High Concept: An Agent Versus The Monsters
Thomas was recruited after having run across this organization in his various investigations that lead to the strange and supernatural. Even without the agency’s backing he managed to deal with and close several cases, which made him a prime recruit.

Trouble: Peace in Two Worlds
Thomas has to live into two different worlds. The Agency head wants the monsters dealt with by any means necessary while Thomas who has to work and deal with the good supernatural beings knows that cannot be the case or he looses the help and contacts that he has earned over the years.[/spoiler]

Other Aspects:

Mother’s Journals
Thomas grew up in a loving home. His mother, Alice, was a police officer. She would often come home late in the evening and tell Thomas the most wonderful stories of all sorts of mythical creatures. Thomas’ father, Jason, was a EMT. They always made sure to give Thomas the time he needed or have someone there to be there for him. Several months after graduating from the Police Academy his Mother went missing. His parents’ home was in shambles and his Father accused of murdering her. Jason was tried and convicted on circumstantial evidence and gave no testimony in his defense. Something was wrong, very wrong. Thomas looked into the matter himself and found many inconsistencies. He also discovered boxes of his Mother’s journals in a storage facility that the police did not find. These journals contained many of the stories Thomas had heard as a kid, and more. It had sketches and information on monsters and creatures beyond belief. It also had contact names, locations, and numbers. Thomas checked out some of the information and it was all true, but the mention of his mother brought about strange responses, some friendly others not. And no one would comment on what happened to her. A few of those contacts and friends became Thomas’, and sometimes call upon him for help. Thomas’ girlfriend Alex had most of the journals digitized for him years later. Today Thomas carries or has access to those encrypted files.

I’ve Seen Worse:
After Thomas’s Mother went missing and his Father imprisoned for her alleged death exposed the young police officer to some strange people and even more strange events. With this newfound help Thomas was able to ‘close’ many cases that might have never been solved. He also ran across several Federal investigations which got him noticed by the FBI. His tactics and ways might be different but he got the right results in front of the right people. As a FBI agent Thomas began to rely more on his ‘otherly’ contacts. This of course exposed him more to their world and troubles. He’s seen many things that haunt him to his day and felt some hurt from creatures most folks could not begin to fathom.

Blood Price:
It had been a quiet week for those who worked at "Mosnters R Us" so Thomas decided to take the team out for a round of drinks. A few hours later mostly everyone had left for home or wherever else they might go to let off the rigors of this job. That left Alexandra, a fellow agent who Thomas had been seeing for most of a year. They had kept things quiet, but the team knew. The couple departed the establishment before eleven and and for Alex's place. It was not too far that the couple was set upon by a half dozen Red Court vampires. A brief fire fight ensued but they were no match for the vampires numbers, even if the pair managed to injure most of them. The vamps threw the pair in a van and took them someplace private. Arriving they pair were tied up and their leader, an up and coming leader in the Red Court, Christopher Wade. He knew the pair and was pleased his comrades captured them. They went about torturing both Thomas and Alex. Christopher made a point to distress Thomas the most, taking to feeding on Alex personally. Hours had past and Alex was finally dead. The vampires closed to end Thomas' life but there was a large crash, a large section of the wall now missing. His rescuers had arrived. Now, whenever vampires are encountered, they are dealt with harshly.

Someone Call for Back Up
A lioness prowled where she once stood, then leapt. The vampire & lion fought tooth and claw amongst the club patron until the fight spilled onto the street...

As the vampire and lion continued to fight into the street and with way to many more witnesses Thomas made his move. He called out, "FBI! Everyone down!" Those nearby were at once torn from the ensuing battle and attempted to get out of the way in some manner.

Sidearm drawn he waited for the opening and suddenly it was there, the lion was thrown into a side ally leaving the monster in the open. Shots rang out with the screams of those nearby. The vampire turned and hissed in Thomas' direction and took several more shots. With his clip now empty he was reaching for another, but it would not be necessary. A shot or two had pieced the creature's abdomen and blood was emptying onto the sidewalk. With a curse of frustration the vampire turned and fled towards the opposite alleyway from the lion.

Thomas approached the alley of the lion and nodded the beast still ready for a fight. The lion again became a rather naked young woman and she quickly collected her clothing behind a dumpster. As the local authorities were on their way Thomas looked to the girl, "I suggest you get out of here. I'll handle it from here" He held out his badge as the officers rushed the man holding a gun and began explaining what had occurred, or at least a version that they would buy.A band of Red Court vampires came across Thomas and his longtime girlfriend, Alex one evening. The creatures tortured and fed upon Alex making him watch the entire ordeal. Thomas now deals with vampires most harshly.

Got That
Thomas’ cell phone rang and he looked to see who it was. Lawrence. Must be important, he thought. Answering the call he flipped open his notepad and took out a pen, “Heya Lawrence. What’s happening?” With a few uh-huhs and okays Thomas had an address and was on his way to an area known as the Hovel. He arrived twenty minutes later to find a gentleman by the name of Seil. He had some information regarding a group of vampires taking up shop in the Hovel and scaring a lot of good folk. At the sound of vampires, Thomas was all over the idea of taken these nasties on. Seil looked at Agent and asked if he was going to go in after vampires with just a handgun. Thomas smiled and moved to the back of his older Land Rover opened the back up and started to gear up in some light body armor, grabbed up a black backpack that had compact sub-machine gun velcroed to the side of it, and picked up a shotgun. “I’m ready now.” With that, the pair headed for trouble.

Stunts:

Corner of My Eye (Alertness): When successfully rolling Alertness passively to pick up on details, gain an additional 2 shifts. This reflects the ability to pick up on more pieces of information, but it does not improve the depth of that information (which would take things into the realm of Investigation).

Fast Reload (Guns): Provided that you have a supply of ammunition, reloads are rarely an issue. You take no penalty when reloading as a supplemental action (page 213); if you’re in a race to see who reloads first, or anything else having to do with your speed or ability to reload, gain a +1 on the roll.

Honest Lies (Deceit): Whenever incorporating a real, valuable piece of the truth (however marginally valuable it may be) into a lie, you gain a +2 on your efforts to pass off the untrue parts.

I Know Just the Guy (Contacts): When you’re looking to gather some information from your network of contacts, you have unerring instincts for finding the right person, fast. When using the Gathering Information trapping (page 123), your efforts are at a +1 and are 1 time increment (page 315) faster.

No Pain, No Gain (Endurance): You can take a bunch of punishment before it starts to add up. You may take one additional mild physical consequence (page 203).

Scene of the Crime (Investigation): You have a practiced eye when combing over a crime scene. In such a circumstance, you gain +1 to your Investigation roll and arrive at your findings one step faster than usual on the time table (page 315).

Other Notes:

The Team:

These are the prominent members of the team that Thomas works with in New York City.

Aaron Dix - Special Agent-in-Charge - Interested only in results. As long as it appeases his superiors, he’s a happy person. The man does not often leave the teams HQ unless the situation warrants his attention and then there is usually hell to pay. (nickname by his lessers Agent Dick)

Nikki Watts - Special Agent - Is the teams go to person for pretty much anything. If you need it, she can get it for you. She is a capable agent in the field.

Grady Stiles - Lieutenant, First Class - A gifted Marine sniper. He has seen supernatural mass in the middle of warzone overseas. He was able to keep his cool and deal with them, but no one would believe what he saw. He was transferred to the team several years ago and has been a good fit, a team player.

Markus Black - Chief Warrant Officer - Army tactics. Oldest team member, but he can handle himself in a fight. Markus deals with explosives for the team when called upon. The man does what is required of him, but is a complete pain in the ass and most prejudice against those of supernatural origins.

Jessie Price (aka Jester) - Special Agent - Jess is the computer tech of the team. He normally sits at the office and will relay needed information to the team. He earned the Jester nickname for the pranks that he plays on others.

Cameron Wu - Probationary Agent - Is the Newby of the group. He was just transferred from Seattle where he was a police officer. He had several dealins with the Jade Court Vampires and has lived to tell the tale. He has taken it in stride and the weirdness has not phased him at all.
