Background:
Sir Gusztáv Hollenheim is the second son of a noble house in the Overduchy of Hohenbaurg, and coming so tantalisingly close to the inheritance of his father’s title consumed his early life and fuelled a great resentment for his older brother.

In addition to the traditional knightly training bestowed upon the nobility of Hohenbaurg, Gusztáv realised that in order to gain any true power, he must take matters into his own hands – he poured over tomes of arcane lore and commissioned great mages from across the country to teach him the art of magic, but he found it frustratingly beyond his reach. While the ritual aspect of magic came easily to him, there was something missing, he simply lacked the innate spark required to perform anything beyond the simplest of spells. But Gusztáv was determined, continuing to study despite the challenges, until finally he stumbled upon a short paragraph in an obscure volume that detailed the power of the True name. It was several years after this discovery that he finally gained the mastery required to utilise this knowledge, but he knew immediately the purpose that it would be put towards.

Over the following weeks, the jealous knight began his studies to find the True name of his older brother, planning to use this information to clear the way for his advancement to heir of the Hollenheims. His plans fell into place beautifully, Gusztáv had overlooked one important detail however; he was not the only member of the family to be tempted by power - his younger brother, Magnell, took advantage of Gusztáv’s removal of their oldest brother, taking swift action against him.

Gusztáv barely escaped his brother’s treachery with his life, fleeing to the relative safety of Kaledun to plot his revenge.

Appearance:
Gusztáv is a tall, dark haired man with noble features. He bears himself with the casual confidence only a lifetime of privilege could engender, though his somewhat frayed clothes and meager adornment suggests a recent change of fortune - having left Hohenbaurg with only the possessions on his person, Gusztáv has been forced to pawn many of his favourite rings and brooches in order to pay for food and shelter.
