About Turath the Grey Taker
Formerly an intelligent ranseur of Thassilonion make, Turath's special purpose is to win treasure. A party of adventurers discovered the intelligent item in the midst of Varisia. Shortly afterwards, they encountered an ancient being of the First World who granted a wish to each in his presence who asked. Turath requested to take a humanoid form to further his purpose more efficiently and the fey creature interpreted this request a little differently than he expected.
As the rest of the group had been affected in other peculiar ways by the fey's methods of granting their wishes, Turath wandered out of the wilderness to Magnimar. A Varisian shopkeeper, disturbed by the visitor's strange manner, appealed to a tengu merchant colleague with known connections to the Sczarni and Pathfinder Society, who seemed more capable of dealing with weird occurrences. Jakku recognised the being's useful talents and suggested he join the Society.
Turath has discussed his strange transformation and the chaotic powers that seem to take an interest in him, with the Mordant Spire scholar-adventurer known as Hurricane.
