Growing up as an orphan in the Welcoming District of Skyridge can be grueling, but Siegfried Cynbel found a way to survive and persevere. Never knowing his parents he had to survive by relying on himself to get food through begging and scrounging for scraps. When he became old enough he escaped this life by trying out for the Line Guard, and eventually being selected for the training program. During the training program he was given the opportunity to join an expeditionary force that went into the plains below to track the movements of the orc clans. The offer was too good to pass up so after his training was complete he joined the expedition and went down into the plains. After completing a couple of missions with the force, his squad was ambushed by orcs on their way back from the most recent mission. Siegfried was able to survive the ambush by jumping into a river and swimming across it. When he climbed up onto the opposite shore he immediately put some distance between himself and the river. He then went about setting up a small camp in order to dry himself off and keep warm. After Siegfried recovered he returned to Skyridge without incident and told his superiors what had transpired. Siegfried decided that after giving the report to quit the force and guard caravans as a mercenary.

• On his last mission with the expeditionary force, his team recovered an ancient artifact and was bringing it back to Skyridge for further study when they were attacked.

• One of the members of the expedition purposefully exposed their location to the orcs and ran away with the artifact during the ambush.

• Gerard Straton – Works as a bureaucrat in Skyridge. Was in close contact with him while apart of the expedition, but started meeting less often after Siegfried left the force.
• Aldhard Publius – Local shop owner where Siegfried buys his supplies and sells things he comes across while escorting caravans.

• Ushis Sha’uz – Orc captain responsible for the ambush.
