Still here. Now that I've had a look at the APG PDF, I was wondering if options from that book are approved to tweak my gnome (a racial substitution allowing her to replace Obsessive with Academician for a +2 to a Knowledge skill instead of a Craft/Profession, and maybe some of the new spells)? Sure, I'm up for some fun and games from the APG!
Hey, how's everyone holding up? Still here? With a new modem in place, everything seems to be going well now in terms of internet connectivity. I'm ready to keep things rolling if you are! Let's have a roll call (and character sheet status report) from everyone to make sure we haven't lost anyone.
Guys, I hate to say it, but I think I better put this thing on hold for a bit. At least until I can get the connectivity problems sorted out. My hope is that it won't be more than a few more days. But right now, it's just frustrating, and I can't ever get online with regularity to go over your sheets. Please keep track of this thread for future updates. Thanks,
@Luke, I'll go along with 3000 gp value for the goggles of Deathwatch. @joana, let's set the price of a baby shocker lizard at 200 gp. All, I think we're making some headway on the internet connection problems. Things are running smoothly right now. Things look good for getting the sheets reviewed over the weekend, and a start to the game next week. :)
Feh...no internet connection at home right now. It might be time to switch providers. Anyway, so no sheet review last night, obviously. One way or another, we'll get things straightened out over the weekend. Keep working on things, and I'll post my comments as soon as I can. @Luke, I think custom items are fun to dream up, but I have some difficulty assigning fair prices to them. Let me seek advice on whether 3000 gp is a fair price for such a thing. Making said goggles intelligent would be okay too. Would certainly make for some fun role-playing opportunities.
Can my gnome have a pet? In general, I'm not a big fan of mounts, animal companions, familiars, etc., as I don't like keeping up with an extra set of stats, but I keep picturing her with a baby shocker lizard or two crawling in and out of her backpack, purely as fluff and not to be used in combat. If you want to put a price on them, I'd pay for them out of her gold, and she's taking Handle Animal to portray her past experience with them, regardless. Yeah, I'd be cool with this. I do think some kind of price would be appropriate, but I'll need to think a bit about how much.
@mangalore: Half-elf works fine too, no problem. @luke: Thanks for clarifying on your cleric's outlook. Sounds like he should do well with this group. I'm looking forward to seeing some IC posts to see what you do with him! Everyone, I will have the house to myself tonight, so I'll have plenty of time to crunch numbers and check stats for Jaxom and anyone else who is ready. Keep me posted on your progress.
@mangalore, you can randomly roll for tiefling features, or you can just customize his appearance yourself if you want to. @Vanulf, detailed comments on Jaxom coming up later this evening. @Me'mori, thanks for posting that template. Should work out okay, I think.
So how are we on character development? Any more fluff needed before we start the crunch? Start crunching away at will! I do want to see a background and description on the sheet too, though.
Me'mori just ninja'd me on those tiefling stats...thanks for saving me the trouble man! And yeah, the fine folks of Paizo have tried to make a corner of Golarion for any and every campaign style. The results are sometimes a little odd, but I find it to be a small price to pay for products of such quality.
