Bonus Feat:

At 1st level, 2nd level, and every four levels thereafter, a master of many styles may select a bonus style feat or the Elemental Fist feat. He does not have to meet the prerequisites of that feat, except the Elemental Fist feat. Alternatively, a master of many styles may choose a feat in that style’s feat path (such as Earth Child Topple) as one of these bonus feats if he already has the appropriate style feat (such as Earth Child Style). The master of many styles does not need to meet any other prerequisite of the feat in the style’s feat path.

This ability replaces a monk’s standard bonus feats.

Fuse Style (Ex):

At 1st level, a master of many styles can fuse two of the styles he knows into a more perfect style. The master of many styles can have two style feat stances active at once. Starting a stance provided by a style feat is still a swift action, but when the master of many styles switches to another style feat, he can choose one style whose stance is already active to persist. He may only have two style feat stances active at a time.

This ability replaces flurry of blows.

Punishing Kick:

At 1st level, a hungry ghost monk gains Punishing Kick as a bonus feat, even if he does not meet the prerequisites. At 10th level, and every five levels thereafter, the monk can push the target of his Punishing Kick an additional 5 feet (10 feet at 10th level, 15 feet at 15th level, and 20 feet at 20th level). At 15th level, he can instead choose to push the target 5 feet and knock the target prone with the same attack. The target still gets a saving throw to avoid being knocked prone.

This ability replaces stunning fist.

Mystic Past Life (Su):

You can add spells from another spellcasting class to the spell list of your current spellcasting class. You add a number of spells equal to 1 + your spellcasting class's key ability score bonus (Wisdom for clerics, and so on). The spells must be the same type (arcane or divine) as the spellcasting class you're adding them to. For example, you could add divine power to your druid class spell list, but not to your wizard class spell list because divine power is a divine spell. These spells do not have to be spells you can cast as a 1st-level character. The number of spells granted by this ability is set at 1st level. Changes to your ability score do not change the number of spells gained. This racial trait replaces shards of the past.

Spells Chosen (1 + 3 Cha Mod) from Witch spell list: Marionette Possession, Raise Dead, Witness

Lifebound (Ex):

Samsarans gain a +2 racial bonus on all saving throws made to resist death effects, saving throws against negative energy effects, Fortitude saves made to remove negative levels, and Constitution checks made to stabilize if reduced to negative hit points.

Low-Light Vision:

Samsarans can see twice as far as humans in conditions of dim light.

Samsaran Magic (Sp):

Samsarans with a Charisma score of 11 or higher gain the following spell-like abilities: 1/day—comprehend languages, deathwatch, and stabilize. The caster level for these effects is equal to the samsaran's level.

Background
--------------------

The oldest fragments of memory belonging to the Samsaran that now calls itself Shin Oharu date back over 1500 years. These fleeting memories grow more clear and textured the closer they come to the present. The last 350 years of life, however, are the clearest. In that era, before the death of Aroden and beyond the memory of all but the oldest of the longest-lived races, Shin Oharu -- then known as Rikaidou Karagama -- swore himself body and soul to the Amatatsu family of Minkai, to as long as his soul persisted serve as protector of their line and guardian of their birthright.

Today, the reasons behind this oath have been forgotten. The memories prior to swearing service to the Amatatsu's is shrouded in the fog of ages. To Shin Oharu, however, the reason is unimportant. For the last 300 years and three incarnations, Shin Oharu has served the Amatatsu family with loyalty and ferocity as their immortal protector.

Rikaidou Karagama, who swore to protect the family, guided the Amatatsu's across the Crown of the World with an army of oni at their heels. Rikaidou gave his life fending off an army of the accursed oni to allow the surviving Amatatsu's time to escape to the southlands. Only four of their bloodline survived, but in doing so Rikaidou prevented the destruction of their line.

This noble soul was succeeded by Oharu, whom took the surname Rikaidou to honor his previous incarnation as was tradition. Oharu was but a young teenager when he was reincarnated, joining the Amatatsu's as they made their way into Varisia. This young soul would help keep the secret of the Amatatsu line as they concealed their identity and birthright, taking up the name Kaijitsu. In order to protect the family, Oharu would keep this secret from those he protected, until the day when he believed it would be necessary to reveal the truth -- and when he felt a rightful heir to the Amatatsu name was born.

The struggles of the Kaijitsu family would prove to be a great strain on Oharu. From birth Lonjiku Kaijitsu was difficult to train and mentor, a headstrong and beligerent soul. Despite Oharu's tutelage, Lonjiku would persist in fathering illigitimate children, being distant and resentful to his wife on discovery of her illigitimate son Tsuto. Despite his best efforts to keep the family together, Oharu watched as the Kaijitsu's began to fracture around him.

Making efforts to visit and tutor Tsuto when he was sent away proved problematic, and hsi mentorship of the youngest Kaijitsu, Ameiko, soon became his focus. When Ameiko ran away from home on several occasions, it was Oharu that kept by her side to protect her and teach her the lessons of life her father was incapable of. To Oharu, Ameiko was the last hope for the family line.

Ultimately, things came to a head when Tsuto became involved with the Skinsaw cult during his time in Magnimar and returned home to seek vengeance on the father who he believed had destroyed his family and murdered his mother. Sworn to defend the Kaijitsu's, Oharu was forced to confront Tsuto along with a group of others involved in the struggle. However, in attempting to save Lonjiku's life, Oharu was slain by one of Tsuto's arrows, and Tsuto himself died at the hands of the other adventurers that had been embroiled in the events.

When the dust cleared, Ameiko was truly alone. Without her close friend and guide, without her father and brother, without anyone to care for her. It was this grief and loss, this desperation and hopelessness that pulled Oharu's spirit back to the world. There was only one true Kaijitsu left, and were she to perish his vow woudl be broken and his soul forever tainted by the failure.

Through force of will and the bonds of promise, Oharu returned to this world as Shin Oharu -- but a child. Shin's abrupt return just days after his death caused unexpected side-effects. While Shin's spirit is strong, his body was hastily constructed out of the ephemeral forces that a samsaran is born to. Frail of body and lacking in the lethal experience he once possessed, Shin found himself in a difficult position, but one he must succeed at. But where there is darkness, a light can always be born. With his spirit as strong as it is, Shin can feel the connection to his past incarnations stronger than ever, and should he be able to tap into this collective incarnate force, he could become the strongest of all incarnations yet.

For the sake of the Kaijitsu family in this age, he hopes he can. For the time is rapidly approaching where Ameiko must be made aware of her true heritage, lest the Amatatsu line disappear forever...
