I want to stay with the fire theme, but I could have a lot of fun making a cleric with the fire domain. If it doesn't seem too goofy/cheap to anyone, maybe even another rejected snowcaster elf, perhaps cast out for worshiping Sarenrae?
I don't mind a little fudging, but I would prefer if it's not obvious. For example, I saw what you did with having the enemy turn away from Kandar. That was OK. I'm also OK with things like enemies 'forgetting' to use a skill or power, or a slight fudging of the dice. For example, if an attack fails to hit by 1 or 2 so it's not obvious, saying that it actually hit. I think the bailing out would probably feel cheap and ruin the fun for me, but I'm not sure. This is my first near-TPK on either side of the GM screen, so I'm just guessing here.
In conclusion, since the above meanders a bit, I'd rather they duke it out, perhaps with a little fudging if it's not obvious.
Edit: This is with the assumption that the same players would roll up new characters and keep going with the adventure.
Oh, OK, I did not realize that the damage was already included in your stat bar. Then yes, we as a party still have a decent chance.
So at this point, the whole party is down, two stable. There's one enemy left, at least partly damaged, and one NPC on our side. Unless he can kill the last enemy his next turn, I think this sounds like a TPK.
Thanata falls over from the thing's attack.
stabilize: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (19) - 3 = 16
Was the damage to Thanata all normal damage? I'm just checking that her resistances don't apply. If so, she is also unconscious.
Option 1.
I'm sorry, I thought that with the attack of opportunity thing dealt with, the question was resolved.
If you want to house rule that fire jet does work on objects, I will accept this, but you should know that this will actually increase Thanata's power, because she can then use fire supremacy to draw the fire around herself if she gets close to it. I'm still feeling out this character's abilities, but I'm afraid they may be overpowered in this AP.
fire jet is SU, not a spell, so I don't think it is supposed to provoke an AoO. And yes, the description specifically says that creatures might catch on fire, but nothing about objects catching on fire.
Here is a link to a description of the supernatural ability.
spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
A line of flame shoots out from Thanata's hand, searing the undead.
Thanata uses fire jet. It's a 20 ft line of fire, so I assume that I can hit all three with it. If not, Thanata concentrates on hitting the further two to protect Soliana.
damage 1: 1d6 ⇒ 5
damage 2: 1d6 ⇒ 2
damage 3: 1d6 ⇒ 5
[ooc]Reflex save DC 14 for half damage; opponents who fail save catch on fire.
Thanata comes and stands a few feet back from the carriage. She is going to let one of the non-squishies open the door, but is ready for whatever they find.
Thanata looks sad, but unsurprised. She is familiar with the harshness of the North. She looks more closely at the bodies.
perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Thanata suggests that they can ask the boy to stay next to her to help her fight off attacks. It will keep him out of the worst of melee while letting him feel both helpful and chivalrous.
Thanata nods at Soliana and turns to leave the room.
Oops, it sounds like you care more about the details of what's available than most GMs I have played with. Is is a problem that with starting wealth I crafted two scrolls of spells I know (first level, of course)?
Thanata is willing to chip in to make sure someone else can damage enemies. It would not end well if the squishy is the only one who can do damage...
"Flame won't be a problem. I hope my companions are also prepared."
Thanata rolls her eyes at Kandar's brusqness. She gently speaks to the wounded man. "We've been told that someone may need a rescue. Can you please tell us what happened? I'm Thanata, and this is Kandar, Soliana, and Ahti."
Thanata slows down to let Soliana catch up.
Thanata nods at the plan, and goes to find the survivor.
Thanata looks at the young man. In a soft voice meant to calm him, she says, "Calm down for a second and gather your thoughts. Then try again, OK? Who is this Lady Thea, why would bandits take her, and what else should we know?"
Thanata follows Kandar. Since they came north, she has been almost overwhelmed by the feelings of coming so close to home, but being forbidden to go home. However, something feels bad about this whole situation, and Thanata wants to find out what is happening.
I cleaned up a few minor errors on Thanata's character sheet. PCGen does not react well to things like extra feats and skill ranks, and I somehow missed the problem earlier. I added the extra skill rank and also fixed the rapier attack bonus to use weapon finesse.
If Thanata heard Kandar talking about wanting revenge on the winter witches, that would be a good reason for her to travel with him.
Thanata has been wandering for the last hundred year, so could already know any of you.
Thanata's basic stats and background are up now. The stat block is according to the book, so I still need to update it to some of your house rules.
Here's the alias for Redelia's elf wizard. Details are not present yet, but will be soon. I'll post then.
I'm representing the snow-caster elf background by using the alternate racial trait of Elemental Resistance, getting cold resistance 5 in return for giving up Elven Immunities. It seemed both very flavorful and mechanically helpful without being overpowered.
I'm also using the spellbinder wizard archetype for elves from the ARG.
