Background:
Sutandir Zarill is the child of Cilhwch Zarill, an elven ranger from Kyonin, and Riana Sillander, a minor noble from Oppara. Old prejudices being what they are, neither family approved of the marraige or of the children, so the family eventually moved to Andoran in hopes of finding the equality for all they had heard so much about. They settled in the Darkmoon Vale, outside the logging town of Falcon's Hollow. Cilhwch made some money for the family guiding loggers through the woods to find the best spots to work, and also hunting and trapping to sell meat and fur to the townsfolk. When Sutandir was old enough, he apprenticed to Laurel, the town apothecary, and now works at Roots and Remedies making and selling treatments for the ailments of the community. A shrewd salesman as well as a slick talker, he makes a little extra profit on the side by providing additional tonics and talismans that have dubious value, but make the people of the town feel better.

When a plague made its way into Falcon's Hollow, Laurel sent Sutandir out with several relatives of sick neighbors as well as a few travelling adventurers to find ingredients for a cure. With some difficulty, they came back with the herbs and roots, and were able to create a tonic that eased the suffering of most of the townsfolk. However a few more advanced cases are proving resistant, and so Sutandir has set out again, searching for a few rare items that Laurel's family record book say will save the rest. His former companions have their own troubles to attend to, so he has gone on his own, hoping to find the help he needs in time to save the rest.
