About Tobin 3.5E
Tobin is the middle son in the large Longbottom clan, a family of farmers specialising in high-quality pipeweed. The family farm lies several miles from Daggerford, in a sheltered location well-suited to producing their signature crop.
Unlike his brothers and sisters, Tobin showed little interest in farming - feeling that it was an affront to nature to rise before the sun had warmed the land for an hour or two. Despite his tendency to indolence, Tobin still managed to make himself useful to his parents by constantly fiddling with the farm equipment - either repairing it or improving it. He would also entertain his siblings while they worked, with japes, practical jokes, and pratfalls. Tobin is always looking for the most efficient (or least effortful) way to accomplish any task, and his quick mind and nimble fingers often seem to produce solutions that others haven't considered. He's very interested in the world and the people around him, and is eager to find out and experience more.
Tobin's inquisitiveness and gregarious nature soon led him to become dissatisfied with the fairly insular life to be found on the Longbottom farm. He was always keen to accompany his mother on her trips into Daggerford to sell the family's produce, when he would chatter endlessly to the other merchants who were passing through town - often while performing some minor repairs on their caravans. He also made frequent visits to Bando the Lame, the priest of Tymora, to lend a hand - while asking for the story of his old adventures once more.
Tall for a halfling, with long legs and a slight tendency to stoutness around the middle, Tobin has fair skin and reddish-brown hair. His open, cheerful face and positive outlook means that he seldom rubs people the wrong way - except hardbitten pessimists, who find his carefree manner highly irritating.
Tobin feels that he hasn't yet found his role in life, but is sure that it will eventually reveal itself to him, so long as he keeps poking his nose into other people's affairs!
