Biko En Sabah Nur Daitokuji was born to the prestigious family line of chemists who provided personal services to Lord Emperor Shaddam IV-VII of the Dokuyaku empire in the eastern lands of Rokugan. For as long as one can remember, the Daitokuji family served the emperor of the year and his family with their knowledge of chemistry and the needle during times of ailments. Biko was the first daughter to be born to the Daitokuji family during the year of the opal moon and so her father had crafted for her an opal stud to be worn in an earring to remind all of her blessed birth. However, Biko was not one to follow family tradition in any fashion and choose to wear the stud in a lower labret ring (a piercing on the outside of the lip, lower right), much to her father's disapproval. She also later choose not to follow the family tradition of using their chemist skills to benefit others.

As long as she could remember, Biko did not find pleasure in using the knowledge taught to her by her father (and his fathers before him) to assist in the healing of others. Why use such knowledge for the benefit of others when one could use it for the benefit of one's self, she would frequently tell herself. During her 19th year, the year of the rat, she decided to study the arts of malice as opposed to medicine. Skulking in the darkness of the emperor's library of forbidden knowledge, she spent years reading and gleaning knowledge of the darks arts of medicine while providing care to Emperor Shaddam VII and his family. It was not till her 25th year of age that she was discovered when she accidentally poisoned the youngest son of the emperor during a routine needle session (well this is what she claimed but in secret she did this as the young lad was not fond of her sexual advances. The nine layers of hell hast no fury as a woman scorned). For this she was sentienced to death and her remains buried in such a remote location that none would be ever to find them. For ages unknown to mortal folk her remains laid hidden, buried deep in the earth of some far remote island, an island so far removed from civilized lands that it took the emperor's royal guards 10 passings of the moon sailing east to west amidst the Waters of Dread to reach it by boat.

Some centuries later a group of adventures set foot on the island. An island never soiled by human hands and their industry. The island's location was discovered when, after fighting a large wolf who's fur seemed to glow and move with the essence of magic itself, Gunny, master cartography, realized that the bite mark of the creature's jaws actually depicted a map!! It was by studying the bite mark on Lord Hamish's stomach that Gunny realized that this was a map of the Waters of a Dread and showing the route to one island in particular. Gunny and company found that this island had strange natural auras of magic. Some areas of the island caused one to heal rapidly, other areas caused the natural reptiles of the land to grown to gargantuan proportions, yet other areas all magic was deadened to nothing. During there adventures on the island they discovered there was an ancient testing ground for the warriors of the ancients in order to prove one's worth. With the help of the monkey people known as the Phanatons, Gunny and company where able to navigate the obstacles of the testing ground to gain a powerful artifact against dragonkind known as the Sword of the Ancients (which the party needed as oddly dragons of all colors where all flying towards the northern lands and working together as one, which is a story for another time). However, Lord Hamish was struck down in the final combat. The party had in its possession a druid scroll inscribed with a Reincarnation spell written by a high-level druid. Gunny, master of the seven magics, was able to read from the scroll and invoke its magics. Lord Hamish was reincarnated into the body of a younger man (a favorable roll on the dice considering) and the magic auras of the isle infused with his body due to the reincarnation spell providing him with the ability to heal faster from wounds. Unbeknown to the adventuring party, Biko's remains were buried deep in the earth, on the very spot that the remains of Hamish the water ring bearer rested when the reincarnation spell was invoked. Since the spell was written by a high-level druid (of the 20th order of the oak) it had the ability to reincarnate MULTIPLE remains in the spells area of affect and thus Biko's spirit was returned into the form of a toad (a extremely poor roll on the dice). She returned to the mortal world in the form of her Asian decent, that of a toad found in her lands, an Oriental Fire-bellied Toad. And she found that that the opal stud of her lip ring was now embedded into her back. However, she too was altered like Hamish was. The magic auras of the island and the magics of the reincarnation spell fused together to give her the ability to act as a familiar (and to speak with her master) if she choose desired. Days later after she escaped her earthy entrapment she was discovered by Gunny (who was always curious of things) and placed in one of his magical pouches, as who would know when there would be a time when one need a pretty green toad with a weird opal in it he thought. Many months later Gunny, master polymorpher, rediscovered the toad in his pouches (as he was always rediscovering things he picked up along his travels), and not needing another familiar, polymorphed her so she had small bipedal hands so she could feed herself (Gunny was of kind hearted stock) and then set her free in the city…….

Note: Due to her bright green coloring, Ssip does not gain the natural bonus to Hide checks like others of her ilk. However her species of toad does grant her a +8 racial bonus on any Swim check to perform some special action or avoid a hazard. She can always choose to take 10 on a Swim check, even if distracted or endangered. She can use the run action while swimming, provided she swims in a straight line.

Note: Ssip can understand the Rokugani tongue but cannot speak it due to lack of vocal cords.
