Talwyn will study a bit more then retire for the evening.

Talwyn is waiting for Aethon to report while he reads the book.

Talwyn will spend that evening reading the book of petrifaction and readying his spells for the next day. He will recommend to Aethon that he consider finding out the layout of the warehouse they will be raiding.

"Honestly, I'm at least as worried about the one with the scrolls, and I've heard horror stories of the damage a goblin can do with a black powder weapon. If possible, we should eliminate one of them first. The more we can catch alone, the better."
Talwyn will agree to returning to the bar.

"We'd best spend the rest of our day today learning what we may about these red fist tattooed individuals. We should delay little more than that, for fear they get away."
He chuckles at Aethon's second remark.
"I'm sure that it is."
He grows serious.
"Aethon, we must discuss an unpleasant alternative. What will you do if I meet an untimely end on one of these adventures? We currently have little way to gauge our opponents, and a slip up for such... average durability persons like ourselves could mean death. We will take every precaution reason dictates, but Fate's whims are notorious in their fickleness."
He stops.
"Think on it. I don't need an answer, but you might."
He glances about.
"Well, let's do some investigating."

Upon arrival...
"You know, I don't like that cruormancer. He's a right piece of work. But this may get me something far more important than gold anyway, so I shall allow it."

"Ha. You're funny."

"Eh? Friend is a bit strong. Shady business associate is more appropriate."
Talwyn will raise an eyebrow in slight mirth, in the way only a detached wizard may. Or perhaps in circumstances only a detached wizard could.

Like I said. Temp pass. Aethon, you're up.

But he's dominating 16-year-olds. Plus, one right does not right many wrongs in this case. Though he may get a temp pass.
Talwyn will nod politely, turn, nod at Aethon, and then exit the premises.

Uh... My Evildar is saying "sic paladins on dis here boyee."
Talwyn raises an eyebrow at the disturbing scene that just transpired.
"Perhaps you would oblige us to the general occupation of these Red Fists? Information is key to planning."

Wow motives, you really dropped the ball there. I had an even 50/50 on that too...
Talwyn will assume mental tampering with the "off" people - charmed, dominated, drugged, or lobotomized. He will not pry.

Talwyn casts Anticipate Peril and Arcane Sight on himself, assuming Aethon can Mage Armor them both.

Finding our way back or keeping track of the time?
Talwyn will follow the more personable Aethon in, allowing his optimism to light the way.

Talwyn will follow the man's instructions, getting a light drink for himself. He will, unless rushed or delayed, wait 12 minutes to complete the task.

"Temerity."
Talwyn looks neither to the right nor the left as he speaks the countersign.

What he has, then.

"Mirror Images and Hastings are my primarily defensive and/or empowering utilities. Offensive-wise, I could make use of Pit Creation, Greasings, Swarms, and Snapdragon Fireworks - but if this mage is as strong as we have heard, words will be our best defense."
It would be best if you tell me the buffs you plan to take, and I'll just build around that.

Talwyn will be inclined to spend the evening at rest.

Spells changed. A scroll of Anticipate Peril would be nice.
"None come to mind, assuming the guide will be recognizable or will recognize us. Thank you for you assistance. Aethon, do you have anything?"
He will slip the paper within the folds of his robes.

"Any other needs?"

Rescinded to just secret doors then.

"Wands cannot efficiently be recharged, my friend. Detect Secret Doors and Endure Elements are my recommendations."

Get wands for utility, they'll stay useful longer than combat wands.

"Seems logical. Lead on."

"Naturally."
He does speak Dwarven. Do those words mean anything?
"Thank you kindly for your business."
He turns to Talwyn.
"Well, let's be off then. Do you have anywhere you'd like to visit?"
Oh, he wants all of it. Just one thing at a time.

Kn Alchemy wasn't on the list, so I didn't know I could take it.
Talwyn considers briefly. "The manual on petrification, I believe. Yes, that one."

"It matters not. We were instructed to bring him a head. We have a head. He may wield the knife himself."
If I was mistaken on who would actually reach the body first, we can correct from there, but I assumed since he had to circle his stall and we were already closer that Talwyn would beat him there.
He turns to the original vendor, awaiting his response.

Talwyn glances to Aethon and rapidly intones, "The gods are kind to us this day. I am meant to have at least one of those books. Back me up, I need that head."
He will then sprint to the body even as he speaks and pull it up by the neck, slinging his arm about its throat like it was an old friend. He will say to the vendor, "Sir, I have your item."
Note that he gives the rod a wide berth.
He glances to the alchemist. "Feel free to take back your device, I mean you no ill will."

Talwyn will inhale deeply.
"My line of work is a dangerous one. Who knows, I may satisfy your conditions before the day is out."
He turns back to Aethon, a far off look in his eyes.
"Let us keep moving."
Note that Talwyn is keeping constant track of the time, so as not to miss the appointment..

"Are you being serious? If so, what kind of eyes?"

Talwyn will grit his teeth to keep from licking his lips.
"How much are you asking for them?
Will any of these make me evil from reading them?

Would I know anything of the Bonegnaw Assassins?

"Please, illuminate me as to the nature of your wares. My interest is piqued."
Talwyn eyes the tomes as if to drink in every last detail the covers could offer. He then glances up to the merchant.

Talwyn approves greatly of Aethon's decision.

He heads to the scroll and tome peddlers, making sure Aethon keeps close.

Talwyn whispers to Aethon what he knows.
