In the game I'm currently running, I've set my players up as lords of a 5 mile radius area, with a population of less than 2500. I'm looking for ideas on how to set up a taxation system, and ideas to challenge a burgeoning society.
Any ideas for useful products to consult would be helpful as well.
Thank you!

My brother and I are hoping to open up our own game shop this year, and I was wondering(hoping) if any of you out there who own a store could give some advice.

Those of you who are merely customers, I was wondering what it is you feel your game shop does particularly well, and what you wish they could do better.

Thanks!

Also, if you have a good idea for a store name, that would be appreciated as well.

I tend to go for demons - they seem so much more straightforward. No complications, just pure mayhem and carnage. By contrast, I think devils are far more difficult to portray effectively. I very rarely use them, and would like to use them more - but devils seem to do a lot more "off-screen" scheming, which doesn't interest my players much. Any suggestions?

As a DM, I believe my players expect a gold piece to be worth less. I feel as if they're equating a gold piece to a dollar. So when they beat up a significant creature but only come away with a couple hundred GP, they're disappointed. What's a realistic equivalent to a GP? I read once, many moons ago, that a silver piece was equivalent to $1. Is that right? How do you make monetary rewards seem worthwhile?

I'm just starting a campaign. I hope with the level advancement optional rules in the Masterminds Manual, I can tack Hero levels onto a D20 Modern character.
Has anyone done this before? I'm looking to build an Emergent Powers setting a la Heroes. I've read the Paragons accessory to M&M, and it has some great ideas, but I wanted the characters to start out unpowered, and D20 Modern can do that for me the first few levels.
Any advice and ideas would be helpful.
