Again, who cares about the sword, any help on my build possibilites? =/

So anyway... now that we're off topic. Any race/class combos I should try to make Sephiroth with. Also, I'm doing 25 point point-buy system. So I have to take that into account.

"Nothing in there say "may count as short sword for size" it spells out clearly the size is of a bastard sword."

No but it does say counts as a short sword for ease of use.

To each his own I suppose. There will always be different ways of doing things.

Straight from the Core Rule book

"This sword is the size of a bastard sword. However, a sun blade is wielded as if it were a short sword with respect to weight and ease of use. In other words, the weapon appears to all viewers to be a bastard sword, and deals bastard sword damage, but the wielder feels and reacts as if the weapon were a short sword. Any individual able to use either a bastard sword or a short sword with proficiency is proficient in the use of a sun blade. Likewise, Weapon Focus and Weapon Specialization in short sword and bastard sword apply equally, but the benefits of those feats do not stack."

I don't know if you have in fact read the wording on this, but the way it's worded it basically says to treat it as a short sword with bastard sword looks/damage.

*Shrug*

I suppose that's your interpretation of it. Personally I do view it as a short sword that deals bastard sword damage and looks like a bastard sword. It basically says that in the description.

And in my mind a large sized shortsword is like I said, a medium longsword. So to me it makes sense to 1 hand it.

Or two hand it if it's a huge sized sunblade (Making it a medium sized greatsword as far as ease of use.)

So? its still a large bastard sword, not a large short sword. So it counts as a light weapon ya still could not use it one handed.

I think you are missing the point. The sun blade acts as a short sword of it's size category.

A large sized shortsword= medium sized longsword.

I think that's the point that Shuriken is trying to use here.

Basically saying, I could one hand a large sized bastard sword with a sun blade variant.

Well, to be honest, if I made him tiefling and happened to get the oversized arms (I'd flavor it differently) I could wield a large weapon in one hand with no penalty. :)

I'm having a lot of trouble coming up with what I want to do race/class wise more than weapons/armor really.... that's the hard part.

I'm thinking I might try to run him more like when he was in SOLDIER before he went nuts.

I'm not sure. But I'd really like to figure it out so I can run him. :)

I want to make a rip-off of either Cloud or Sephiroth from FF7... what classes would they be? I mean... Cloud obviously a two handed fighter of some sort... but do I give him magical capacity or? And Sephiroth calls down Meteor... hmm... hard to figure out how to make something that fits best in the rules for them. lol

You're running a tiefling Paladin, so 'Redemption' is an applicable concept word. It also would let us test what would happen when someone's curse word was tied to something positive as opposed to the negative things like 'vengeance', 'pollution', 'condemnation', and the sort that have been generally chosen by PCs and NPCs.

Other concept words you could pull are 'justice', 'truth', 'divinity', 'unbreaking', and 'glory'. That's just the first few that pop to mind. If you have more of a direction you want to take this guy, I can come up with some others.

Currently my winged alchemist's concept word is Rebirth. And I've figured out what my blessing is, though it has yet to come to play. Rebirth in this campaign leads to my blessing and my curse, my blessing is that sometimes I just WON'T die. Kinda an auto-res thing randomly, but my curse is my body is turning into metal... and not the good kind of metal like warforged kinda thing but, I'm a statue forever kind of thing.

I do very much like Glory or Redemption. Those are actually quite awesome, and I think I'm probably leaning more towards Redemption since I'm fairly fiendish and what not but trying to find my way in the good side of things.

I've also been messing around with a Fae build that has some very high ability DCs as a backup character in case my judge got killed during his massive planar side-quest. My notes on it are at home, though, so I don't have them at hand. If you're interested, I can probably beam you over my rough outline of the build and its key features later today since my side of the campaign is going slowly and I don't see the judge dying soon.

Edit: Oh, and be careful about when you decide to make new characters. This guy should be fine, but I warn you that I'm fairly sure each generation's curse starts kicking in more brutally than the last generation's and at a faster pace. Just a note there.

I won't take your build idea since after looking through some stuff it seems that my current build idea is working out pretty well for the fact that this guy is more hardcore than my alchemist and he's also 1 level higher at the same CR. lol I'll let you keep your secrets to yourself so that way it comes as a total shock when I'm in awe of how well it works out for you. I was also at one point toying with a sorc/oracle and basically dumping EVERYTHING except my CHA... we'll see how well that works out if I get around to statting it up as another possibility.

Curse note: I will be careful about that, as of yet Joe made a new char and he has yet to even come to a time when his curse has activated. Although I do not know what his word was.

Hey gad, it's actually going well, I'm trying to compete with our super powerful guy. You know of whom I speak. I'm not angry with his ability to be so powerful, I'm angry with the fact that I'm being one upped, you know my personality... LOL. The Alchemist is actually going quite well, but I may be looking for a bit of a change. The Alchemist may retire onto a plot of land that we liberated from bandits. It depends on my mood this coming couple of weeks. I mean, while I find it awesome that I can probably make a good 2k a week just using my alchemy making poisons... I'd like to be able to kill things easier. We'll see. Plus recently, The Alchemist ran into the Troll and we were on opposing sides for an adventure... he yelled and I had to roll a 20 to avoid some fear effect, luckily there was an NPC on my side who helped me with that.

Thalin- You do know that Tiefling is not adding to my CR right? And also, the DM doesn't want Mystic Theurge because it's basically combining two classes already... meaning... two classes+two classes= Silly stuff. And yes, I realize that our campaign is already silly stuff. It's all good though. =)

Navarion- I went with Tounges as my curse and Battle as my mystery.

Like Gad said (since he plays with our group he knows. Usually the GM. ANd quite a good one at that I will say.) we're fairly high on the power curve as is but Player B tends to make really awesome characters that can blow me away in almost every circumstance. Like I said earlier, I'm not angry with him making such powerful characters I just wish I could do so as well so when I wanted to make something hardcore power-wise and not role-playing wise I don't get one upped by him so easily, even if he is just doing his usual thing.

Note: Gad, we figued out that the GM missed a small detail about his were-croc, he's a dragon(due to half dragon), were-creatures have to be humanoid. I've also learned a few different things about how Regeneration has been changed and a few of his errors in making this character. All in the process of creating this pally/oracle, so it's not like I'm trying to spite him, I'm just learning the rules and what not. I hope HE sees it that way, and not like I'm trying to screw him over on purpose. Also, Gad, I need an idea for a "concept" you know... the whole campaign curse/blessing thing being based of the concept or word... *shrug* for this guy it totally eludes me what I should do.

So, I'm trying to figure out the best build I can get just using pathfinder stuff.

Also my GM is allowing only 2 CR to be bought off.

So far I've put together a Demon-Spawn Tiefling who is (silly I know but DM called it was acceptable.) Half-Fiend, Half-Dragon (Brass), Giant Young. (So the numbers work out that Half-Fiend is +2, Half-Dragon is +2, Giant +1, Young -1. (2+2+1-1-2=2) 2+levels =CR right?

10 levels in Pally/Oracle

Stats are as follows
STR:34
DEX:14
CON:26
INT:18
WIS:10
CHA: 34
(Back ground feat was Fiendish Heritage and the DM altered that a little. Instead of roll 3 times get the best, he said you can cherry pick one, or roll for 2. I got +2 CHA, and Pos/Neg Healing. That will account for the extra CHA)

I'm trying to compete with the super powergamer in my group who always finds a way to make me angry. He won't explain to me how he becomes so powerful so I'm somewhat in the dark. If I could see how someone else would build powerful stuff I might get a better idea of how to do so myself. I can make characters that are usually a little more powerful than the average, but not usually by a whole lot. I want to compete,so either maxing this char idea out or starting from scratch and making a super hardcore dude would be acceptable.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
