying low in the Matharyn slums as a beggar and pickpocket.

Thus begun Twigs' long and unsuccessful criminal career, during which he's been imprisoned almost half a dozen times for petty crimes, but managing to escape justice for his desertion. Priding himself on being a shining example of the failures of the Talingarde penal system, Twigs is far from reformed. On the contrary, his stints in prison, surrounded by murderers, arsonists and pirates, have awakened a blossoming criminal mind. A mind that has earned him a short stint in Banderscar prison before a lifetime in the salt mines, a fate Twigs ultimately feels is unjust. Only the brave and the foolish attempt to escape from Branderscar Prison, and Twigs doesn't fancy himself either of those. Sensing, however, his only chance to cut and run, Twigs managed to hide a few items on his person to assist in his escape.
