Nothing against these iconics, but my favorite will always be the Dralasite.

Hi, my husband and I are looking for a Pathfinder game in Northern Virginia, preferably, Fairfax, Ashburn, ect. Please, let us know, we miss the game.

Ditto, altho I'm in Woodbridge. Weekends are preferable. In a few months I can host and/or GM, tho would like to try being a PC again.

Liberty's Edge

Looking for a PF game in (preferably) Fairfax/Prince William county. I might could even host, but prefer to be a player. Schedule-wise, looking for Friday nights (preferably).

I am GM'ing a RotRL game on the weekend twice a month (could use 1 or 2 more players, as an aside), so between that and family, weekends are taken up.

If you know of a group that could use a player, or looking to start up one in NoVA, drop me a note.

Liberty's Edge

I have started a Rise of the Runelords campaign in Woodbridge and could use 1 or 2 more players. We meet approx 2xmonth on a Sat or Sun afternoons, depending on coordinating folks' schedules. Both kids and cats are present in the home, although neither kids nor cats are playing. Drop me a note if interested or have questions's.

Liberty's Edge

The pic is not of the bridesmaid but is horn-helmed goblin wielding a horsechopper riding a goblin dog. Where can I get one of those?

Update: looks like an alternate paint of Rise of the Runelords: Goblin Commando on Goblin Dog.

Oops. Already posted that link here a few weeks ago. Apols for the repeat.

I love this thread! You guys are great, especially for guys like me who are too lazy and/or too impatient to create their own stuff...

Yossarian, I love your illustrated NPC list. I think it would be even better if they were listed according to their placement in sandpoint, rather than alphabetically. If you can see at a glance whom you are going to meet at the cathedral (for instance), it might make ones job as a DM easier.

Check out this thread: http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2puoh?Bringing-Sandpoint-to-life

I posted encounter lists for each street using what businesses are on each street, and who may typically be traveling where. It may not be exactly what you have in mind, but here is an example:

Don't just flip -- stack the deck before hand. It isn't cheating, because you're the GM.

Crossposting street by street random encounters in Sandpoint from another thread -- it is broken up into several posts, starting here: http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2puoh?Bringing-Sandpoint-to-life#27

Would you be willing to post all of your street notes? Or at least message or e-mail them?

'tis 11 pages. I'll send you a PM. I could do a post per street for the general readership if that wouldn't constitute spamming.

Still prepping for my own RotRL game. One thing I spent some time on to make Sandpoint come alive is listing out all of the streets in the Sandpoint Map, noting which shops and such are on each street, and then going through the description of Sandpoint making notes of who may be traveling where and why, and then added a few additional random encounters. The idea being that I'll have the PCs at start explore Sandpoint, let them walk into any random store, telling me which streets they are traveling down. I'll pick one or two from the list of scenarios, and if they choose to interact, the we'll have a small roleplaying encounter I'll cross out those that should only happen once, but some are regular occurrences that happen every day. And as we go, from time to time afterward, the PCs can walk around town as a little sandbox exercise, or I have some fluff to throw at them as they travel to Brodert's or the Rusty Dragon, or whatever.

For example:

High Street

Notable Places: Savah’s Armory (12)

Encounters:
* Wagons and travelers from hinterlands
* Savah Bevaniky traveling to/from Savah’s Armory (12)
* Adventurer traveling to/from Savah’s Armory (12)
* Das Korvut walking his large red mastiffs
* Children playing hopsquares chanting Das Korvut doggerel
* Gorvi or one of his boys pushing red wheelbarrow, collecting trash to take to (6)
* Mayor Kendra Deverin walking the town
* Wagon carrying product from Two Knight Brewery (39) to Inn/Tavern
* Hayliss Korvaski traveling to/from cathedral (1)
* someone riding a horse
* (After Swallowtail Only) A procession of worshippers crowds the street, singing hymns and bearing ceremonial icons and banners. They march to the Cathedral to conduct important ceremony.

Depending on where you want to go, looks like you have several broad categories of response to gobo-cide by the PCs:

The goblins stand up for themselves - either en masse (how many kidergarteners would you need to take down a ninja?), or the Big Damn Goblin Heroes mentioned above (+1 for Firefly ref!), or just begin to fight more intelligently (comparatively speaking) as guerillas with hit and runs, ambushes, etc.

The goblins get someone else to stand up for them: hire an assassin(s), get bigger/badder bugbears or others (A Magnificent Monster 7?) to fight their fight for them.

Goblins give up the fight and either negotiate a surrender, or move out (perhaps then overrunning some other area, committing their own atrocities against undefended settlements, etc.) PCs may hear stories of the impact, but with no goblins around, what are they going to do? No geno, no cide.

Whether killed or relocated, the absence of so many goblins in the area causes the ecosystem to get out of whack. Does something bigger/badder move in, or is there some strange disease or plague that begins to show up caused by the increase in the rat population?

Regardless, sounds like the PCs may also be earning a few wrath sin points along the way...

I've been noodling around with space station construction for an antagonist in a future game, this looks like a place to dump it.

Howzabout an instant fortress? If you orient it "horizontally" (in reference to yourself), plug up the arrow slots and forcewall the exterior, then you treat it as you would a submarine, with fore and aft, etc. Perhaps it could be crafted in such a way as to expand into airtight cylindrical tower-on-its-side -- which conceivably may come with its own atmosphere. Then you just need a way to keep the air scrubbed.

Permanent rope tricks (if allowed - perhaps possibly only in a vacuum and not back on planet) could create safe rooms in the event of a breach of hull -- similar to sealing a hatch to prevent flooding in your compartment. The rope trick might even be handy during construction.

I saw the following article and thought: real life Jervis Stoot? (pre-Pazuzu... for now!)

I figure this is a safe enough thread to hijack, and it is slightly topical.

A possible solution is that the spell didn't work -- as intended. Something came back, but it wasn't the Rune Giant. So it can now be whatever you want -- stat it as you will. Whatever it was was confused and perhaps slightly mad when it came back--that would explain any differences from when the PCs saw it in the first encounter to whenever you bring it back. In the interim perhaps that halfling is having a Greatest American Hero-type adventure, trying to figure out what super powers the Runes give him. Except he pledges to use his old and new powers for evil, not good. And as he may credit/blame the PCs for bringing him back sounds like you might have a new recurring villian/nemesis.

You can make it a recurring source of irritation for the PCs -- hopefully in a humorous, potentially running gag sort of way.

Firstly, has it been cleaned out yet? Not just with mop & bucket, but have the ghosts been exorcised yet? Start with the strange occurences and sounds, the constantly breaking glass, hijinx... Could be amusing sidequest/roleplay dealing with the frightened workers and later Magnimar's version of the ghostbusters (let us assume it is more involved than what the party's cleric can handle). Maybe instead of a mortgage, they are backed by mysterious investor partners...who of course insist on an inspection of the property before they contribute their final approval and cash on the same day the ghostbusters are there...

Then, once back in production, who is going to buy the product? Perhaps strangers come with peculiar requests for objects made from the murderglass...are they trying to establish a death cult in Sandpoint? If so, are they serious, or poseurs?

A side quest could be if the PCs are required to personally accompany a shipment and must ensure that the glassware arrives intact...but Murphy's law is enforced at every turn of the trip.

In short, could be the source of continuing diversions and minor side quests and roleplay opportunities. That quarter's profits then become the treasure awarded. The key I would think is not allowing the PC's money to work for them, but to make sure that the PCs work for their money.

I'll cast a vote for asian-themed class over psionics. But if you have 1 GM themed product, 1 PC themed product and 1 beastiary a year... might could have both within 2 years. I'll try to be (mostly) patient.
