@Andrezi Thanks for the compliment. Yes he is a bit complicated. There are soooo many ways one can go with PoW maneuver selection. That alone took me quite some time. Given how complicated the build is, some might accuse me of munchkinism. But the whole build makes sense to me when you just consider Sorek to be a Psionic Monk who uses Path of War maneuvers rather than all the separate parts that it took to put him together. And I'm happy to see other DSP classes here such as your Vizier. Sorek belongs in a party with classes like the Vizier or Magus. I wouldn't feel right bringing him into a party with a straight Fighter.
@Andrezi thanks for the suggestion. Fighters Blade has been on my wish list since step one of this build. Unfortunately I do not meet the prereqs for it until level 9 (1lvl of Soulknife + 2lvs Awakened Blade to meet the Enhanced Mind Blade prereq) At that point I have a choice Pummeling Style which I also don't qualify for until 9th or Fighters Blade. So it comes down to an additional +2 to the Mind Blade vs the goodness that is Pummeling Style. It was a close decision until I saw Roonfizzle with his butterfly sting. He has a crit range 15-20 Butterfly Sting:
Benefit: When you confirm a critical hit against a creature, you can choose to forgo the effect of the critical hit and grant a critical hit to the next ally who hits the creature with a melee attack before the start of your next turn. Your attack only deals normal damage, and the next ally automatically confirms the hit as a critical. Combine that with Sorek's
Pummeling Style:
Benefit: As a full-round action, you can pool all your attack potential in one devastating punch. Make a number of rolls equal to the number of attacks you can make with a full attack or a flurry of blows (your choice) with the normal attack bonus for each attack. For each roll that is a hit, you deal the normal amount of damage, adding it to any damage the attack has already dealt from previous rolls (if any). If any of the attack rolls are critical threats, make one confirmation roll for the entire attack at your highest base attack bonus. If it succeeds, the entire attack is a confirmed critical hit. You can only use Pummeling Style with unarmed strikes (see errata at right). As you can see if Roonfizzle crits with one attack, my whole attack counts as a crit. The damage could get a little silly. Given this I had to choose Pummeling Style over Fighters Blade. On a different topic @Shayn and René I see that you both have Haste. Can I count on on one or the other of you to have that up every major combat? I ask because I currently have the following maneuver Readied Time Skitter:
Time Skitter
Riven Hourglass (Boost) Level: 3 Prerequisite: One Riven Hourglass maneuver Initiation Action: 1 swift action Range: Personal Target: You Duration: Initiation modifier in rounds By accelerating your personal time-stream, you speed up your movements and accelerate your blows for a few moments. When you initiate this boost, you gain the benefits of a haste spell for a number of rounds equal to your initiation modifier (+1 to attack rolls, initiative, and Reflex saves, a +30 ft. enhancement bonus to base speed, and one extra attack when making a full round attack). And given how maneuvers work I will be able to create a personal Haste effect as a swift action every combat. But it looks like I may not need to if the both of you have Haste covered. What do you think? I am thinking about replacing `Time Skitter with
Steel Flurry Strike:
Discipline: Broken Blade (Strike); Level: 3
Prerequisite(s): One Broken Blade maneuver Initiation Action: 1 standard action Range: Melee attack Target: One creature Duration: Instant DESCRIPTION The disciple makes a furious set of attacks upon his foe, hammering through defenses and striking rapidly. The initiator may make three attacks against his foe at full base attack bonus with a -2 penalty to hit. Successful hits inflict an additional 3d6 points of damage per hit. Its a powerful Standard action Strike that I can move and start off combat with before using my healing Strikes later on once we have taken some damage. Looking only at my character I would take Time Skitter, but looking at the both of you possibly casting Haste has made me rethink this.
Awesome. Thanks for pointing that out. . I had no idea. . That feat always seemed really crappy the way I was interpreting it. Much better now. Thanks -Posted with Wayfinder
@Roonfizzle I see you are using the Astral Skin version of the suit. Did you know that Armor can be combined with the Astral Skin? It does not take up the armor slot. That would free you up from having Inertial Armor take up one of your Stone slots. Or did you want to not use armor as you've got a real high Dex? |
