Male Halfling

If it's alright with everyone here I'm going to take over the campaign to list as inactive.

Male Halfling

I don't know, by the sounds of it in PMs Jacob was still some form of good despite being undead. But yes, I suspected this might happen where the entire point was to cause inter-party strife and constant backstabbing. Interesting in theory, but would only be amusing for one party.

Male Halfling

I was the other one. I was going to try to make the orchard flourish and poisonous so those that ate the fruit (for free) would slowly die.

Male Halfling

We can wait, but these things usually die if the GM isn't pushing it hard from the get-go. My personal cut-off is two weeks without activity, but I'll observe every now and then.

Male Halfling

Things aren't going quickly on our end either, waiting for the shopkeep to respond to questions before rushing around looking.

Male Halfling

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

Petrello's Haberdashery:
Tedal hums a bit to himself, waiting for the answers that have piqued his curiosity so.

Male Halfling

Petrello's Haberdashery:
Tedal immediately drops what he's doing as it upsets Petrello further. Looking at both Jacob and Frosty Tedal says, "A public project might be a good way to gain the people's trust, though that'll have to wait until after we have found the missing apprentices." Turning and looking up at Petrello he continues, "It's interesting that Pavolus does not have your last name. Are both he and Betrona from your ex-wife? What is wrong with the apothecary boy? Why would Betrona run off with Gellion and Nolaria?"

Looking sidelong at his companions Tedal mutters out, "Head by the graveyard, orchard, or try to find the others?"

Male Halfling

Tedal looks between Jacob and Samantha growing more nervous before humming a little rhyme to himself. Choice: 1d2 ⇒ 1

He grabs his pack and follows Jacob and Frosty out the door, the curiosity making his fingers itch to see what was under the mask.

Petrello's Haberdashery:
Tedal tries to calm the man with Jacob, "Sir, you seem to be in a foul mood. Perhaps we can be of some assistance? Please let us know how we can help you." Aid Diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 6

Seeing his words have no effect he drops his pack by the door and starts trying to help out while looking around. Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

Male Halfling

Bluff: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Sense Motive DC 9:
It is quite clear that Tedal is uncomfortable, maybe downright nervous, about splitting up or leading a group.

"Heh, heh. I may have neglected to mention this earlier, but I am new to this city as well. Splitting won't help if one group is entirely lost. Besides, the mayor said there were just sightings, nothing confirmed yet, it'd be better if we all put our brains to finding the younglings."

Male Halfling

"A pleasure to meet you miss Nurri. I am Tedal Lightfoot, though hopefully we can all exchange pleasantries on the road to our destination, time being of the essence and all."

Male Halfling

"Ah yes, the fastest route will indeed be the best. Though I do have to wonder what a haberdasher, alchemist, barkeep, baker, priest and cobbler have in common? I'm certain the youths themselves are not going to be the true targets, but the masters are."

Male Halfling

Five-Tongue:
Kn. (local) to see what Tedal already knows about these apprentices or masters in the following order of interest:
The Pindlions
Nolaria Wintren and Father Ildris Ruvarra
Gellion Vazarro and Pricknettle's Potions and Poultices
Pavolus Laterna and Dependable Drummady
Morvinarr Albusin and Witch's End tavern
Noemi Tauralio and Gunty's Hearty Breads

Kn. (local): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

Before sitting Tedal places his pack on his chair and climbs carefully atop both, perching like an ungainly bird so as to see everyone eye to eye. "If this is a matter of life and death then it is best that we hurry. I've done enough investigating in my life to know that missing people usually don't have very long before they can't be found again."

Male Halfling

Tedal gives a breathy sigh of relief, "Ah, that is good." He smiles at Nixis before looking over at the masked man again.

Perception DC 10:
Tedal's fingers twitch, probably with an urge to take off the mask.

Male Halfling

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

I wonder what that strange fox-man is doing here? Perhaps none of the others see him because he is only in my head? I'll wait for someone else to confirm he is real before speaking then.

"Oh my manners! How rude of me." Tedal addresses everyone in the room with a bow, "I am Tedal Lightfoot, investigator, of sorts."

He looks specifically at the man in the mask, "Good...sir...I guess? Robes make it so difficult to tell one's gender...Anyways I must say that covering yourself head to toe makes you a very curious person, and you are piquing at my own curiosity. I must ask, despite how rude it may sound, what is it behind the mask? Before my curiosity burns me from inside."

Tedal looks with horror at Nixis. "Fed to the..! That is most terrible indeed! How have you come to survive such an atrocity?"

Male Halfling

Tedal pulls out a small notebook and consults it, "Actually that term reminds me of something...Ah, yes that case ended in the burning of an entire library by something dealing with Lanterns? To be short, no. And please don't cut out my tongue...I need it to taste whatever concoctions I happen to make...unless you're volunteering?"

Male Halfling

Tedal turns around and sees the strange female before him, starting to hyperventilate. "You-you're-!" He starts breathing deeply to calm himself and collapses onto his behind. Once he has calmed down (several minutes later) he takes another look at her.

"An elf with dark skin! How [I]unusual[/u]! Did you happen to have a unfortunate mishap with a rod of wonder too?! You see I knew this Boggard once, strange fellow, went by Blip-Bloop..." He continues to ramble for some time unless stopped. He talks of wizards polymorphed into squirrels, swordfish and rhinos falling from the sky, and all sorts of other terrifying wonders purportedly done by this 'frog wizard'

Male Halfling

Sense Motive (final tally subject to change): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
"Strange. My thoughts usually occupy my head rather than my ears. I never have enjoyed being by myself, though if I can keep myself company it doesn't feel so lonely."

Male Halfling

"Hmm... Seems rather lonely here for the moment..."

Male Halfling

Tedal Lightfoot has always been a nervous fellow. It started when his contemptible curiosity got the better of him again and he peeked his head in a door that had strange sounds coming from behind it. He hasn't been the same since he closed the door and ran away, from hearth, from home, family and friend, from everything that was good and helpful in his life.

His curiosity though still gets to him. It is what allowed him to become a professional investigator, trying to understand the mysteries and questions surrounding him. Simple questions such as, "Where did my watch go?" can sate his itch for a little bit, only as long as it takes him to find an answer. Deeper, potentially darker questions, asked in shadowy corners on moonless nights, "Why did the farmer feed his family to those ghouls?" are what gives him purpose and destroy his nerves.

It is only recently that his nervousness has turned into full-blown paranoia. He has learned to sleep with his eyes open, eats and drinks only what others have already tasted, and no one knows quite what it is when he jumps at shadows that are never there.

Tedal is reserved, his paranoia not letting him make new friends easily. His curiosity is still insatiable and he will do whatever he can to solve a mystery. And though he does not shy away from fights he would rather run away to live another day than take on something he does not think he can beat alone.
