Smiles as he begins to pack a pipe. "I think that request'll be easy enough to do. I'd suggest some sort of signal for you to give if things inside get out of hand, but I assume the signal will be improvised and widely recognizable." Finishes his drink and puts the unlit pipe in his mouth. "Shall we head out then?"
Male Human Rogue 1
DM: Spoiler:
Perception 3 + 4 = 7! ROCK ON! People who are still conscious: Spoiler: Keeps an eye on the newcomer, but continues to talk to Rolem"If you're not opposed to the company, I might tag along with you." Lowers his voice to try to keep the little man from hearing "I can keep a respectable distance if you're worried about spooking who you're meeting with, but I'd hate for one of us to get ourselves into too much trouble this early in our investigations."
Male Human Rogue 1
Gets a refill for his, Burik's, and Rolem's mugs. He passes the drinks around, but remains standing and takes a very serious tone. "If you think the disguise'll fool the enforcer, then by all means. I am going to warn you about counting on his inattention to detail to get you by. Overestimating his stupidity is dangerously similar to underestimating his intelligence. While I have no doubt that you believe wholeheartedly in your assessments, I also want you to watch your backs. This whole thing has a stink about it that could turn ugly faster than one of Bardolph's insults. "As for the Three, Burik and I will do our best to root out their employers and intentions at the Shoon site. Do you think we should set up a method of communication between our two groups in case we need to get some information to the other on the sly? We're all newcomers looking to incorporate ourselves into agreeably shady situations so it's very possible they'll be watching us closely."
Male Human Rogue 1
He smiles as he joins the group, "My apologies, I didn't realize the rest of you would be waiting for me. I wish that I would be able to excuse my tardiness with some interesting information, but between being new into town and seeing as how most people confess to clergy rather than gossip, I was unable to learn anything to bring to the table. Hopefully the rest of you fared better?" "I think the little guy there might have a point, we should catch each other up." To the dwarven hostess "Any way we could have a bottle of wine or some ale sent to the rooms?" Glances at Burik over his shoulder "Or maybe a few drinks, now that I think about it?"
Male Human Rogue 1
For the DM: Spoiler: Well, if the Northman entertains the lady folk, maybe Taranis needs to go 'undercover' (double entendre bonus!). However, the whole paladin thing kind of restricts my usual options and modus operandi. However, before leaving I think I might try to see if the big guy has a favorite.
Diplomacy: 12 + 6 = 18 Regardless of that outcome, I think it's about time to head over to the Inn. Drop the disguise on the way over and remind myself that I need to make a better one for when I need to do this again. In short, (and certainly having nothing to do with seeing the Dark Knight again recently) Taranis needs himself a Matches Malone So, I'll run back by the blacksmith and pick up the maul, shortsword, and chain shirt. The chain shirt goes on under the robe, the shortsword goes on the hip, and I'd like to drop the maul off at the temple before meeting up at the temple. I still haven't had a chance to do my misc shopping, but for now I'll just meet up with the rest and try to get caught up to speed.
Male Human Rogue 1
For the DM: Spoiler:
Perception: 10 + 4 = 14.
Since I probably can't overhear Rolem's conversation, I'm probably gonna start chatting up a patron or two and try to figure out what all the excitement is about (steer the conversation particularly to what happened between Bardolph and the Northward Three when I can). Then, try to lead the conversation into what people here might know about the Northward Three. Also, try to find out what the hell the big furry guy is. Diplomacy: 15 + 6 = 21. To the Players: Spoiler: Sorry I been a little slow this week. Preparing to move back out to New York and get started back up at school. I'm doing my best to keep up with everything, so don't worry if I don't respond to something right away, I am checking the posts and will try to contribute whenever I can.
Male Human Rogue 1
For the DM: Spoiler: Well then, hoping that everyone's forgotten about Rolem storming out by now (it is a place where people hang out and drinks are served, after all), I'll try to stroll back in. I'm not sneaking in, but I am trying to by as unassuming and forgettable as possible. Once in, I'll assess the scene and try sitting somewhere relatively far from people.
Sneak: 11 + 4 = 15
Male Human Rogue 1
For the DM: Spoiler: Not at all according to plan. Too much attention on the front door for now, try to ease my way back out of the focus of attention and head opposite of Rolem for now. If I can, try to circle the building to be able to still get an idea of what's going on and be able to shadow if someone tries to follow Rolem out.
Sneak: 19 + 4 = 23
Male Human Rogue 1
For DM: Spoiler: I'll wait just shy of a minute outside as inconspicuously as possible for just a moment, testing out how quickly the halfling gets himself in trouble. If nothing happens after a 20-count, try to slip in and keep myself distanced from the other members of the group I might see.
Male Human Rogue 1
Hamfast: Spoiler:
"Alright, halfling. We give the dwarf a minute, then follow in. We step very, very lightly though. If at all possibly, we even conceal ourselves from our two companions. It's a little early in the game to be tipping our hands so soon, I prefer to play close to the chest myself." He smiles and puts a hand on Hamfast's shoulder "Whatever the wizard is up to, let's hope he's not about to get himself into the same trouble that it looks like we might be."
To Oleg"Thank you for the goods and I hope to pick up the hammer on my way back from a quick errand with my friend here. Don't want to be causing undue attention by carrying that around in public, right?" Taranis follows the plan and heads in after Burik's been in for a minute For the DM: Spoiler: Can I use an improvised disguise kit based off of what I have on hand? I'm thinking, lose the robe (as long as it's cool that I had something other than skivvies on under it) and maybe 'rent' a helm or cloak that would conceal my face from the shopkeeper. Basically, I'm thinking that Rolem and Burik would recognize Taranis fairly well, but they met him as a paladin of Lathandar in the robes from the temple. Quick change and have him walk in with cheap pants, a chain shirt thrown over a used tunic with the face half concealed by either a helm, hat, or cloak and he should be able to blend in a little easier.

Gold in hand and with a quick smile and nod "For such interesting folk you've gathered here, I'm sure everyone will do their best to help you out, Mage Delfen. I'm sure we'll perform our jobs just fine." He then turns and heads out the door, preparing a shopping list in his head And for the DM: Spoiler: Can't remember the exact stats for that maul, but I think it cost around 30gp. After that, I'll also want a boot knife. I'm thinking for maximum concealability to treat it as a small dagger, 1d3 damage and bonuses to checks for stashing it on me sort of thing. Because the maul is meant for going into battle, and I don't want to lug around the enormous thing, I'll need a secondary weapon. I'm thinking a shortsword for this, but if you can think of something a little more thematic, I'll be glad to go with that. For armor, I'm starting with a chain shirt. I don't want to blow all my cash on arms & armor this early in the game. Once I'm able to sit down with PHB, I'll figure out what to do with the remaining moneys.
Male Human Rogue 1
"I think our wizardly companion may have a point there. If no one has any further questions, maybe we should let Delfen get back to his own affairs." He goes to shake Delfen's hand "Thank you for your hospitality and time. We will get back to you after we get a chance to discuss things among ourselves and have looked into matters a little more closely around here." Taranis smiles just a little "And maybe you should take a rest, you're looking a little tired." Ready to head out and decide what we're gonna do
Male Human Rogue 1
Tanaris walks over to the refreshment cart and pours himself a small glass of water as he watches the dwarf 'negotiate' with the mage "I think you might misunderstand the tone of our friend here. I'm sure he didn't mean for his frankness to be of any offense to you, but there are some interesting points he brought up. "Besides his obvious distaste for the sheriff here in Daggerford, I'm inclined to lean in his favor as to our ability to put our trust in you. As noble as your position is, watching out for your brother and all, I really don't think that it would be overstepping our bounds to ask for a show of good will. "The money you've already mentioned should be enough incentive for us to go looking into things, and I'm assuming that we'll have access to that coin since it seems I'm not the only one who has hit upon some hard times. However, I'm thinking there are other little expenses that, if they were covered, could help us to focus on the investigation and keeping your brother safe. "If you have the resources available to make sure that we have lodgings and meals while here in Daggerford, I think it'd be safe to say that we would not only be more inclined to help you, but also stay focused on our task and get distracted with menial details." He sips the water and sits in one of the nearby chairs. His tone is light and friendly, but he is also intently watching Delfen for a reaction to his proposal. For the DM:
Spoiler: Diplomacy 12 + 6 = 18. Don't know if I need that or not, but thought you might like it. Basically, he wants the 250 up front and for Delfen to pay for them to have somewhere to stay and have meals taken care of.

"I think maybe passing the stipend onto someone who has less 'twitchy' fingers might be a good idea. I would think Burik's a good a choice as any for handling the money for now." To Hamfast "and maybe you should be more careful. Stealing from strangers, especially some that are already salty and a mite jumpy, can be a very dangerous proposition."
