Talah Lehdos was born on some nondescript junker of a ship somewhere, her parents never could remember the name of it. Or what system it was in. Or the exact date for that matter. Details like were a waste of time, what is important is setting your eyes on the prize and not letting go until it is in your hands. Travel light. Move quickly. Don't stay in one place to long.
Talah's has a typical featherlight build, standing taller and with a little less mass than the typical female human. She does her best to stand out though, trying not to appear to skinny or too tall. Why is that you ask? As a professional thief, it's in her best interests to blend in and look as inconspicuous as possible.
Born of a family of misfit thieves, Talah grew up running every scam in the book just to help her family survive. Her father was a decent planner and her mother knew her way around hacking low security holds. Her brother Krisso was abnormally large (she always said he was adopted) and provided the muscle. At a young age they plopped her into the cockpit of the biggest hunks of junk you've ever seen and told her to learn how to fly.
It turned out she was a natural at it, as was almost everything else she tried to pick up from her family. It was not but a few years before she was calling the shots and planning their next meal. Life was good for a while, the four of them managing to get by, stay alive and stay out of eye of the law. Eventually she screwed up though, losing the three of them in the blink of an eye because she got lazy. She learned then that for all of her talents, patience and the details always seem to come back to bite her in the ass.
Having spent most of her life on the run from the law, it was only natural that she would find herself working a job for the Golden League. She took up regular drops for the League took and built a name for herself an ace pilot, jack of all trades and a sticky-fingered thief. In fact, they took to calling her "Boots" for a crazy heist she pulled off on Melos. She was good, too good in fact because the League would not let her go. Not alive, anyway.
After pulling a nasty job off on Eox, she decided enough was enough. She ran like hell away from the League and tried to find a way to pull a somewhat honest living. The only reason she got out was that Xun assassin Sinjin she befriended covered her ass for some past favors she'd accrued. He told them he pushed her out an airlock and you were long gone.
It's been a while since then and Talah's managed to stay out of trouble for the most part. Though the shiny bits still catch her attention and she accidently borrows things without asking, she's tried to stay on her best behavior. The last thing she needs is word getting back to The League she's still around, else she finds herself on the wrong end of an airlock for real this time.
She picked up odd jobs now and then when shee needed extra coin. Retrievals. Fly throughs. Evidence of cheating boyfriends. Whatever got the creds to get her through.
Landing a job at EJ was a bit of luck. She paid someone to help "clean up" some of her history and make it look they needed her more than she needed them.
