”... how about you just nap for a bit?” Toska suggests, though he was relieved to see her back to her usual antics.
Toska snarls triumphantly before turning to Mazul ”You okay?”
Toska roars, in as much as a Kobold can, when the shadow fells Mazul, prompting him to begin hacking and failing into it before hopping over to Mazul's side and roaring again. ◆
"More undead. I'm shocked. This is my shocked face." Toska grumbles as he wills himself against the encroaching necrosis in the air before sauntering up to the shade. ◆ Interact (Draw Greatsword)
"Lighthouse. In The Darklands. Makes sense." Toska thinks aloud as he visualizes an inverted lighthouse going down into a deep dark place. While taking care to avoid the creepy blue light. "Gumdrop ain't gonna be happy to hear that."
Toska shrieks and hisses are the skeletons, instinctively clinging to positive memories as his fight or flight reflex gets jumbled. ◆ Rage (Positive)
Grumbling about not getting to try out his now runesmithed sword Toska draws his maul and scampers up between Zin and the skeletons. ◆ Interact (Draw)
At Mazul's request Toska takes a little notebook out of his backpack and begins writing. "Tifati. Azran. Ghanem. Docks District. On Death. Of Mazul." he thinks aloud as he simultaneously writes the words before he lifts his head up in thought, and then to Mazul. "What if you get turned into an undead?" As Wan cuts him off he doesn't hiss but does let out an annoyed hum through gritted teeth as the Tengu begins negotiating. When it works out in their favor the kobold's eyes go wide. "I didn't know that could work."
”Deal.” Toska replies without hesitation.
As the creatures falls Toska hops up and down in excitement before turning to Akkaboo. "That was awesome!"
Seeing Akkaboo light his sword up his eyes dilate momentarily at the "new" treasure before he resume his chopping frenzy on the monster. ◆
Toska snarls as the abomination savages Mazul, hefting his sword bits of the eerie light and soulstuff from the destroyed undead cling to his blade as he swings. ◆ Rage
"Thanks!" Toska grunts to the others before hissing and continuing to hack at the remaining undead. ◆
"... that ain't right," Toska says in a resigned tone as the dead rise and fling themselves below. Hefting his sword over his should he rushes the nearest one. ◆ Stride

"We can follow and think at the same time," Toska suggests.
”Nice!” Toska congratulates Mazul.
Hissing reflexively as Wan almost steps on him he readies himself and takes a deep breath... and then promptly exhales when he sees Akkaboo light the abomination up like a good meal. "Ya'know, I should being surprised we keep running into undead stuff." With that thought he promptly ignores common sense and attempts to hack up the mist into smaller mist bites. ◆ Step
Toska promptly seized and begins flailing once he’s hit by the eerie light.
Toska nods appreciatively at Wan and Zin, then promptly scampers off to get his weapon enchanted.
”Sure... wait, is this a metaphor or are you actually flirting now, I can never tell.” Toska thinks aloud as his eyes stay glued to the coin.
Toska angrily grumbles in his sleep when Wan brings up selling the magic weapon.
"No coffee, can't sleep then," Toska says before unceremoniously falling over and appearing to go to sleep.
Toska thinks it over for a long while. "Yeaaaah, we can't report to Gumdrop, and loot, if we're all dead."
As the mist dissipates Toska raises his hands up and screeches in victory, then promptly turning his attention back to Wan. ”Uh, can someone help him again?”
Toska cackles, and them promptly renews his onslaught. ◆
Toska lets out a vehement hiss, the kobold equivalent to a roar, and begins hacking in a mad frenzy at the creature crushing Wan as his blade becomes steeped in spite. ◆
Toska yelps in surprise, or rather annoyance as Wan blows up. He’s not all surprised that his toys blow up on him. Making him a casualty of the blast as well was a completely different story. Coughing and hissing Toska rushes under the smoking armor to attack the smoking... smoke thing across from Mazul. ◆
The kobold chuckles as Mazul gets flustered. ”Sorry, force of habit.” Taking it easy for the time being he scampers at a leisurely pace behind the others as they chase after the light. ”Wouldn’t doubt it,” he replied to the Rogue. ”And you can never have enough secret passageways.”
Toska twitches and blinks as Zin stabilizes him and brings him to. ”Did anyone loot me?” he groggily asks.
Toska lifts his head up, and up, and up as the Minotaur forms. ”Show off.” Focusing his rage, or rather, annoyance and spite, he tapped into his strife and drive as memories about harrowing tales of the dragons of old filled him with conviction. ”Know your place!” ◆
”Yeah, chasing after the dead lights was such a good plan,” Toska thinks aloud as they come across the skeleton beginning to reanimate. ”Spirits and Skeletons, what next?” Dropping his sword he takes out his mail and moves up on the unruly bones. ◇
"Great work, Mazul," Toska says before blinking a few times to readjust his eyes as Zin summons light for the others. "Hopefully it's just the mushroom people, and they're friendly. And not the dragon's lair. With a not-friendly dragon in it."
"Probably magic, I wouldn't poke-" Toska starts before he sees all of his compatriots prodding and touching the blood. Thankfully none of them had tried licking it. Yet. "If the person was dragged off for disposal the blood would have smeared and trailed," he belatedly responds to Mazul's suggestions in order to refocus. At Wan's complaints the kobold just shrugs. "Expect the worst, so you're always prepared. And sometimes surprised." "Rather fight mushrooms than dragons..." he adds under his breath.
"So more kobolds, and a swamp dragon? Probably a Black Scale... that could be bad." Toska thinks to himself as he scurries after the others. "And now.... ominous bloodstains. Fun."
Toska stares intently at the drama king even after he has given up his charade. ”... sweet-scales?”
”Slurks,” Toska promptly replies, before blinking. ”Wait, did you say ‘darted’? It wasn’t poisoned was it?”
"Amongst us small-and-not-welcome-in-all-places folk that was a universal call for backup," Toska guesses.
"S@**!" Toska lets out before running down the Mitflit with his greatsword. ◆
Toska blinks as the giant grub attempts to engage the group... and it promptly slashed and blasted into gooey chunks. Sending it's efforts off with a shrug he then rushes the Mitflit engaged with Mazul. ◆
The sack of spikes, being a sack of spikes, do not respond to Wan's affectionate praise. They simply remain a sack of spikes. Toska gives the bridge a few exploratory taps with a talon. "Seems pretty safe despite the age and neglect. It held you and the Slurk after all."
Toska holds up the backpack. "Eh, I'm not good with traps-not all kobolds are-but this one is pretty simple, a bunch of sharpened wood pieces and slag collected for easy deployment. Just lay it out somewhere and hope for someone to run into it. Their own momentum does most of the work."
Ready to strike the corpse a few more times out of impulse Toska snaps out of when Vin calls out to him. Scurrying over to the dying bird he does as instructed with morbid fascination. ”Don’t forget to clean the wounds,” he offers while looking at all the Slurk slime and guts. He didn’t know, well, anything about this style of cutting and sewing. But he knew there was no way any of that stuff getting inside would be good. Once Wan is up and squawking again the Kobold rolls his eyes as he wants to give up after one near death experience so soon. ”We still need to find out what’s making the bad light that’s giving Gumdrop nightmares.” Turning around and giving, in his assumption, a reassuring shoulder squeeze to the panicked rogue he then scampers over to the Slurk and the area it was guarding. Finding the dead Kobold he turns to the Slurk and says reverently ”You defended your master until the end. Or was saving some for food.” He then promptly goes through the Kobold’s things, prompting a happy squeak. ”More treasure! Oh, and a spike trap, decent grade too.”
Gasping when he sees the armored bird fall, Toska snarls as a soul biting cold envelops his sword. ◆

Toska blinks a few times as everyone starts introducing various lights to the darkness. ”Yeah, fire good.” At least that was a good trade-off he thought. ”Oh hey, a Slurk. We use them as mounts and guards... wonder if there’s other Kobolds here?” Toska thinks aloud before the Slurk in question begins fulfilling the latter part of that description. ”Oi! No eating our scout, we need her!” The rest of what he was saying devolves into gibberish growling as he hops towards the creature with his sword raised. ◆
”We’ve committed a faux pass haven’t we?” Toska thinks aloud before scurrying about the room, letting a suppressed shriek of delight upon spotting the tiny shiny sphere. Picking it up he gets a furtive look on his face before shaking his head and holding it up for group, palm open for them all to see. ”We have acquired treasure. This venture is already providing results.”
"Of course you'd have an advantage. That's the point!" If Mazul knew Toska better, (and he was a bit taller), she'd throw a friendly arm around his shoulders. As things stand she just gestures wildly. "People won't believe a short guy like you could beat them. You'd get to challenge stereotypes about kobolds being scrawny little things while also earning some cash! I made some money that way when I first came here, a lot of them didn't think a girl could win a strength contest, half-orc or no. To be fair, sometimes I couldn't, the muscles aren't entirely what they used to be." Toska's eyes widen in realization before looking up at Mazul,"You are more clever than you let on." Wan turns his attention to Toska. "I deign not my efforts, frost-kissed dragonkin, that of sheer mail-smithing. I consider myself an artist, a composer of a single technological symphony. Proto is my yet-incomplete magnum opus, but with the proper attention, investment, and --- let's be frank --- a fat load of coin, I should be able to see my epiphanies manifest to their fullest!" Toska stares at Proto. Smith. Got it. ~~~ "Wrong scales for this," Toska grumbles aloud as the ragtag group makes their way through the fen, though other than having to more or less swim through certain parts compared to his long legged compatriots he didn't complaim for much, the mosquitos couldn't bother him, and he made notes of where all the frog songs were coming from in case he got hungry later. "No undead around thankfully, you can still hear everything alive going about their lives. Undead around, everything's quiet cause everything's dead or gone." He was about to ask, again, why a lighthouse was built in the middle of the swamp when they reached their destination and Mazul, then the others, began conversing with the occupants in a language he didn't know. He arches a brow when she reveals their "master plan" to get them to eat mud. "I think I rather be dealing with undead."
