Everyone, my apologies, but I am going to depart this game. I'm finding myself spread a bit thin and needing to get some of my time back. I have enjoyed the story and I think this is a good time for Moxie to take his leave. I hope you all continue to have fun with this! Thanks for the game, GM Quirk!
"Of course, of course." Moxie smiles. "Bubs, my partner and I can certainly help you with the paperwork and making sure that all the permits are filed in good order. We did have to manage some trouble in finding the ship, especially vacating a squatter. All of that will be covered in the invoice though."
Moxie begins searching the forward area of the ship as well as the mephit itself. He notes any damage the group took as well as the ammunition and charges expended for the Bub's invoice.
Moxie tries to rally the group to finish it off. "Come on now, it's on its last legs!" He waves the pistol at the creature threateningly again.
"Yeah, that's it! It can't stand too much more!" Moxie encourages the others and then tries to line up a shot of his own.
"Yeah, get it!" Moxie wave his pistol again around again, trying to rally the others.
"Yeah, screw that! Get 'em!" Moxie yells at the others, pointing to Tim. He fires a shot from his pistol at it, more to rally everyone else, but it is surprisingly accurate.
Moxie darts up to the living area, drawing his pistol. He leans out to try and draw the attention of the creature.
Moxie looks at Tim with a roll of his eyes. "Well he's not here. He's up on the Station habitat. If you want to go see him, that's fine. We just need to secure the ship first, then we can take you to him."
"First, we need to secure the ship and verify its status. Can you show us around? Have you been performing regular maintenance and upkeep? Do any parts need replacement?"
Moxie is surprised by the creature's appearance. "Oh, well...with you down here taking care of the ship, I suppose Captain McLaren had need of me. I'm sure he would be very glad to have you back though. What's your name?"
"Whos there? I am Tremox, Captain McLaren's personal assistant, here to gather his things. Are you a securitybot?"
Moxie picks up an old book. "Hey, an antique. I bet someone will pay for this." He leaves through it momentarily before adding it to the log.
Moxie enters some information into a datapad. "All reasonable salvage." He looks around the bunks. "I hope that thing wasn't living in here."
"Whoa! Hey, not nice. Get it!" Moxie yells. He points his pistol at the creature threateningly.
Moxie pulls up his notes and begins a detailed entry about finding the Djinni Mirage and the expenses incurred, including spent battery charges. He goes to inspect the creatures. "Anyone know what these things are?" When Anton and Xic are able to open the cargo bay, he joins them looking in. He steps up to peer inside at the crates and then the light. "What the heck?"
Moxie scuttles around Yoro, firing at the wounded one. "Who knows, but they don't like us being here!"
"Whoa, hey! Buy me dinner first at least! Or tell me your name!" Moxie draws his pistol and at first seems to try and club the creature before he jumps back.
"It sounds almost like a sinister child." Moxie becomes a bit more wary as they look around.
"Hey, where are you?" Moxie peeks around some of the crates.
Moxie glances around at the boxes. "Uh, hello? Is someone there?"
Moxie scurries into the room, unperturbed by the darkness. He looks around, immediately spotting the form of a ship. "Hey, there's a ship. Maybe we find two of them on this job!"
Moxie scurries out of the vent and then stretches himself up to work out the kinks. He dusts himself off and shakes out his fur. He peers up at the sign, not needing any light to read it. "Hey, 14b. We're getting closer, I think."
"Uh, why not? I mean, you see something that was bad? If there was something bad, you wouldn't let some friends stumble into it without knowing, right?"
"Very well. Your Majesty, may we have your leave to pass through? And perhaps return here if we need to? Should we prepare gifts for the other kingdoms?" Moxie shrugs at Anton.
Moxie nods as Chasey gets the drink from the machine. "Hey buddy. You seen anyone else come through here recently? We're hunting down some salvage. Anything interesting down here?"
"Aww, nah! Let's go have a chat!" Moxie winks at Xic, then nods to Chasey as he hears her voice in his head. The yoski crouches down peering into the darkness at the container as Chasey calls out to him.
"Hey! Nibs and a tea!" Moxie taps the machine and eagerly chows down on the chewy mix and the slurp bottle that is ejected. He looks at the others and burps. "There's a ladder down to the lower level over there." He points to the edge of the catwalk.
"Hey look," Moxie points to the vending machine across the bay. "Snacks."
Unperturbed by the darkness, Moxie ventures out a small distance on one of the catwalks to look down into the cargo bay while Chiaiese plays with the panel.
Moxie looks up at the crane. "You just want an excuse to play with it, huh? I mean, I guess there's no one to stop you. Not much in here you can wreck more than it already is."
"Heya Chasey. Good to have you with us. Friends call me Mox or Moxie. I hear you might be able to help us. You heard all about Bubs' missing ship, right? I mean if it's still there, it's his legal property...unless someone's stripped it for salvage already. But that doesn't negate our contract and finder's fee with him. So we just gotta find the little thing. Easy peasy. You're in, yeah?"
The yoski tugs on his whiskers and flicks his ears as he sees Chiaiese arrive. "Well, at least she's fast. I'll add her name to the fees list." He pull out a datapad to make the notation. "So what salvage did we find?"
"Ick!" Tremox kicks at the plant creature's corpse and shuffles away from it. "Anymore giant plant creatures in here we need to deal with?" He begins searching the room, digging through various scrap. He pops his head up when he hears Anton telling someone about where they are. "Hey! Who's is that? I mean, Bubs seems like he'll run whatever expense report we give him, but even I'm having a hard time stretching this one! What the hell am I gonna call that?" He motions back to the plant creature. "Hmm...How about 'Fungal extermination'. That sounds good...."
With the others now in place, Moxie continues waving his knife at the creature, then drawing his pistol with this other hand. "You want some of this?! You overgrown weed!"

"Whoa! What is that?!" Tremox jumps back, but then realizes that the vines might be able to reach him no matter what. He draws an oversized knife that he kept for scaring clients who were trying to weasel out of their fees. Then he waves it threateningly at the creature. "Hey Swamp-thing! You look like you need a pruning!"
"Hey..." Moxie's whiskers twitch and he sniffs at the air. He looks around the side of the shuttle. "Hey, there's some weird moss stuff growing on this side of the shuttle. Is any of yous know what it is?" He backs away from the shuttle and looks over some of the other tools, kicking one into the wall.
Moxies scuttles forward on all fours for a moment, looking around the skeleton of the shuttle. "Might sell for scrap, but otherwise, it just seems to be a bunch of junk."
"Ugh!" Moxie tries to brush the grime from his jacket. "Ah, this is going to have to go to the cleaners. What is that liquid foam residue? Ugh!" He looks out into the big space. "Well, this is interesting. Looks like our hanger isn't the only one that got locked away." He steps up to peer at the machinery with his yoski eyes. "A lotta salvage, it looks like."
"It might not be the fastest way through, but I think I know a way in. The biggest question is what we might find inside." Moxie looks at the others. "Who's ready for a bit of fun?" He turns to Bubs. "I'm sure you want to leave this to us, right, Vinter? Any injuries will be documented and noted in our bill. But we'll settle that later."
Tremox considers these options. "Eh, I can talk my way into trouble, no problem. It's sometimes talking us out of it that gets more exciting. Manufacturing some documents...eh, for flash purpose it might be possible. Nothing that would stand up to any scrutiny though."
Moxie raises his eyebrows. "200 credits a day is very generous, Bubs! I'm sure we'll be able to find something in the area tomorrow. As you can see, our technical advisors already have a few things worked out." He taps the menu plate, ordering himself another drink. "You'll have your answers soon enough. And if we do find your ship, I'll be prepared to file the necessary paperwork for you to get it back."
Tremox smiles at Bubs in between chewing on his wrap. "Relax, Bubs. We have to be thorough in our search if we're going to find this ship of yours. We spoke to someone I know who pointed us to an area that seems to have been redone. It might be that your hanger was sealed off during repairs or renovations." He wipes his mouth and whiskers to clean off any sauce. "So my friends and I decided to bring in Anton and Xic. They have some supreme technical knowledge and can help us compare the schematics and perhaps find a way into the area. That's what I'm hoping at least." He nods to the two of them. "Now, their expertise is critical, so we will need to ensure they're well compensated. I can add it to our fee, but I wanted to show you why we thought they could help. All above board." He motions for Anton to continue with the little holo-show. A bit of technical wizardry always helped. Moxie sips on a bulb of tea as he watches.
Great to have you on board, Anton! In fact, two mechanics! It will be an interesting addition. Moxie can obviously hook into Xic's background either having been involved with his less than legal endeavors or simply having known of him through his contacts in the DA's office. For Anton, it might be more straightforward. Moxie could have asked him to evaluate a datachip or help him track down who made a piece of tech. I could see them having a very transactional relationship.
"It has to be in the same spot though, right? I mean, maybe they turned it into a store or a spa or something." He peers at the map, zooming in and out on several points. "But there's gotta be a maintenance hatch or something around there. Maybe we can find someone who will open it up for us." He looks at his comm when it beeps. "Well there's the client now. And look, an expense-able meal! I could go for another daygu wrap. Whatcha say folks? We put in some good billable hours today."
I'm also still interested in playing. I actually thought you might put both groups together, but I get it if you didn't have any attrition in the other group. I think with Yoro, Moxie, and Thuldas, we're covering all the absolute musts (spellcaster, face, fighter). An operative might be nice, but so would other things, so I don't think we have a real preference.
Moxie blinks at Nibs. "It's not there anymore? Do you know where it was? Maybe we ought to go poke around there."
