Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

So ... No signs of life yet : /

On the other hands, Hell on Wheels are finally premièring on the local television: )

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Yey I'm back ! Lets hope Fist rises from the dead then : )

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

I'm going for vacation for two weeks and I'm not sure if I can get to the internet then. Just in case, I'll wish you a happy new year (and merry christmas, if you celebrated it :)). Feel free to NPC my char meanwhile :)

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

"There is a rope here - I don't know what it's attached to. Might be some sort of transportation, or warning system. One thing is sure however, I don't think someone would bother to tie a rope in the middle of nowhere just for s&&#s and giggles so Pete was probably right. I don't think we are going to make it to the shooting in time to make a difference, so I suggest we take the cautious approach and see if we can grab Slate nice and quiet. What do you think ?"

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

"Yeah - right no time to waste."

With those words Thel throws the gun to Ember.

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Thel snaps out of his thinking as Pissbuckets screams echoed across the night. He turns away from his vantage point and looks at the fleeing lizard, cursing under his breath.

"Let the lizard run - we have a bigger catch that might slip away! We need to get to the camp and make sure we get Slate before someone steals him away. *sigh* That cursed piece of stink probably woke every soul in this dammed canyon - those that didn't notice the gunfire that is". he takes another movement to contemplate and catch his breath "There is still a chance that whoever that's doing the shootin' are still distracting the camp, so I say we still got a shot at this. What do ya think?"

Thel starts to make his way carefully towards the sound of the battle, intent on seeing what's up.

Will move towards the gunfire and try to estimate the distance, or get a view of what is going on

Initiative 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

Stealth 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34

Perception 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Still here - got some tests coming up shortly, and I assume that I'm not the only one who has lots of stuff to do before christmas :) The other pbps I'm in is also going quite slow, I think it's because it's hard to sit down and devote a lot of time to pbp in this chaos.

@Ember: ouch - hope you get well soon : )

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Thel returns after the slightly disappointing scouting - atleast with Talured's help they managed to find some footsteps. He gestures towards the opening in the wall.

"There are a few footsteps leading in that direction - but they are far to few to be trusted with any accuracy. My vote is on finding out what our sleeping friend here knows ... "

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

It would be a nice souvenir and backup, but if someone of you wants to use it in combat I can pass

"I can see if I can find some footprints atleast, that should give us an indication on which path that has seen most recent travel. Personally, I hope one of our friends here could tell us - but I'll take a look."

With those words Thel gestures towards the snoring man and the lizard. He then takes of to check out the paths - being extremely careful not to destroy any footprints or other signs of use.

Survival roll to check out the first 100-200 feets of the paths and try to determinate how and when people have been travelling on them: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13 (+2 extra if it counts as tracking, an extra +2 if it turns into a desert again :P)

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Thel moves quickly to tie up and gag Pete, in case he fights off the effects of the poison (DC to escape: 27, DC to burst 24). He then quickly scans the camp, seeing a few things of interest (and some scary things, he wasn't quite sure he liked the smile on Tals face when he looks at the gunpowder keg). He picks up the the strange gun, thinking back on the last time he held a firearm in his hands ...

Ember, I think we got them all - you can come over here now. he throws a glance at the still smiling Talured Before someone blows us all to the skies..

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Not wanting to waste another perfectly good arrow, and with the close proximity to his companions, Thel decides to close the distance to the remaining sentry. He draws his shortsword on the way, its clean metallic edge glittering in the campfire light.

Sleep tight little man, you might actually live to see the sunrise..

So much for your senseless war my friend -

Move action to close 30 ft. drawing the shordsword as a part of it. The bow remains held in the offhand. Another move action to close another 30 ft, preferably ending up in a flanking position or with a clear lane to the remaining guard next round.

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Think fast Pete...

Thel rises from behind the rocks in and fires a poisoned arrow aimed at Pete. As his heart sings he swiftly reaches for another poisoned arrow to ready his second shot. The hunt is on!

Attack roll: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15 Damage 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Poison DC: 13 initial: unconsciousness for a minute
frequency: 1/min for 2 min - unconsciousness for 2d4 hours

Initiative 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

edit: Is pete the one in armour or cowboy hat ? The last conversation he appears to be the unarmored guy, but at first he is referred to as the "giant" ... I'm aiming for the potential gunslinger if there is any doubt (cowboy hat).

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Yeah, I think we are just waiting to see if they have anything more intresting to say before Grym makes his move : ) Oh, and I'm fairly sure that was an earthbreaker you picked up Tal:
Earth breaker 40 gp 2d6 x3 — 14 lbs. B

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Thel waits behind a small rock away from the camp, straining his ears to hear the conversation or the subtle swiching sound of a drawn knife. He carefully readies his bow with an poisoned arrow and throws a glance at the camp.

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Thel nods at Buckets words. He quickly looks for some cover to sneak up behind and then turns to the party, whispering. His eyes are bright and exited, his grin wide and all the anxiety from earlier is gone.

"What do you think ? Shall we try to bypass them or dispatch of them swiftly ? I have some poisoned arrows just for this occasion... Lets hope noone hears the noise if the guns start blazeing... I'll just follow Tal and take a look real quick, be back soon."

He fetches his bow and arrows and follows Talured into the darkness...

perception 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
stealth 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 27

If this still counts as a dessert then I (and everyone else!) gets +2 on Stealth, Perception and Initiative =)

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

I'm fine with moving things forward.

I agree with Talured - these cursed birds give me the devils chills.

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Thel calms down a little after realizing how absurd his thoughts were. Dead birds spying for a bandit. Heh... but then, they are up for no good those unholy critters.

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Thel starts looking around for a suitable three when he suddenly realizes something. He quickly turns back to the buried man.

These .... birds - are they Slates doing ? he pauses and turns to address the party One of them flew off as soon as we approached ...

Do Slate have someone practising the blackest of the art for him? Perhaps I'm just paranoid... Sure hope so

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

"Harsh judgement to give someone"

Thel exclaims, but he sees in Embers eyes that it might be deserved. Still, he cannot help to wonder what the man has done - the mention of knifes draws his memory to the scars he saw that night when they saw the band preform. He turns to the buried man once again.

"Maybe you should start talking about why you are buried here, and what wrong you did Ember - otherwise I think her plan will be heeded. Pick your words carefully.."

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

After the last zombie is downed, Thel makes his way towards the caravan. He makes sure that there are no other undead walking around anywhere and throws nervous glances at the sky with regular intervals, in case the vultures decides to come closer. When he is finally satisfied that there are no nasty surprises in store for them, he addresses the buried man.

Keep your acid and complaints for yourself - you are lucky they didn't start chewing on you already!

Thel snarls at the man, slightly more vicious then he wanted, but the vultures soaring above are really getting on his nerves. He throws another quick glance at the skies, and upon seeing no aggressive actions he calms down a little.

We will try and dig you as soon as we are sure nothing starts swooping down on us. How come you are buried there anyway?

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Thel recognizes the vultures foul identity from his folks tales - he have never seen one 'alive' before. Slightly chocked at the sight of living dead, he is lucky to notice the faint cry the wind brought to him along with the stench.

They are all living dead! Harbingers of misfortune, vile scum of the skies. he pauses for a moment Smoke and ashes, there is someone left alive ! We need to hurry before it's too late!

Thel fires his arrow towards the closest walker, then advances cautiously towards the caravan, trying to keep some obstacles between him and the undead.

I hope the dead can still bleed!

Np =)
Init 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Move action to close, drawing bow as part of it and tries to keep somekind of obstracle between Thel and the undead. Swift action to use Ranger's Focus on closet zombie and standard to fire the bow on it!
Attack 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
Dmg 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Already rolled a know(nature) check to identify them. Do you want a new one?

Well it could certainly be worse... Thel gazes at the lumbering figures. Perhaps its bad enough already...

Thel readies his bow, and tries to determine if the shamblers are friend or foe.

Per 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Thel point at the circle of birds hovering far away in the sky.

Vultures - would be my best guess. Then again its hard to see at this distance. he pauses for a moment They seems to be waiting for something - what do you think? We should take care and see what´s up.

Probably a mountain of corpses or something along those lines ...

Know(nature) to identify the birds: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Confirmed

Thel jumps down from his horse as they close in on their target, scouting ahead and tries not to be seen.

Per 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
Stealth 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 27

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

"Ahh yes, but the point is that we will not go after 50, only one. My guess is that a band of brigands wont have the most structured defence or guard schedule - and I'm not sure Slate dares to sleep in their midst - we have already seen how 'loyal' his minions are.

Thel looks around on his companions and all the gunpowder they are packing.

"The question is, can we be quiet enough to make this work ? My bow is silent, and I trust Grym could slit a throat or two...

Since not every one of us is stealthy, I personally think it would be more fun for us all if we didn't try to sneak anywhere... My vote goes for Mordes town-trap idea - but it still got too many loose ends for my liking.

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

"I agree with Ember. I have no love for most of the inhabitants of the Noose, but we can't let this escalate into a war. Lets just hope that without a strong leader this mob disintegrates or starts infighting instead of going for revenge..." he sighs "if that happens we ride as fast as we can and pray."

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

This is interesting

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

He'll survived - think that he will be a little dizzy thou

he replies to Embers concerns. Everything went better then expected - bet I'll die from lead poisoning from their bullets ... sight Thel turns his attention back to Tal, who seems to have regained his conciousness. Savouring Tals praise he helps him regain his feet and supports him as he walks towards the (hopefully) dead dwarf.

I can't really use your life for anything Tal - but a drink would be nice, that horse salesman skinned me down to the bone. And my vote is that you can keep the hammer, you earned it the hard way.

He laughs quietly, but makes sure to keep Tal on his feet all the time. When Ember is done with his round he leaves Tal in her capable hands and takes a quick survey of the scene.

Did anyone except smelly here make it?

he points at the troglodyte as he looks thru his pack for his rope. He then walks over to him and asks him to calmly put his hands behind his back and ties them together (escape DC: 27, burst DC: 24).

Now, try not to escape and the worst thing that will happen is probably prison. Thel leans closer despite the smell If you try to run we will track you down and - I'm sure - we only need your head to collect the bounty...

He turns away from the disgusting creature and tries not to gag.

I think it would be best to turn back - some are in pretty rough shape, and extra gold is not unwelcome....

Then he walks over to the woman from the saloon, inspecting the strange chainweapon she was trying to use on him.

Edit:
Sound like a plan Sanzu - I trust you will be able to find us afterwards ? Maybe we should leave somekind of mark or something.

Edit2:

wand:

1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Thel will use his wand once again, hopeing to bring Tal back. Not this time, death! Grinning at Tal, Thel greets him Welcome back! Looks like you wont be seeing your ancestors after all.

Addressing the lizard: Just stand there, we deal with you later - there will be no 'shooting' That don't exclude other means of death such as... stabbing poking slashing bludgeoning poisoning ... the list goes on Thel smiles again But then, I begin to suspect that he isn't the mastermind behind this plot.

Would someone check to see if anyone else of this scum lives?

hp 28/33
charges 48/50
heal: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

I would also like to apologize, since my shouting might be the source of this misunderstanding. Just wanted to prevent us from shooting everybody without getting them a chance to explain themselves. I realize now that "shot em if they get closer" would have had an more desirable effect =)

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Seeing as most of the foes are taken care of, Thel moves over to Talured to see if he can stop the bleeding. Ahh damnation! This looks bad ...

Move action to reach Tal and drawing my wand of cure light as part of the move. Standard action to activate the wand on Tal. (I'm now holding my bow in my right hand, wand in left). If I can't reach Tal on a single move, I will proceed towards him without drawing my wand and instead fireing on targets of opportunity.

Cure 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Attack 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Dmg 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Cool! Was directing most of the tip to those in combat with the scary toothless dwarf (its unnecessary to catch another swing of that earthbreaker!) :)

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Just a friendly tip, might wanna step away from the dwarf before you try and shoot him : ) (I hope its okay with hints ..)

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Thel will try to get a clean shot on the dwarf again, otherwise he will fire upon mudsnake (aka if Thorin still is in close combat (aka cover) I will fire upon mudsnake). Thel will use his move action to try and retain the cover of the cart and get a clean shot, but will prioritize the cover.

Attack 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25 -2 if I fire on Mudsnake instead.

Damage 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 -2 if I fire on Mudsnake.

Still grinning like a devil, Thelnyss takes his next shot in a new attempt to draw blood. Tough bugger - challenging prey is the best afterall... Crows-blood!

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

The tension and promise of bloodshed has already quickened Thels heart. The dwarfs toothless smile torments him, it beacomes a bulls eye in his mind - its ugly imperfection almost physically calling his arrow. When he hears Talureds gun fire, he swiftly lets loose his own deadly weapon with a shrill laught. Ahhhahhhhhyeahahaha! his eyes alight with the fire of the hunt Run little prey, RUN!

I think we all have been kind of itching for a chance to kick some scumbag ass, so no worries here. Lets just hope its their graves and not ours

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Fortitude 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

What manner of beast is that? Fascinating ...

Thel decides to pick the dwarf as his target, should it come to bloodshed.

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Don't shoot 'till they do! Thel yells out as he slips down to take cower behind the cart, pulling out his bow in the process. They didn't shoot at us, but ... It looks like a robbery.

Initiative 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

Move action to move behind the cart, draw a weapon (longbow) as part of it.

Delay until they shoot, then return fire /w Ranger's Focus up. If they don't Thel will attempt to call them out.

Bow 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
Damage 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Remember that everybody (of us) gets +2 Initiative :P

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

I could also help paying for the cart, since I have no horse of my own ... he shrugs Usually I have more use for endurance over speed, but it would be unwise of me to slow you down or the other way around...

Perception1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31

Survival1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

+2 on Sur and Per rolls in the desert, for ALL the party if they stay close (hunters bond). I'm in the middle of a 24 hour business race, so my postings might be sporadic and I reserve myself from stupid mistakes I will make due to the lack of sleep : ) Just assume Thel pays his fair share of whatever we buy (I have about 60gp)and that he torments people with anecdotal stories (especially Ember if she is trapped on the cart with him).

Edit: the bonus was not included in my roll, but I don't think it mattered that much. I also have +2 on tracking :P

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

My mystical powers tells me ... he makes a short dramatic pause that it probably be best to ask the exorcist. He gestures towards Sanzu that is chatting with a couple of other elves.

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Smelt like horse excrement also. he sneers Ofcourse, I can't really tell if it was her or the alley...

When they get back to the saloon, they meet up with all of the group that is outside and quickly explains what happened. So... what do you think? he peers over their shoulders into the bar Don't think there is much to be gained in there any more.

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Assuming the survival and perception DC was both 25, and that I didn't find anything

Thel follows the lady for a while, until she disappears. He didn't really see where she went, but it appears that Morde got an idea. Thel follows him back to the saloon and when they get back he'll has in a hushed and exited voice Well? What do you think?

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

I hope it works out, whatever that is bothering you Noa!

@Pixel: Are we and group 2 playing in alternate universes or do we have a chance of meeting them ?

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Thel nods and quickly checks which way she went.

Survival 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20

The hunt is on... : )

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Thel quickly downs his mug of ale and slips past Grym and Ember whispering We might have something ... if you hear gunshots or something from the outside, be prepared ..
Then he tries to make his way outside and meet up with Morde as discreetly as possible, feeling his heart quickening at the thought of what Morde might have found.

Stealth: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Thel grins at Grym Always he replies, gesturing to the short blade strapped to his left leg. As for the mood, it seems that the spirits are high. He leans closer and lower his voice alittle I think you should take heed to Embers suggestion. It seems suspicious that you the finest catch in town and just sit here ... he trails of and blink to them both and laughs. Then he turns abruptly and walks towards the bar, intent on fetching something more to drink. On the way he passes by Morde, asking if he would care to join him for an ale?

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Dat trailer ! Sadly I don't think AMC broadcasts over here. But there are other places : )

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Thel's not accustomed to crowds, and finds the spectacle mostly confusing. However, he never the less enjoys himself, taking a few dances with a pretty lass. Still got it - or maybe they were to drunk to notice my horrible dance skills He then makes his way thru the crowd towards the table, keeping an eye out for anything interesting (slate, his men, free food ... ).

Perception 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14

How's the party treating you, friends? he says when he arrives

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Realization hits Thel with the subtlety of a warhammer oh... Certainly - would be a shame to miss such a thing. Ahh live music... was a while since last time..When do the party start?

He turns to the disgruntled barkeep Maybe you should come along? he laughs Life is too short to be bitter, trust me

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Thel greets Morde with a nod, throwing a quick question his way So, I see you're not dead yet ?. He laughs dryly Lets hope it stays that way. Lets go and see what the good gnome is muttering about, shall we ?

Thel will chat with the bartender and Morde about most things between heaven and earth, and possibly slipping in a quick nostalgic story in there until the rest of the posse arrive. He'll also try to learn about this "half-woman". So then - tell me, how could one be half a woman ? What is the other half then ? Probably some easterling sorcery - spirits know what they have been dragging here..

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Okay - noted it on my sheet

After the brief wildness and apothecary visit, it's getting late and Thel decides to go to the Clock and Gear and see if anyone else have showed up yet.

Male Desert Elf Ranger (Guide) IV

Wise words Morde. Thel replies I think I got most of the supplies I need, but there are some things I would like to look for. See you back at the Clock
Thel wanders of towards the edge of town. There are some things that would be useful if we need to catch them alive (one could hope)... maybe the apothecary has some...

shopping/Cube:

I was thinking of acquiring some knock out poison, for capturing. Also for the flawor of shooting cowboys with poisoned arrows... ^^ Was thinking of either the blue whinis or (drow) knock out poisons (can be found on d20pfsrd under afflictions\poison). They are about ~100 gp a dose and I was thinking about paying the full amount and fluffing it as gathering some herbs in the wildness and preparing them with expensive reagents from the apothecary. Are you okay with this ?

Hello All,

You can use the icons in the campaign info at the top
Examples:
◆ Stride
◆ Strike against blue circle
◆ Raise Shield

◆ Stride
◆◆ Hydraulic Push against red square

3) If you have any reactions or botting instructions please include them in your actions. For example, if you have your shield raised, please indicate that you'll use your reaction to block the first strike against you or something similar. Or if you think you'll knock out the mob you are attacking, with the first strike, please give a contingency plan such as I'll stride to the blue circle skeleton and strike again. You can put them in spoiler tags to make it easier to organize if you'd like.

4) If I'll be gone for more than a day, I will let you all know and out of respect for your fellow players I will ask you to do the same. It will also alert me to use your botting instructions (if any) to keep things moving if necessary.

5) If you have any questions or suggestions, please bring them up in the discussion tab or PM me.
