The first thing she remembers is warmth. Liquid heat surrounding her whole body, soaking into her flesh. The next was pain, the ache of growing bones and organs as she became fully formed, filling the whole of her world and reaching its hardened boundaries. The third was light, as developed eyes opened, seeing the single circle that shone on her face, lighting up her whole existence.
Next came images, flashes of insight. Letters, words, ideas, basic concepts flooded into her mind. Things which she could never have learned in the eight by four by three foot womb were driven into her mind. No purpose, just raw data, picture books held up and flipped through quick as possible. Eventually, it stopped, and she could think - not just in concepts but words. She understood her own existence for the first time. And then came more pain, as something terribly cold and hot at the same time was poured into her veins, her lungs, her stomach. She wanted it to stop why wouldn't it stop it needed to stop please stop now stop it stop stop stop- The pain ceased when her entire world was destroyed, the circle of light becoming a square, and the liquid warmth fled, and her body first found itself completely at the mercy of a harsh and strange new environment, cold and open and filled with identical metal containers, each open, and each dumping out the same naked and pale redheaded girl. Confused and certainly not alone, a strange and short blue-haired gnome and a tall and dour looking elf came to them. "Group Sienna is ready for testing. Prep them and let's get a move on," The gnome spoke, men coming for them. She was toweled off, and for the first time she really looked at her own hands, delicate blue patterns imprinted on the pale flesh up to her elbows, just like the others - patterns on their backs and legs as well. They were fitted with simple clothing before being put into a closed wagon, twelve of them packed as tightly as sardines - and she wasn't quite sure what a sardine was. They traveled far, some of them whispering in raspy and unused voices, asking questions of each other. Confused and wondering where they were going, the girls were totally unexpectant of their vehicle suddenly stopping, the doors opening, and finding themselves exposed to a world of deep Fog. Each of them was given a number and a task - follow the needle on the compass they were given and reach the city walls. It seemed simple enough, even as the wagon was pulled away. She received the number six, out of twelve. She was not the first to fall, but she noticed it when the others did - one fell into an unseen crevice in the ground, breaking her neck. Others became paranoid and wild, bickering with each other, one of them bashing the other with a rock before wandering out into the mist. One by one, the identicals - the batch sisters - either disappeared into the Fog, or died. She was finding it harder to breathe as well, but kept holding her breath, and following the directions. Finally, she reached a wall, following it carefully until she found a door that wouldn't open. She pounded on it, hoping that someone would let her in, finally passing out. When she woke up again, she was out of the Fog and on a bed, confused. She was told that she'd been brought here to an orphanage, that she was found left in front of their building. When she was asked about her past, she found the details as foggy at the outside. Since there was not much she could give other than the fact that she had been lost outside, she was allowed to stay. When asked for a name, she thought about it, before giving the first one that she heard: Sienna. Since then, the girl has been at the orphanage for the past six months, piecing together her past in her head and trying to figure it out without revealing too much. She's learned quite a bit during her stay, finding out that she has skills she was unaware of, working locks and gears and an expertise with blades she found surprising. One day, she hopes to find out why she exists, what her purpose here is, and who those figures from her past were. Description:
Sienna is tall for a woman at 5'8", weighing around 130lbs. Her physique is strong and flexible, but she lacks the endurance to take hard knock. She possesses bright red hair that she keeps cut short in a bob, her eyes an icy pale blue that she's yet to see in other humans. She passes off the patterns imprinted in her skin as just tattoos, though she's quite aware they're more than that - she's seen them glow with power on occasion when she's focused on a task. |
