-=Traits=-
Armor Expert (combat trait)
You have worn armor as long as you can remember, either as part of your training to become a knight’s squire or simply because you were seeking to emulate a hero. Your childhood armor wasn’t the real thing as far as protection, but it did encumber you as much as real armor would have, and you’ve grown used to moving in such suits with relative grace.
Benefit: When you wear armor of any sort, reduce that suit’s armor check penalty by 1, to a minimum check penalty of 0.
Missing Daughter (campaign trait)
You suspect that a child you know has been abducted by Gaedren. Whatever the relationship, you’ve heard rumors about Gaedren’s “Little Lamms,” and of how the old man uses children as pickpockets and agents for his crimes. You’ve even heard rumors that the child you’re looking for has been spotted in the marketplaces in the company of other known to be cutpurses and pickpockets. Although the Korvosan Guard has been understanding of your plight, it has its hands full with “more important” matters these days, it seems, and has not yet been able to learn anything more about Gaedren. No one else is interested in bringing Gaedren down and rescuing his victims—that task falls to you. The missing child is your own daughter, and you have spent long hours searching for rumors of her whereabouts.
Benefit: You gain a +1 trait bonus to Will saves.

Tael, as she is known in Korvosa, has long black hair which contrasts strikingly with her silver-grey eyes. She typically wears well-fitting black breeches with a simply embroidered grey shirt that matches her eyes. All of this is often covered by a heavy dark grey cloak, in an attempt to stand out less in the streets of Old Korvosa. While she also has flashier clothes for performances, she has not worn these since Arianna went missing.
Once a lively young elf-maiden, the loss of Arim and now Arianna has changed Taelreth. She is frequently withdrawn and quiet, having been sobered by the realities of life outside the Mierani. The focus she once gave to her bladesinger training has now been turned to hunting down Gaedren Lamm, and this drive is quickly apparent to anyone who meets her.
Backstory:
Taelreth was born 143 years ago in the Mierani forest. There, she was brought up in the elven traditions of spellcraft and swordsmanship, as well as the arts of song and dance. Her unusual skill in all of these areas of study attracted attracted the attention of a rather unique tutor, a master of an ancient elven school of fighting. Thus she was schooled in the way of the bladesingers, working magic with her voice and movements even as she dueled with a blade.
Upon reaching majority, Taelreth was seized by a desire to see more of the world. Confident in her ability to defend herself, she set out across Varisia, going by the name of Tael. She wandered from place to place, never spending long in any one city until she reached Korvosa. There, she fell in love with a human man, a flautist named Arim. The two lived happily for several years, performing in inns and taverns together to provide a meager but steady income for themselves.
Unfortunately, Arim ran afoul of some of the city's criminal elements, and was murdered in a dark alley one night. Grieved by the loss of her lover, Taelreth fell into despair. However, she soon discovered she was with child, and the thought of some part of Arim living on gave her the strength to continue. She named her daughter Arianna, and the two lived a relatively happy life within the Mierani conclave.
Everything changed the day Arianna disappeared. Taelreth threw all her energy and resources into finding her lost daughter. This left her little to live on, and she has been reduced to living in a small room in Old Korvosa. After months of searching, she learned of a possible link with Gaedren Lamm, but the Korvosan Guard was unhelpful. Frustrated by the Guard's inaction, she has taken up sword and spell once again, and is preparing to deal with the matter herself.
