Raising and fanning out her hand she counted down her fingers ""Life began rosy, since I was born poor in the frozen hells of the Kings." one finger lowered "It improved vastly when a band of Mortics took us all for dinner, saving me for last because I looked like the least appetizing. Poverty and all you see" she lowered another finger "I was saved by good fold with swords, axes, and fire, but the rot was already twisting me inside, turning me into one of the Mortics, as they did with their leftovers from time to time." which was only partially true, she had been different her entire life, a sickly pale child, a watered down Dhampir, just too ignorant to know any better "But there was a priest. Not of war or sun or even miss death, nope. I got Cayden." she never uses his full name "and whatever brew that idiot poured down my throat and nearly killed me, worse than the rot..." The cleric shook her head but smiled faintly. Whiskey infused with positive energy. After a moment she looked at her finger, and lowered one for that "Cayden stepped in and saved me, not Brother Foulale, I could feel it and have been indebted to the great Drunk ever since." the fourth finger came come, leaving one, so she finishes "And then I came here to share this s$@+ show with all of you fine gentlemen"

Here was Lastwall, and the s*!~show was after a horrible battle against undead or orcs that left piles of wounded. Sister Isabet had run out of magic long ago, her hands and simple robes stained with dried blood, and bags under her eyes growing deeper as the hours dragged on. But her smile hadn't left, the deep laugh lines brightening the room, and her supply of warming brandy and numbing ale seemed endless.

The priestess of Cayden Cailean has been a healer of minds and bodies for decades, seeing an amount of death and suffering that only a combat doctor could. And while she is as pessimistic about everyone's chances, her bright eyes, ready smile, and abundance of carefully crafted brews have helped hundreds see the next day. She personally feels Cayden's church hasn't been involved enough, which is why she probably ended up in warzones, and why she ended up counting one of Iomedae faithful, Aylunna Varvatos, as her best friend.
