I was under the impression that monks were supposed to deal with magic welding opponents due to having all good base saves. Also, when confronted with a fighter, ranger, (anti)paladin, etc... they could utilize weapons to trip or disarm their enemy. Furthermore, doesn't stunning fist create a more level playing field? Also, could brace knuckles solve the weapon problem? If you want to use special monk abilities such as stunning fist one could just kick the opponent instead of using the knuckles. Personally, I think monks are pretty cool as is, but I do think these new feats are cool as well. I played with a DM who didn't like monks. He thought they were too powerful. |
