Theo chats with those who wish to. The Olympian puts on his best PR, answering questions to the best of his ability.

Once the judging is complete, the godling does walk back to TAROT HQ to rest for the next day, likely working out before bed.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (12) + 20 = 32
The Olympian, in full armor and weapons, while in line, performs a handstand, then proceeds to do as many handstand pushups as he can.

"Ma..What!" Theo wakes with a start. Once the situation is explained, he answers. "Thank you."

The Olympian gets up, stretches, exercises, showers and gives his armor and The Angel Sword a quick polish. After making sure we was very presentable, Theo walks down to the shore to official sign up for the tournament.

Theo says his goodbyes to The Coin agent, then returns to TAROT HQ to rest after his adventure.
The godling sleeps through the night with the belt on, so the magic will take affect faster.

So do you not have a Personal Upgrade to add to your strength? I don't know how else you had 21 to Strength before. That's usually the way it works in Starfinder--enhancements to stats come from those instead of stats. We're just having a weird combo of old and new here. :D Honestly even if you have a personal upgrade it probably fits the genre for the belt of strength to work with it.

If Theo did get a strength enhancement bonus, it happened so far in the past, his player can't remember.

I apologize. I didn't see the notification. No. The Olympian has no other Strength enhancing items or potions. The belt of giant strength +4 is the only one. Feel free to add more!

Once outside, Theo puts on the magical belt.
"Hey. Thanks a lot. For your help in there", The Olympian chagrins at the Coin Agent. "Please pass on my thanks to The Coin King."

Slightly dazed, The Olympian is rudely pushed out of the Wand's store by the Coin agent, once he paid the fee, before the godling can embarrass himself further.

The Olympian hold his hands out before him. "Okay. 100 gold coins..OR.. I take you upstairs and give you a mind melting orgasm?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (11) + 17 = 28

"What have we here then," she asks after reading the letter. She points at the belt.

"The King of Coin thought you would know the attributes and abilities of this belt, miss. It may be either Dwarven or Giant in origin."

Theo thinks about it for a few moments. "Eh, I'll take it to the Wands. Haven't really met those guys yet."

"Why not take a position of greater authority? My Knight is old and has long spoken of stepping through one of those gates to a place he loves more than here. He met his wife there and would return with her, leaving Tarokh, the city of his birth, behind forever, dying quietly in Elven lands. Why not replace him? Become the Knight of Coins. You've earned it today. Why risk death in the tournament?"

"I can't go into it, Oberon", Theo smiles to himself as he rests his head on The King of Coin's shoulder. "It's a private matter. But The tournament is a way to secure a future for himself and my children."

Theo looks into his clutched hand, still holding the runed belt. "It had better. My back itches from the acid spray something fierce", Theo grumbles. "Let's get outta here!"

Athletics: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (8) + 18 = 26
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (8) + 18 = 26 Weird.

Theo runs and leaps on the back of the waiting horse. "Find what you were looking for, Oberon?" Diplomacy: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (19) + 17 = 36

It's Theo's player's Birthday today! WOO!

Theo's free hand grabs the runed belt as he lands on the pile of coin.

"Master Nightsky. It was a pleasure."
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (4) + 18 = 22

The godling tumbles and flips through the small side entrance.

Reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Charisma: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19

The dragon spends its turn realizing Oberon has fled and turning back angrily to face Theo.

The godling runs straight at the black dragon. But instead of attacking, The Olympian will attempt to jump and flip over the dragon and run to the side entrance Oberon ran through. Acrobatics: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33

"Okay! That's it." Quickly, the godling sheaths The Angel Sword and his Shield away.
Using both hands, The Olympian tries a herculean of grabbing the black dragon's tale and pulling it back.

Grapple: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
Strength check + Physical Avatar (Ex): 1d20 + 5 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 5 + 3 = 27 FU<K YES!!!

"Sh|t!" Theo leaps through the small entrance in pursuit of his draconic quarry. Acrobatics: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (20) + 18 = 38

rReflex DC 20: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12

As the line of acid hits The Olympian, his Scion Talent Retribution takes effect.

Angel Sword: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
Dmg.: 1d6 + 1d6 + 6 + 7 ⇒ (6) + (3) + 6 + 7 = 22

Once that attack takes place, Theo designates the black dragon as his Rival as a free action.

"Nightsky, huh?" Theo winced from the pain. "You have all the gold in your hoard, because mortals gave it to you with no strings attached?"
The godling goaded the black dragon. "Everyone who gave you your gold always lived after meeting you? Is that what I'm hearing?"

Dmg.: 1d6 + 1d6 + 6 + 7 ⇒ (5) + (6) + 6 + 7 = 24

"So? What do they call you, Blackie?" The godling asks the black dragon as he attacks again.

Things have slowed down. I'm happy to keep playing, but 12,500 posts is quite a long story and no shame if anyone is done playing.

The mistake was mine. I didn't realize you posted a response to Theo's last attack until two weeks later.

Maybe if we gained a level?

"Oh no, you don't!" The Olympian chides the black dragon's effort to cast a spell.

Well, if the Dragon is gonna leave his flank exposed. I'm taking advantage! The Olympian thinks.

The godling attacks the black dragon again.

Is the dragon a particular color?

"HEY! PUFF! You got other problems!" The godling slashes at the large monster.

Angel Sword: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
Dmg.: 1d6 + 1d6 + 6 + 7 ⇒ (2) + (2) + 6 + 7 = 17

The Olympian runs with all his might to chase down the dragon.
Athletics: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (13) + 18 = 31

Theo creates obnoxious music to lure the dragon out of his lair, but the dragon appears to have already been out hunting.

When the dragon passes overhead, he drops a dead mountain goat 5 feet from Theo and heads out of sight towards the path the King took. The King may be taken by surprise.

"Sh|t." The Olympian mutters to himself, as he runs after the dragon, banging The Angel Sword against his shield.

"One entrance is as good as another. He lairs in the ruins of what once might have been a castle for the people that lived here, but is now but a few connected underground chambers built into the side of the mountain," says Oberon. "I'll take the center path. You draw the dragon away from his horde and I'll find you your sword."

"Be prudent," the King adds with genuine concern and perhaps a little guilt.

Hmm. Dragons are supposed to have supernatural senses, right? Theo thought to himself. Maybe something not too obnoxious. I bet it's been a while since the dragon heard some music.

The Olympian finds a rock outcropping, out in the open and stands waiting. The godling casts ghost sounds, playing a medley of new age classics.

How does Theo want to handle the approach? The bridge is wide enough to go side by side, but one of you could also lead. There are three paths to choose from, as described above, and all lead to different entrances to the dragon's lair.

Theseus rides side-by-side with Oberon over the bridge. Once over, the godling puts his finger to is mouth and motions that he will take left branch.

"We'll see", Theo shrugged, putting his Coin away, knowing his 'luck'.

Theo carefully pulls it out of his pocket as they ride. "An artifact? What the Tartarus does it do?"

"Call me Oberon," says the King of Coins. "It's best not to use real names where we are going."

Theo laughs out loud. "Then you can call me Theseus!"

"We ride through the Gate of No Return there and up the old dwarf trail to the dragon's lair. We'll need these horses if we're spotted," proposes the King.

Choose a horse and ride, Theo? Any info you ask the King for along the way?

The Olympian choose a grey horse and rides along with The King of Coin.

"Don't worry," says the King. "It's just a name. About half the people who go through it return. It should be called 'The Gate of 50-50 Chances' but that's less, you know, cool."

Theo chuckles sightly. "I see why Unity likes you." The godling said, following the servant to the stables.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 [eyeroll]

"Hmm. We godlings often have a talent for being where we shouldn't. I think I can keep a dragon off your back." Theo smiles, toasting his host.

After a time he is allowed in by a Page of Coins to see the King of Coins. This dark-haired man with a salt and pepper beard smiles widely when Theo is allowed in. "A friend of Unity's is a friend of mine! Welcome. I've been hoping to meet you. So, tell me, what can I do for you?"

"Thank you for meeting me, Your Majesty." Theo bows with respect. Diplomacy: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (17) + 17 = 34

She does so. It is castle built into one of the city walls, with one dark tower, larger than the others, looking over the Bay of Tarokh. It's an hour walk across the city to get there or a 20-minute carriage ride on the high road that connects most of the important places directly with fewer commoners in the way. Ride or walk? If walk how hard do you avoid trouble and make a Survival check.

Theo takes the carriage ride. It's another way for the godling to see the massive city, with little chance of getting lost.

"I don't know," says L.C., "But the King of Coins asked me about it at some soirée last week. He was very informed and very interested. He said he is always home, if you want to talk to him."

Theo sighed. "Fine. Can you at least direct me to the King of Coin's dwelling?"

L.C. looks at Theo across her desk, fingers folded together, very slight smirk. "So, you've entered the sword-fighting contest that I told you not to enter and now are looking for money for a sword? You do know that to place as a 7 or higher means fights to the death. Magical healing isn't guaranteed. You could die and stay dead!"

"Yes. Yes. Yes." The Olympian agreed sarcastically. "So, this tournament obviously means a great deal to me! In ways I can't talk about yet."

She started off wanting to give Theo a hard time but now she's legit worried.

Something occurs to her. "I'm still an outsider. If you want some local knowledge, why don't you talk to Unity's friend, the King of Coins. He seems helpful. He was asking about you the other day. You still have a Coin, don't you?"

"Oh really? I bet he wants to place a bet on me to win the tournament", The Olympian surmises. "Yeah, I got the Coin..but how do I use it?"

Theo soon learns that during the days before the tournament pretty much everyone selling swords, selling armour, selling magic sword oil, selling services as a page, etc, will be down near the 'Old Arena near the Wall of Five Gates'. Many of the schools are around there.

After another intense workout, Theo showers off in TAROT Headquarters then travels to the Old Arena to look around.

Zellgato can practically smell the whiff of fear. Dr. Wonderful may, according to his bio, have lightning reflexes and superior strength, but he was still scared of the Unity for half a second, until he recognized him.

"Phade asked me if I wanted to be part of something bigger," Mr. Wonderful says. He pauses, turns his head, achieves the perfect noble pose, before adding, "How could I refuse?"

Haha! I can't wait to see what happens when Dr. Wonderful meets The Olympian!

Again, I reiterate, The Angel Sword hasn't let Theo down yet. It is a magic sword. Should the TAROT universal give him a better one (hint y hint), I'm sure The Olympian would take it. Maybe the godling could get an impromptu gift from Hephaestus?

Besides, Gay Deciever, up until this point, has not been accurate. Therefore, Theo chose to stay in Tarokh to train for the tournament.

So Theo spends his days training at TAROT HQ in Tarohk, but sneaking into The Queen of Sword's palace at night, to leave before morning.

Theo couldn't hide his smile. "All the more reason to give it my all." Can I still sneak in for ..nightplay?"

Theo asks The Queen of Swords for her help in sparing for the upcoming tournament. If allowed, the godling takes this opportunity to spend time with his young son.
