TL;DR: I played pathfinder for the first time at a convention and would like to look more into it and maybe get into contact with the people at the table that were playing.
Last weekend I went to a convention(A-kon) and was wandering around in the gaming room after playing a game of D&D4e. I have had previous experience with 3.5 edition, but playing 4e was almost like playing a foreign game to me. Sure there were some aspects of D&D that I was familiar with but all in all it just didn't seem like the game that I knew and loved. I came across this marvelous table top game that had some miniatures on it and was awestruck when I happened to have glanced at someone's character sheet. Immediately I noticed that it was almost line for line and letter for letter the character sheet that I was familiar with and just had to ask what game they were playing and why it seemed so similar. Sitting down at the table right when someone rage quit because they were walking into melee range with a wizard against a shambling mound; I started talking to the man who owned the character. Now I'm not truly the best when it comes to recollection and for the life of me I can not remember the name of the kind gentleman, (one person at the tables character name was Coldahara, not sure if spelling is correct)and they introduced me to the game, gave me a pre-reg character, who happened to be a cleric, the class that I would say I'm probably the most acquainted with. And after that starting off with 17 hit points and everyone at less then 50% "saved the day"(not particularly but would have been a tpk if i hadn't started spam channeling). We continued on with "The Dog Pharaoh's Tomb" and I'd have to say that I quite enjoy the game very much. Until I stood too close to the fighter against the mummy at the end of the module and got paralized which wasnt fun at all(hind-sight I should have stood 5 more feet behind him). At this point I think I'm rambling on. Long story short, I would very much like to get more into Pathfinder, and if at all possible come into contact again with the gents who introduced me to the game. All I have is a wooden coin, a chronicle certificate, and the gms pathfinder society #.
