CLASS:

Weapon and Armour Proficiency
Summoners are proficient with all simple weapons. Summoners are also proficient with light armour. A summoner can cast summoner spells while wearing light armour without incurring the normal arcane spell failure chance.
Cantrips
You have learned a number of cantrips, or 0-level spells. These spells are cast like any other spells, but they do not consume any slots and may be used again.
Eidolon (Ex)
A summoner begins play with the ability to summon to his side a powerful outsider called an eidolon. The eidolon forms a link with the summoner, who, forever after, summons an aspect of the same creature. An eidolon has the same alignment as the summoner that calls it. Eidolons are treated as summoned creatures, except that they are not sent back to their home plane until reduced to a number of negative hit points equal to or greater than their Constitution score. In addition, due to its tie to its summoner, an eidolon can touch and attack creatures warded by protection from evil and similar effects that prevent contact with summoned creatures. A summoner can summon his eidolon in a ritual that takes 1 minute to perform. When summoned in this way, the eidolon hit points are unchanged from the last time it was summoned. The only exception to this is if the eidolon was slain, in which case it returns with half its normal hit points. The eidolon remains until dismissed by the summoner (a standard action). If the eidolon is sent back to its home plane due to damage, it cannot be summoned again until the following day. The eidolon cannot be sent back to its home plane by means of dispel magic, but spells such as dismissal and banishment work normally.
Life Link (Su)
A close bond is formed with his eidolon. Whenever the eidolon takes enough damage to send it back to its home plane, the summoner can, as a free action, sacrifice any number of hit points. Each hit point sacrificed in this way prevents 1 point of damage done to the eidolon. This can prevent the eidolon from being sent back to its home plane. In addition, the eidolon and the summoner must remain within 100 feet of one another for the eidolon to remain at full strength. If the eidolon is beyond 100 feet but closer than 1,000 feet, its current and maximum hit point totals are reduced by 50%. If the eidolon is more than 1,000 feet away but closer than 10,000 feet, its current and maximum hit point totals are reduced by 75%. If the eidolon is more than 10,000 feet away, it is immediately returned to its home plane. Current hit points lost in this way are not restored when the eidolon gets closer to its summoner, but its maximum hit point total does return to normal.
Summon Monster (Sp)
Summon Monster 1 (Sp) ~ (6 per day) cast as a standard action and the creatures remain for 1 minutes (instead of 1 rounds). Drawing upon this ability uses up the same power as the summoner uses to call his eidolon. As a result, he can only use this ability when his eidolon is not summoned.

BACKGROUND:

Tiomir was the sickly child.

Born in Magnimar to Feilz Flickerblade and Airin Redsky, Tiomir was the fourth child in an already large household. His father, Feilz, was a renowned bard, maestro and actor, and one of the leading forces on Magnimar's cultural scene. His mother, Airin, was a former adventurer, a brigand and rogue, with greed in her green-tainted eyes. Their engagement and relationship was a curious mystery in the social corners of Magnimar, yet Feilz defended it fiercely whenever it became subject of concern - he was in love, he would boast. She never reciprocated this notion.

Tiomir was scarcely fifteen when his father died abroad, to deliver a performance for the royal family in Korvosa. His mother had put on a show, but neither he nor his three siblings were convinced she truly cared. The confirmation was validated when the will was read: all of Feilz's wealth were to be split between her and his children, evenly.

Tiomir's oldest sibling, his sister Mirai, took up her father's swordsplay. She woved to learn all the stories he knew, and become a bard of equal renown. The second in line, his brother Frain, joined his father's troupe, blessed with his voice and his acting. The younger sister, Eliosa, travelled the world as a scholar; always engrossed in books and libraries, she woved to match their father's lore one day. Tiomir was left alone with his irate mother, and a sickness he could never shake off.

With the inheritance, he bought his own house, away from the Summit and into Lowcleft, and he set to his own passion. He could only read, but he did so well, and he began amassing knowledge. He bought bookshelves and filled them to the brim, his knowledge of history, the arcane and the planar growing.

He was thirty when the magic quickened in his veins. Fitting of his planar studies, he summoned forth a royal beast in gold and red from a great gate of stone. With wolflike features, yet decorated with plumes, the beast proved to be curious of the mortal world, and bound its loyalties to Tiomir.

The eidolon grew to become rather famous in the streets where he lived, and a boon for Tiomir. Rufus, as he was named, was intelligent and helpful, capable of carrying Tiomir around without incident. His success in this summoning caught the attention of some wizards at the wizard school, the Stone of the Seers. He was offered an education on the contingency that he became a teacher of theory. Tiomir accepted with a smile.

During his education he took up archery as another hobby. He was forty-four when he became a fully fledged scholar and teacher. The experience was magnificent, he thought, as he met new students every year, the wizards would share their research, tales would be told, new tomes would be brought in to be read. The ill-rumoured Bleaching never arrived, and Tiomir was grateful.

When he was eighty-one, closing in on his thirtieth year of being a teacher, there were particular students that came to study for a year or two at the Stone of the Seers. Nobles from Brevoy, from different houses, Tiomir only heard rumours of some attempted truce - yet all he saw were children, some spoilt and some humble, that took their seats by their desks. It was then Tiomir got to know Syra Aldori, young, curious and good-spirited; and Rimi Lebeda, an intellectual opportunist. They grew to be some of his favourite students, and they both reciprocated the notion; they would meet after class, and Syra would swoon over Rufus, Rimi would go on and on about arcane theory, mathematics, Tiomir would respond with talk of fine art and literature. Scarce three years went past when the younglings all left - Syra sadly mentioned something about a broken truce. When they left, Tiomir knew he would miss them.

Tiomir never understood politics between noble houses. He began researching this country, sending letters to schools and libraries in Brevoy: to Grayhaven and Highdelve, New Stetven and Restov, Silverhall and Skywatch, and other names that his fellow teachers and students could share. He requested books, of any manner, and his name and renown in the circles of academia and arcane made this possible. When the books arrived, he took to study once more, to try to understand.

He was eighty-eight when the letter arrived from Syra Aldori. A name he vividly remembered. The wedding invitation was formal and stiff, as expected of nobility. There was another note as well, written by the girl - or lady, as her nobility would entail - far more personal; she wrote she would be overjoyed if her old teacher could show up with the beautiful Rufus. It was fitting, he thought, as the bright red colour of his hair had begun to pale, and his skin was growing white. Rufus had noticed too and was nudging him on the road of adventure. It had been eighty-eight years before the Bleaching had begun - what better way to celebrate than to attend a wedding?

He travelled to Brevoy, and arrived in Silverhall where he stumbled upon Rimi. The noble, a man grown now, well over twenty-eight, was pleased to host his bed and fast for a couple of nights. It was then he got to know of the Stolen Lands and their current status. Rimi mentioned rumours of Swordlords and the game of politics, with half a sigh, and half ambition. They reminisced for several days before Tiomir had to make his way to Restov - he was eager to see Brevoy's roads, and experience the first trip of his life.

What Rimi had told him nagged in the back of his head. The boy's opportunistic glare was contagious, he decided, as Tiomir mused the thought that, if he were to stop the Bleaching in its tracks, Brevoy was sure to give him the opportunity.

DESCRIPTION:

This old gnome looks very welcoming if judged only by his clothes. He stands at three and a half feet, and seems slightly thinner than most gnomes his age. He wears scholarly robes gilded in gold and deep red, perfectly tailored for someone of his minuscule stature. Spectacles hang from around his neck, in a silver chain. His eyes, however, have an unsettling quality. His hair, ruffled, is of a pale gold, as if washed out. At eighty-eight, his face is young, but his skin is pale, and he appears tired constantly. A short, well-groomed beard decorates his jawline; a ring is tied to the end of his chin growth, which reaches to his chest.

He speaks slowly, and is often in deep thought; his interest in both archery and the Planes is well-known by most of his students. He is left handed.

SPELLS:

None applicable.

FEATS:

Power Attack

SKILLS:

Class skills: Acrobatics (Dex), Bluff (Cha), Craft (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Knowledge (Arcana) (Int), Knowledge (Planes) (Int), Perception (Wis), Sense Motive (Wis), Stealth (Dex) and Survival (Wis)

Acrobatics +3 (+1 Rank, +2 Dex)
Diplomacy +4 (+1 Rank, +3 Class)
Knowledge (Planes) +2 (+1 Rank, +3 Class, -2 Int)
Perception +4 (+1 Rank, +3 Class)

EVOLUTIONS:

Claws (Ex)
An eidolon has a pair of vicious claws at the end of its limbs, giving it two claw attacks. These attacks are primary attacks. The claws deal 1d4 points of damage (1d6 if Large, 1d8 if Huge). The eidolon must have the limbs evolution to take this evolution. This evolution can only be applied to the limbs (legs) evolution once This evolution can be selected more than once, but the eidolon must possess an equal number of the limbs evolution.

Pounce (Ex)
When you make a charge, you can make a full attack (including rake attacks if you also have the rake ability).

Tail (Ex)
An eidolon grows a long, powerful tail. This grants it a +2 racial bonus on Acrobatics checks made to balance on a surface. This evolution can be selected more than once.

EIDOLON:

Link (Ex)
A summoner and his eidolon share a mental link that allows for communication across any distance (as long as they are on the same plane). This communication is a free action, allowing the summoner to give orders to his eidolon at any time. In addition, magic items interfere with the summoner's connection to his eidolon. As a result, the summoner and his eidolon share magic item slots. For example, if the summoner is wearing a ring, his eidolon can wear no more than one ring. In case of a conflict, the items worn by the summoner remain active, and those used by the eidolon become dormant. The eidolon must possess the appropriate appendages to utilize a magic item.
Share Spells (Ex)
The summoner may cast a spell with a target of "You" on his eidolon (as a spell with a range of touch) instead of on himself. A summoner may cast spells on his eidolon even if the spells normally do not affect creatures of the eidolon's type (outsider). Spells cast in this way must come from the summoner spell list. This ability does not allow the eidolon to share abilities that are not spells, even if they function like spells.

DESCRIPTION:

On four paws, the eidolon draws attention with its uncanny appearance. It stands with all the features of a great wolf, yet they don't add up to truly convince that it is a canid of any sort. Rufus' stands at four feet to the shoulder. His coat is red and gold, meshed together in a scripture-like pattern. Around the root of his paws and his neck are great plumes, sticking out from underneath the fur. The front paws sport six digits each, with sharp golden claws. From the tip of his snout to the tip of the long, bushy tail he reaches ten feet, four which belong to the tail. His red eyes are eerily similar to those of his master Tiomir's.

Despite its otherworldly nature, Rufus has been in this world for over forty years years, and has over the course of his life amongst mortals been slowly accepted as Tiomir's companion. He is by nature protecting, but also curious enough that four decades spent in mostly the same area has not been enough to satisfy his curiosity.
