Hi all

I am not sure if this should go in the general PF discussion threads or in the PFS threads, but as I am after advice specifically for PFS I though I would put it here.

The Question:
I am wanting to purchase a special Material shield and eventually enchant it as a weapon. Mithral and Darkwood both state that the object is masterwork. If I was to purchase a darkwood or Mithral shield and then start to add shield enhancements and weapon enhancements (understand they need to be added separately) would the special material count as masterwork for both.

I would expect a Darkwood heavy shield would count as masterwork for being a shield, but you would then need to pay 300gp to also have it Masterwork as a weapon. (As that is not its primary purpose). At least that is how I would run it at a home game.

Do we have an idea on how it would work in PFS?

Thanks for your help all.

Cheers

My group and I are very stoked for this AP. We're wrapping up Carrion Crown (it has only taken us 3 years come January, which is about when we will wrap it up most likely) and can probably jump right into Giantslayer!

We are exactly the same. Started Carrion Crown just before my Third daughter was born, she is now nearly 2 and a half. We play once a month and have just started book 6, so looking at finishing in Feb

My eldest daughter is very keen to play and Giantslayer path looks like a good intro to roleplaying for her. She will be 9 and a half by the time we start and going on carrion crown experience, 12 and a half when we finish (that is a scary thought)

Of course it depends on what my group wants to play

Hi all

This was brought up at our table on the weekend. Was there ever an official answer about the second diagonal?

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Congrats mate

I have been enjoying our time together as you lead us through Thornkeep (even if you did kill me.) The dedication you have shown in getting the most disorganised group together has been astounding** and foretells nothing but great progress in the PFS community with you there as Stephens' Right hand man

** By disorganised , I am including myself as the worst culprate as the life of a father of three girls (1,4,7 years old) and a time demanding wife who insists I actually do some housework and familiy stuff instead of gaming all the time, make me the hardest to work around. Oh god, I hope she is not listening. No she is not demanding she is ...... {COMMUNICATION LOST}

I have been playing around a little with Star Trek Online, as a bit of a break from Eve, and one of the (few) nice things it has is the ability for players to create their PvE modules for everyone to play. There are some pretty creative types that have done some good work

If Goblinworks can do something similar in a way where it can not get exploited (ie kill the goblin for 10000gp), I think that would add a lot of depth to the PvE part of the game

Usually in MMOs I play an industrialist of some sort. Thinking in PFO that I will look at the Ranger class and being the lone hunter that brings his rare animal bits in from the wilderness to sell to the more 'civilised' folk.

I suppose it all depends what and how the crafting / resourse gathering system works

But with three girls (6, 3 and 0), we will need to see how much game time I can actually get. :), so that will also affect what direction I take

Agree completely. Keep the Bard. I am looking forward to PFO as EVE has become unplayable to me until we get daylight savings again in OZ due to where the server downtime hits.

The character I was thinking of recreating was my Bard (Skald) / Barbarian as I am going through a viking phase at the moment :)

Hi there,

I also have just started running this for the local group and have a query.

When applying the GM credit to a PC I assume that they are like normal credits and don't take affect until the PC reaches 12th level?

Appoligies if I have missed these answers elsewhere, while I have 20 years of GMing under my belt (man I feel old as I type that), I am realatively new to PFS

Hi Evil Paul

These are fantastic. I am just about to start Carrion Crown and was going to do up certs myself as I find they really help keep track of who has what.

This has saved me heaps of prep time

Thanks
