Hey. Anybody here enter the D&D Fan Film contest mentioned in Dragon Magazine?

Go here to see my entry:
http://www.gamevideos.com/video/channel/DnD

Mine is called "Unnamed Dungeon." Its preview thumbnail is a cartoony solid purple beholder.

You can rate videos by clicking "Rate It" on the right side of the screen. Official voting for the winner does not begin until the 15th, though.

My film has some text that you'll need to read, so you might wanna download the movie rather than watch it stream, that way you can make your video-player bigger before you watch it. (If you download "Unnamed Dungeon," it begins on the 46th second by mistake. So rewind it first to see it from the beginning.)

Hope you get a kick out of it!

Watch a few before you watch mine, to warm you up.

:)

Hi, Tony here.

Does anybody know anything about this game? I haven't played in so long that I've forgotten how to play. And I can't find the rules or the map!!! If I could see a picture of the map, I could draw my own. But I've totally forgotten the rules. Heck, I've forgotten the game's NAME!

Wizard of......Something?

To see an image of the chits, surf to: www.zogonia.com/gallery

Thanks!

What does KACK mean, and where did the word
originate?

I can't find any info on it. I'm thinking it's slang for kill, or kill with a gun.

Holy crap, there's a monster in issue #124 that has creeped me out. It's the female mummy Arodnap, in the Chamber of Antiquities. Damn. I am completely creeped out.

I mean, being DIGESTED is bad enough. But by a mummy? Eeeeek! Run away! Run awaaaay!

SPOILER ALERT: If you haven't seen Episode 3 of Star Wars, go away!

Good, you're still here. I just wanted to shout into the Void about one teensy, tiny, almost sub-atomic thing that bugged me about Episode 3.

Before Vader has his legs cut-off on the lava planet, Obi-Wan warns him not to attack a foe on higher ground. Naturally, Vader attacks anyway. So, as if to prove his point, Obi-Wan cuts off Vader's legs. Remember that? Good.

Now remember back to the moment when Obi-Wan killed Darth Maul in Episode 1. Obi-Wan was dangling in a FRIKKIN PIT. Darth Maul was on the edge of the pit, looking down at Obi-Wan. If anybody ever had the advantage of higher ground, it was Darth Maul at that moment. And yet Obi-Wan LEAPS out of the pit and cuts Darth Maul in HALF!!

That's my teensy-tiny, almost sub-atomic gripe. Considering the manner in which he killed Darth Maul, it was WRONG of Obi-Wan to lecture Anakin about the advantages of higher ground. Sheesh!

Anyhow, thank you for listening, Void. And don't get me wrong, Episode 3 rocked my world.

Hi, Tony Moseley here--the guy who does the Zogonia comic.

Zogonia.com is now a living, breathing website! There isn’t a huge pile of cartoonage up, at present; however, all my Mt. Zogon strips from Dungeon Magazine have been archived. :)

Please pass the word to your Game Crew, and to any other messageboards you visit where you think people might be interested.

:)

Hi, Tony "Mt. Zogon" Moseley here.

At long last, I have removed the “under construction” sign at zogonia.com and replaced it with......(drum roll)......a WEBSITE!

Please take a look. There isn’t a ton of content yet, but all the Mt. Zogons published in Dungeon are there. Plus one extra.

Please pass the word to your buddies, and to any other messageboards you visit where you think people might be interested.

Hey, all. I bought the SWERVE comics for sale in the Paizo store. They were done by Kyle Hunter, who does the Downer comic (which I love).

I enjoyed 'em, and assign them 5 out of 6 pips. I had to subtract a pip for the pop culture references, which were a bit out-of-date. Yeh yeh, the comic was made 9 years ago...but that's no excuse for Kyle not predicting the future. :)

You can certainly tell the comic was made by Kyle. It was fun. It was like 2 parts The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy mixed with 1 part The Phantom Menace, blended within a blender until soupy, then injected into the vein of an episode of Futurama.

What if folks who subscribed to both Dragon and Dungeon got free shipping after $25 of purchases from the store, instead of the present $100?

If you use this idea, send me a Dungeon Warduke t-shirt, size M. Haha.

:)

Hi, Tony the creator of "ZOGONIA" here. Some of you may not know it, but the orc-with-pie 'joke' in the strip was a parody of a famous dungeon written by Monte Cook.

Check out Mr. Cook's "The Orc and the Pie" dungeon here:
http://www.montecook.com/arch_lineos11.html

The strip is my personal homage to Mr. Cook's prolific greatness. You don't 'need' to have read Mr. Cook's dungeon to appreciate the strip, but you should read it anyway--if you haven't already. Which I'm sure you have. (...except for YOU. And that guy over there.)

If you are asking, "Who is Monte Cook?" then read this interview at GamingReport.com:

A Vin Diesel interview would be fun to read, since he's mentioned being a gamer on TV in interviews. The article could talk about how he started gaming, what published adventures he's adventured in, his favorite character, whatever. Then have Wayne Reynolds paint his portrait as a D&D character fighting a dragon, with Kirsten Dunst as his half-elf sorcerer sidekick, and put it on the cover.

Oh yeh, and it's raining in the painting, so Kirsten is wet.

Man, I'm full of good ideas today. :)

I swear I'm not blind or stupid, but it took me several minutes of clicking and looking to figure-out how to order a subscription to Dungeon. I was looking and looking and looking on the order page for the Add To Cart button, and the only button I could find was the one to add both Dragon AND Dungeon at the same time--which I didn't want to do, as I already have a subscription to Dragon; I just wanted Dungeon.

Eventually (sigh) I noticed the hyperlink.

For people like me who are spoiled by Add To Cart buttons, please consider adding an Add to Cart button for a regular 1-year subscription. I seriously thought the website was defective and was about a half-second from leaving and placing my order with a paper check.

PS: I really dig the new website, btw.

Tony

So there I was, in the Paizo online store with a Dungeon subscription and several back issues in my shopping cart. Having finished shopping, I clicked the button to proceed to checkout. And then came the time to choose the credit card...and there was no Discover Card option. Ack!

The only card I have is a Discover Card!

Not wanting to abandon my order, I used my wife's VISA to finish the order. Now I'm going to have to buy her a hundred dollars worth of flowers or something, to even things out.

Anyhow, please consider adding Discover Card to your store.

PS: I like the new website's format much more than the old one. Ten times more.

Tony

Know what might be neat? If you Dungeon-guys stuck a dungeon in Dragon. (Literally!)

Like a 10 page separate, complete, stapled dungeon that is sticky-glued in the middle of Dragon--where the posters go.

Sticky-glued so it could be yoinked-out.

That would be hella-cool.
