ExoGuardian boon allows me to spend 2 Fame to buy an item at +2 level, so I can get ysoki armor for +7/+7 and 2 upgrades (add jumpjets for 1000)
Personal Upgrades - Synaptic Accelerators +2 ability (Dex), and at level 5 can up abilities and AC. So yay.
Or use Ashes of Discovery to get some good armor on loan.
