Before his embrace Simon von Ratzeburg spent the majority of time fighting in Prussia. Much could be written of this time, but it would mostly be a waste to discuss it. Blood, fighting, and the smell of burned flesh were all he knew as a knight of the Teutonic Order. But, his Sire saw promise in him and a thirst for something more.
How did this happen? How did I end up here?
Battered and broken, Simon lay on the cold stone floor. He had served Alareiks for several years. First, as a ghoul and then as a loyal childe. Simon was dutiful and in his service had fought for his Sire, both kindred and men. But never had he faced something like this. He thought he was strong, but this cainite was stronger, faster. He was woefully uprepared for what a real vampire could do.
Where did you go wrong? His Sire asked, patient as ever. Simon had carefully and meticulously planned every move. Every machination. He had payed the Elder her price, convinced the Ancillae it was time to move, and had a group ready to take action. But when the time came, brute strength was what won. It shouldn't have. The rules were clear. He should have been succesful.
It turns out that learning when political rules are rules and when they're just guidelines is something every Neonate must learn. Simon learned the hard way in the courts of eastern europe. But given the status of his Sire, who, while not a Prince himself, was often sought out for advice and counsel, Simon was allowed to continue living (so to speak).
Alareiks decided that the young childe needed a change of scenery and has sent him off to Iberia, to the court of an old "friend". Simon was given an inordinate amount of resources, something he's not used to, and a retainer to manage it. Unfortunately he's also brought a few problems with him. His Sire is a well known demon hunter (hence his great interest in Prussia) and his childe is of great interest to a particular monster wishing to attack him through his progeny. And so, now that Simon is out from under the care of his wise Sire, he's drawn the attention of a particularly annoying imp hoping to sway the young but powerful neonate.

He's very new to the area, perhaps even having just arrived within the past few nights. However, I'd like him to have already caused a problem with the local court. Perhaps just that his arrival will have taken attention away from another up-and-coming Lasombra. Someone to land in that Rival position.
I've also got a few more points to spend. I was thinking of a merit something along the lines of Magic Resistance or Iron Will. Maybe a Patron or Debt of Gratitude? I'm hesitent to go more into social merits though since I'd prefer to have something more physical or mental to point out his potential.
