He was born to a poor family in Minkai. His mother died while giving birth to him. While, His father, a farmer, tried to support him and his three sisters but could not. He was later sold to a wealthy merchant journeying to Riddleport. He was a very cruel master. He drove Shoujiro to work day and night and punished him when he made mistakes, which included being whipped. Soujiro endured this inhuman treatment in hopes of one day rejoining his family. However, tolerance became hatred that grew with each strike of the whip. This never waned even through the years because the scars on his body continually reminded him of his master's cruelty.
But during this brief moments of pure hate, he came to experience visions of Claristria, God of Trickery and Revenge. Divinely inspired Soujiro succeeded in in escaping his master's clutches. After his escape, he returned back home hoping to be reunited with his father and sisters...but they where no longer there.
Soujiro then travelled the world in search of his family. He going to a town called Sandpoint.
