Thanoi shakes the sudden fright of the skeletons off and says, "Well that was a fine howdy do, are all you youngin's ok?" Looking toward the town Thanoi says,"If that was the way he invited all his guests to his Masters homecoming party, then I suggest we head down to town and see if we can't help the other people out."
I'm kinda handy with computers and Databases, I can be the skills monkey ... maybe hack the dairy database and get his picture put on milk cartons. So far I really like this group and I'm willing to continue playing .. and I like the DM for giving me a chance to play so I'm also willing to continue waiting on him, and it is right at the holidays and a lot of the US has been being hit pretty hard with bad weather the last week or so ...
Thoughts of the dead flowing through his mind, Thanoi is so frozen by the sight of the Mummy, that he can't even reply back to Dherisan's comment about the lack of skin on the approaching foes.

Finally getting untangled, Thanoi walks up to the defensive line to take his place beside Kaiden. Having a sudden thought he turns to Xane, "Hey lass, you don't happen to have any bellows in that cart of yours do you? If you do we could suck the ghost up into it." "HAHA, wouldn't that be a great party trick? Show up with your bellows and randomly squirt the ghost out at people! That would be great fun, but you would have to remember to suck him back up again before someone got hurt." Suddenly turning somber and serious at the mention of people getting hurt Thanoi says, "I'll do what I can to keep the bones away from you, but you finger wiggling types are going to have to take care of the ghost cause I can't hit something that's not really there."
I'm very new at all this so I'm not real sure about some things. To strike a ghost or wraith you need a magic weapon correct? kinda like it says here ... As long as he has at least 1 point in his ki pool, a monk can make a ki strike. At 4th level, ki strike allows his unarmed attacks to be treated as magic weapons for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction.

Seeing Asara's nervousness as he makes his way out of the cave, Thanoi says, "Don't worry Lass, things will be fine. A friend of mine once said 'When you are fighting against someone much bigger than you, pick up a rock and hit them in the face with it, if they don't fall down, apologize and run like crazy', so see, everything will work out just fine."
Thanoi starts to walk out of the cave to follow Xane but gets tangled in the barricades and manages to trip over his spear, tumbling into the dirt. "Dumb spear, always jumping in between peoples legs when they are going out to bang on some non-breakfast bringing, walking wind chimes that are too stupid to know they ain't got no skin." Talking to the spear, "One of these days I'm gonna give you to a family of termites if you keep acting this way, now behave yourself and don't poke no one." Thanoi picks himself up and hands his spear to the commoners in the cave to use as a very last line of defense and, mumbling to himself, starts back out of the cave toward Xanes position.
Thanoi chuckles, "In other word missy, we're trying to stuff 10 pounds of dung into a one pound sack ... while ol' bony butt jumps on the bag we're holding." Thanoi's eyes light up, "YOU didn't happen to bring me any breakfast did you?"

Thanoi glances up at the newcomer's arrival, "Great, another youngin to take care of." Muttering to himself while helping Xane, Thanoi can be overheard to say, "At least she is wearing skin ... last person to wander up didn't even bother to put on his skin before he came over to say hey."

ulgulanoth, when you get a free moment can you look over my profile and see if the numbers and what-nots are all correct please? Kaiden was trying to help me finish the profile earlier and I wanted to let you know I was fiddling with it trying to get everything correct.
Thanoi glances over at Jaed, "Well, the short version is these youngsters woke me up and then rudely fell asleep themselves. Dehrisan and myself were having a nice conversation about the benefits of sleeping in stables when that skeleton Lavest walks up and starts talking about his lord returning. Everyone here owes me a gold because he didn't bring breakfast and now we have determined that they aim to do bad things to the town and we are looking for Kaidens cave and discussing what to do and where to go next."
Hey there and Welcome! This goes for everyone playing ... I'm very new to this (first game) and I've never been in a pbp before either so please forgive any mistakes I may make and doubly please feel free to point out things I forget to do and make suggestions on what I could do better.
"Why not join the party? Find the cave, see that the child and our commoners are hidden away with a few supplies and walk into town like we were invited?" Thanoi shrugs and scratches his bald head. "Seems to me that we WERE invited and we would be remiss in our duty to Lord Bony if we didn't attend. Dherisan, that critter of yours will tell you, the best place to hide is in plain sight. We already know what they have planned for us so it will be much easier to turn their surprise against them if we are somewhere they don't expect us to be, namely down there with everyone else." "Besides, that sack of bones still owes me breakfast."
Thanoi, thinking hard, starts waving his hand around, Wait a second. If Kaiden blows his horn I don't think they will be sending anyone after us that they were not already sending. He toots enough and all the towns people and visitors will head out into the streets to see what all the commotion is. Yea, Sir 'can't find my skin' will be pissed but he will more than have his bony hands full dealing with all the riled up towns folk. Besides, at least then the folks in town will have a fighting chance instead of just being murdered in their sleep.

"We've got an hour before they send troops to kill us, I suggest we be somewhere else, or at least fully dressed." Thanoi says with a sidelong glance at Kaiden. "On the other hand, Lavest seems to have some authority so we could jump him now before he has a chance to wander off. Although maybe if he wanders off he'll find his missing skin, hehe"
Would the cleric Light spell show more than is currently illuminated by the camp fire and fairy lights?
Thanoi takes a single step foward lifting his spear into a defensive placement. "NO! No one here is going anywhere with you until you explain what you meant and where you plan on taking these younglings, I'll not have more children stolen and slaughtered!"
"I can't speak for the rest of these youngsters, but as for myself, I'm just passing through. As a matter of fact, I didn't realize what town I was in until I heard them speaking of it eariler this evening ... But I wasn't lost." Thanoi chuckles to himself as he follows up the statement about being lost ... "I've found it's hard to be lost when you don't know where you are going in the first place." "I've answered your question, now if you would be so kind as to answer mine. What exactly do you mean by 'Dealt With'?"
Realizing that Lavest is hiding something, if not out-right lying to them all, Thanoi asks, "What do you mean 'Dealt With'? If we are all to be 'Dealt With', then why are you standing here wasting time conversing with us?" As Thanoi talks, he begins to move back toward Ruoren and Kaiden.
Thanoi looks the skeletal figure over and mutters "Told you he wouldn't be bringing breakfast." Speaking to Lavest he says, Pardon me for the interruption, I'm Thanoi. You said that you rose to serve your Lord again? Might I enquire as to what your function is? Or would it be 'was' since you seem to have shuffled off your skin ... The last part kind of fades off as Thanoi begins to ponder the conundrum. "Ah Ha, I have it, hehehehe. If it's not rude of me to ask, What will you be doing for your Lord once he returns?"
Thanoi stands and walks to the edge of the firelight peering towards the disturbance, without looking back he says to Dherisan and Kayle, Boys, would you be kind enough to wake everyone up? Hearing Xane start awake he says, Missy, get ready to smother that fire, something seems to be heading our way and I'll bet a gold that it ain't bringing us breakfast.
Thank you Xane and ulgulanoth, I'll work on that when I get home although I'll most likely have some questions about how to come up with those numbers. Also, to roll for the perception check, I understand how to roll, just not sure what to roll for it, I have 4 ranks in perception so would I roll 1d20 +4?
Can someone look over my profile and tell me what all I still need to put up please? This is my first pathfinder game so I'm not sure what I'm missing, or even how to do something as simple as roll perception.
"Barns and stables aren't so bad, if you can learn to watch your step, hehe. I just like to wander and if there is a soft bit of hay to lay on I'm content. Honestly I haven't tried any of the Inns. That big shindig you were talking about brought in all sorts of rude people, always stepping on your toes and shouting about this, that and some other." Thanoi's speech kinda meanders off into mumblings about youngsters having no respect these days ... Seeming to notice the child for the first time, Thanoi's face brightens. He pulls a blanket from his pack and walks over to cover the sleeping child with it.
"Silly children, first they wake you up, then they fall asleep themselves." That said, Thanoi seat himself by the fire and peers at Ember "Is that a fox? What'd he do? Try to steal one of your chickens, so you made him your pet as a way to teach him some manners? Tehehe." Looking over to Kayle "Don't you worry none son, it's hard to stand on decorum when we are all sitting in the mud. Manners ... Manners ... well bless me, I seem to have forgotten mine. My name is Thanoi and it's nice to meet you both."
Hey, hey, what's with all the noise you younglings are makin out here? Can't a poor guy wander into a stable to sleep on some hay without all the yapping and barking? Well since I'm awake now I might as well warm up a bit next to your fire, and tell your puppies not to bite me missy Walking out of the shadows near the stable door, Thanoi, using his spear as a walking staff, pulls his cloak tight around him and moves toward the fire without waiting to be invited.
so 8 + 4d8, plus the 5 for my con bonus, plus 5 for favored class?
A monk says d8 so to get the hit points for a 5th level I would roll 5d8?
What I have so far is on this profile, I'm not sure how to come up with the hit points or if anything I've put down thus far is even remotely correct, sorry it has taken me so long to get even this much up and any help or tips offered would be greatly welcome.
I'm working on getting everything finished as well.
Will a semi crazy old half-elf monk be acceptable? Bout to leave to go watch my oldest sing in the choir but I'll put him up once I get back if he is acceptable. |
