When Koya found Sola she appeared wounded, limping about and eating very light meals. Sola had been left by her tribe for her failure to keep up. The tribes shaman could not find anything wrong with her legs and believed she was just being lazy. Shuned from the others she tried to make it on her own. Lame and disabled by her grief she had almost given up on life. Koya saw something in Sola and offered to take her in. Sola refused any charity and insisted on working for her keep.
Koya taught Sola about her mysterious gifts and informed Sola that her lameness was a part of that gift. Sola cursed Gozreh when she learned of this, how could being so shamed be a gift. One night Sola was practicing her bow skills in an attempt to hold on to her old life, a Ghoul charged at her from behind a large tree. She was not fast enough to escape and the Ghoul had a hold of her. Somehow her body become a bright light and the Ghoul hissed and turned to ash as she looked in horror. Sola had a sudden epiphany that she was destined for greater things. After that day Sola vowed to become a dedicate her life to Gozreh and never again question her gifts.
